We had a wonderful 3 nights. Everything you need for a visit to the new forest.
The hosts Nick and Mel were very helpful and accommodating to all our needs.
The views were wonderful and out the front of the pub a herd of new forest ponies assembled every morning

A lovely campsite, easy to get to from the main road with great walks from the site no road noise very quiet.
I ate in the pub and the food was sooo good.
But the main plus for this site is the people who run it, they are all so so nice, helpful and friendly.
I am hoping to return to this site for longer.

Hardstanding is just outside the campsite with easy access to the electrical hook ups.
We had a warm welcome at check-in for both us and our dogs.
The pub is very nice and the Sunday lunch was excellent. This is a very nice stopover,
We would visit again

Access when towing a caravan not for the feint hearted, but perfectly manageable.
Pitches spread out on a large sloping field, levelling blocks required. Grass kept reasonably short. No toilet block but toilets in pub available during opening hours. Toilet emptying point a bit grim, but it works.
EHU available, but we had to take care with what we were running at the same time to avoid tripping.
Fantastic welcome from all staff, and 10% off all you spend in the pub during your stay.
Great walks into the forest straight from the site with an abundance of wildlife roaming free.
No light pollution at night, so star gazing on clear nights is superb. Distant hum of M27 and A31 ever present but not too obtrusive.

Just had our family holiday back at Sir Walter Tyrrell.
This is our 3rd time and had a brilliant time.
Mel and all her staff are very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble.
We have now booked to come back at the end of August.

Lovely pub in idyllic setting. Ponies roaming freely across the road, area water logged so unable to wander around, although road was pleasant enough and not too much traffic.
Unfortunately a classic car rally was taking place the day we were there, so food not available until approx 2. 30 onwards by which time they had stopped serving Sunday roasts, so had to settle for something. Although good, was disappointed not to have a roast. Served good ales. We were not informed that this event was happening, hubby happy though like most men would be. The manager and staff were friendly and dogs allowed in the bar area.
Unable to comment really on the camp site as we stayed on the car park with emu, the grass being so wet.
A couple of caravans were there, large tidy field which looked well tended.
On leaving we meet with sheep and pigs roaming about the village.
Would stay again overnight if in the area, need transport if you want to go anywhere.
