Had a 5 day stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. As said a short walk to town for bars and shops. Pitches are a good size, one toilet block with 4 showers for the men, not sure of the ladies. Never had to wait long even though the site was full.
Information hut was full of leaflets for all the attractions in the area, and the folder on eating places was most helpful.
Used my sat nav to locate the site which was a mistake as it sent me down the wrong road. We had the write up from the CC on how to find it, and should have used it.

Stayed here a few times over the years and it never fails to impress, lovely clean site, well looked after and as ever 'up to the Caravan Club's usual high standard'. Wardens as always were extremely helpful and friendly.
However we unfortunately stayed during all the heavy rain but the wardens (bless 'em) were out in the pouring rain 'rodding' the drains to prevent any flooding - very successfully too !
Would recommend the riverside walks and the walk into the town - stunning even in the rain ! Don't miss a visit to Wellington Square Fish 'n Chip cafe` the fish are to die for !
The town of Ayre is now looking a bit run down (as are most towns) nowadays due to shop closures. Beautiful beaches
No more than 5 minutes away in the car !

As you would expect of a Caravan Club site : well run, clean, secure.
Located a 10 minute walk from Ayr town centre, but still out of the hustle and bustle. Nicely landscaped with individual hard-standing pitches. Pleasant walk along the river bank very closeby, for exercising the dog.
Friendly, polite and helpful wardens.
As with other club sites, pricey if you're not a member (£27. 50), but you takes your choice.

Lovely site which is in a handy location for Ayr town centre yet you would think your in the countryside as its very quiet. Friendly lady ( sorry I forgot your name) at check-in and site has large pitches and well kept.
Site was busy yet never felt so and all other fellow campers were friendly and chatty.
Toilet blocks were also spotless and the only very minor quibble was the lack of heating in them as we had the grandchild who was always cold when getting bathed.
Definitely recommended and we will return regularly for short breaks as only one hour travel from home.

Typical caravan club camping site.
Clean, good size pitches, very friendly campers, the feel that you are all members of a club, which in fact you are !
BUT the same as a lot of caravan club sites, the wardens are just doing a job not like owners. Told to pick our own pitch and then go back and tell them where we were. Not particularly interested in us.
Close to the town centre by the University.
Very nice beach in Ayr for dog walking.
Would consider returning if in the area as the beach is so good for dogs with free parking but that would be the only reason.

We spent 3 nights at this campsite during the first part of the Easter holiday. The site itself is located in close proximity to the town centre, about 15 minute walk, which we found to be ideal for eating out at in Ayr town.
The sites facilities are excellent with clean, well maintained toilet and showering facilities. The staff were very helpful and friendly and seemed to work very hard to keep the grounds in tip top condition.
The only negative is that at the moment there is major building work being undertaken at the university. It didn't impact on our holiday or time there at all.
Lovely site and I wouldn't hesitate to book this again.

Spent the Bank Holiday weekend at Craigie Gardens. Our caravan had its first outing!
Please don't let the previous comments about access roads put you off this site. When we arrived, the road layout has been changed. Do not head for the old entrance on the bend. At the traffic lights on craigie road, turn left & then turn right at the newly built roundabout. The entrance is on the right about 200 yards.
The signposts for the campsite aren't great from the main road & if you go straight through the lights, you'll need to do a you turn on a narrow road.
The entrance road is temporay tarmac & be careful of the high speed bumps!
The access issues are temporary until the building work is completed. This shouldn't be long, the building is up & we heard no noise from the site.
As has been said already its a great site, with friendly wardens & great facilities

I stayed here for 2 nights for the Ayr Country Show, and for a change the weather was excellent. I am still not fond of the piped music in the toilets. This is still a very good site and kept spotless as you would expect from a club site.
When I visited, all the access roads were being changed so the areas just outside the site were a bit of a mess. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely walking area.

We used this site as a stopover on our trip back down South so arrived after a long drive at approx 7pm. On approaching the site we did worry as no one had mentioned any of the building works when we phoned in advance and it is a bit off putting if you are not expecting it.
However, the friendly welcome from the lady warden made up for this and she kindly put us on a larger disabled pitch near to the amenities block and provided info re local takeaways that deliver to the site.
The site was busy with lots of families but we had no problems accessing showers etc. All facilities were clean and well maintained.
There is a handy info kiosk opposite reception with lots of tourist and local info. TV reception was excellent.
There was a 'dog walk' just outside the site entrance. Access is through barriers with a swipe card
We did not have time to do any exploring of the immediate area other than a drive through Ayr as we left.
Would use again as a stop over.

The site could be one of any Caravan Club sites in Britain which I find extremely boring, though I suppose you are always assured of a certain standard.
We obviously had a different experience with the wardens to everyone else, with them quoting 'Caravan Club' rules and regulations about choosing and keeping your pitch-what a shame-we enjoy the freedom of motorhoming.
Toilets and showers were of the usual high caravan club standard. The pitches were hard standing, which was a relief as we'd had a lot of mud at previous sites.
The site itself is an easy walk into Ayr and there is a Morrisons and a whole high street within an easy stroll away. Also it is an easy walk to the seafront, and a nice river walk.
Most people on the site were over 60 and there was a distinct lack of people out having fun- everyone was in their caravans watching TV. A good location. We were not disturbed at all by the building works.
