Very friendly staff and very helpful, landlord and landlady very helpful.

Just hope one day they get permission to build a toilet and shower block,

Lovely area of the forest great for walking or biking 🚴‍♀️. Will stay again someday soon

Had a one nighter at this lovely pub after a couple of days on the coast - due to CV19 all Camping in the Forest Sites were shut, and I decided to try this instead of my usual place - and I'm so pleased I did.

Strict and well observed CV19 distancing and one way precautions in the pub when I checked in, which was painless. Pitched where we liked in the good size field, which is gently sloping and nice short grass - no sign of any sheep poo mentioned in another review!

No facilities, just water and chemical disposal, although there is a toilet in the pub during opening hours.

Had a really nice meal in the pub garden - you get 10% off too if you are staying on the campsite.

Wonderful location not far from the A31 but right in the New Forest with lovely walks direct from the campsite

Will definitely use again - of £15 a night for one person and dog, no EHU

A really good site in close proximity to lots of New Forest locations, such as Lyndhurst and Ringwood.

The site is quite open and is reached via the pub car park and has several grass pitches with access to electricity hook ups if needed.

There is a grey waste disposal facility in one area of the field, which is shielded from view by much of the site. There is an assortment of waste collection bins available for recycling and general waste.

The pub serves really good quality food, which is reasonably priced, but limited in menu on my visit due to Covid-19 restrictions.

There is an excellent play park which our grandchildren really enjoyed on a visit to the site.

The pub landlord is really friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble.

Overall, a good quality site with great amenities in a fantastic forest location.

We have been visiting this pub for years, Mel and nick are great people.

Really glad they have opened the campsite as we visit the forest a lot.

It’s a great location, lots of wild life as you are in the forest and you can get to the main roads very quickly if you off exploring.

Mel and Nick have been really welcoming and helpful in every way.

Great pub too, food if you don’t fancy cooking and we even enjoyed a great live band this weekend outside!

Great value for a forest campsite, go have a look!

Really great place to stay, small quiet plot with around 6 pitches behind the pub, all with electric hook up. 10% discount for campers at the bar.

Landlady Mel really friendly and helpful-nothing to much bother.

Downside no shower facilities, other than that a great place to stay if you like a laid back friendly atmosphere.

I enquired on email and received a response pretty quickly and they confirmed they had availability and the cost at £15 for me in a campervan with my dog.

Upon arrival we went in to the pub to check in and there was a great one way system in the pub and I felt safe and was met by a very cheery lady who explained where things were and left us to pitch.

The field is behind the pub and gated and always kept closed, so it felt safe. It is slightly sloping which is great for drainage but not an issue to be uncomfortable at all.

There is a fresh water tap and chemical disposal and that is it. You can use the pub toilets during the day, but I had my own facilities, so all was good there.

The pub offered a limited menu and seating was outside only but there was a huge marquee if the weather turned bad. In the pub garden there was a huge playground, fort type hing, but this was closed off due to CV-19, however it looked awesome and the kids would love it when it is opened again.

Food in the pub was great, reasonably priced and a well stocked drinks menu too. There were only accepting card payments.

The pub is located in the heart of the forest and the walking from the site is immense, there are so many options and we walked for miles and barely saw another person. Plenty of wild ponies and cows wandering around made it even more fun.

Great location for visiting all the attractions in and around the New Forest and close to the A31, yet I could not really hear it.

This is a great site and for £15 for the night I will retunr time and time again.

We booked to stay for 4 nights. On arrival we were told by the owner there was her daughters wedding with a disco on the Friday night! It would've been courteous to advise us of this before arrival as we were worried our stay was going to be disturbed. The wedding did not disturb us and they politely ended the disco at midnight. What disturbed us was the campers in the field. They were playing loud music before the wedding even got going and after not being able to sit outside and enjoy the weather with the music I went over and politely asked them to turn it down. (Much to their disapproval) They were a cluster of campers and I'm not sure if all were wedding guests but they had ferrets, cats and a very boisterous out of control dog. Of which sadly the owner hit when it got over excited. So that part of our stay was rather unpleasant.

The son was very pleasant and helpful on arrival. We didn't see anyone the rest of the time. We had a power cut on the 2nd night so turned everything to gas as it happened as we were going to bed. I didn't get an acknowledgement when I emailed about this. It might have been nice customer service to advise us the reason or how long it was out as we incurred gas costs of our own to run the fridge because of this and at the cost per night to stay I felt this inconvenient.

The field had a lot of sheep poo in it but freshly cut grass. There aren't many electrical hook ups considering the size of the field and they run across the middle of the field so if you have a long electrical lead you can park away from the plugs and everyone else. There are electrical hook ups in the pub car park so hardstanding available. There is a drinking water tap and a waste area. That's it. Based on the basic facilities I would definitely say the site is overpriced. We paid £20 a night for a weekday and £25 a night for the weekend! They offer 10% discount in the pub but to be fair under the circumstances of a large wedding and Covid and social distancing we did not visit the pub.

The location is ideal for Forest Walks and there are the pubs at Brook The Green Dragon and The Bell and also the very lovely Royal Oak at Fritham which I would recommend. If approaching from Brook be aware there is a Ford so slow down for it as it has quite a dip. You can also approach from the A31 Eastbound.

If asked if I would stay again, I would have to say because of the cost I would look for other sites first :(

Good location on the edge of the Forest so it was easy to get to Southampton which was the reason for our visit.

Friendly welcome from the owners and staff. Apart from the electric hookup the site is quite primitive with toilets only available in the pub.

Expensive for a site with such limitations.

Beautiful location with plenty of easy walks for all ages. Extremely friendly staff. Had delicious Sunday lunch in pub for husband's birthday.

Our daughter requested a candle on her Dad's desert which was willingly given. The staff then also gave him a birthday card.

Current owners have been there only a year and are re-activating the campsite, but there is a long way to go.

My husband and I were self-sufficient in a motorhome, but having been told our daughter and son-in-law could join us in a tent, we were not told there were no facilities for tents; no loo - except for the one in pub - and no shower.

We had an electric hook-up for the motorhome, but the water tap in the field was broken. Ok there was another outside tap at the front of the pub but we had to run a hose from that to the manhole cover in order to flush out the chemical loo.

We were a little aggrieved that the pub still charged £20 per pitch, plus £5 a night for the EHU. It hardly has sufficient facilities to call itself a CL at the moment.

The 10% discount off everything in the pub did not quite compensate! However they were all lovely, helpful people and we wish them well and hope they develop the campsite to good basic standards. If so we will return.
