Wardens/Reception were very friendly & helpful we arrived after 8pm after our journey taking 11 hours! Stayed in the late arrivals bay overnight, moved to pitch at 9am. Hard standing pitches ours was next to the play area which was perfect for our 5 & 6 year old. Although 2 nights we listened to older children kicking a ball off the fence til 10pm, but it was worth it to be so close to the play area for our little ones.
The showers & toilets were spotless (with radio!)& the grounds were checked & cleaned on a regular basis.
I also used the laundry room, machine has large drum so you can fit lots in for £3 then 70p a go for the tumble dryer - needed 2 goes to dry a load sinks also there for any hand washing too which us mums always need to think about with the amount of clothes the kids go through!
We were told about the building work which didn't wake us up through the night or wake us in the morning so it wasn't a problem for us.
This is our 1st trip to Ayr & staying in a caravan club site & we loved every minute especially as the weather was good to us too. We will be back as soon as we get the chance.

Its a couple of years since we had been to this fantastic site. It was always a great favourite of ours but decided to try other areas for change. Well we have seen them and it was like coming home. We took our 4 year old granddaughter and she loved play area.
The staff are so friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers spotless also lovely and warm at this time of year. Site ideally situated for everything and everywhere Ayr has to offer.
Only downside was the noise from the building of new college beside site (but wouldn't put us off returning. We always seem to meet lovely people when we visit this site (must be where the best people go), Cannot wait for return visit with friends to introduce them to Craigie Gardens Park.
The whole site is beautifully kept and a credit to staff who seem to work non stop keeping the place to such a high standard. Well Done.

Just returned from our first outing of the season in our caravan, difficult to find somewhere in Scotland open all year. Having just joined the Caravan Club this was our first experience of their sites. A very warm and friendly welcome, lots of good advice about the Club, told us where nearest bank, supermarket and other shops were. Advised us on how to get onto the riverside walkway to get into Ayr (about 10 min walk). Gave good advice on local restaurants.
Site was spotless as were all the facilities. Toilets included room with a baby bath which I thought was good although my baby is 9 years old now. Pitches all hard standing and level with plenty of room in-between.
Playpark was geared for younger children but well equipped and safe. Site was about half full but did seem quiet.
One of the few places that we arrived and parked the car and never used it the whole time we were there. Everything was within easy walking distance. We went for a lovely walk along the beautiful beach which went on forever with great views over to Arran (with snow on the mountains).
We will definitely return to spend more time and bring our bikes next time. Would certainly recommend to anyone.

Just back home after a great weekend, weather fantastic but pitches here stay pretty dry even in the wettest of weather.
Wardens welcome excellent, advised that the adjacent university works would be working a ghoster, sorry my expression should have said overnight. No problem hardly a sound and reckon the guys on site probably would have complained about my snoring.
Facilities up to the usual high standard.
Ayr town centre and promenade only a short walk away.
Excellent all year round site.
Please don't let the works put you off this site and also please observe the on-site speed warning signs, so many seem to feel that it does not apply to them!

We use this site a lot as it is not far from home.
The wardens are always helpful, they phoned us before we went last time to say the building work was going on at the weekend in case we wanted to cancel.
It is in great location to Ayr town centre.
The entry to the site is a bit muddy due to the building works at the moment, but as others have said don't let it put you off

Nice site, handy for Ayr town centre. But why is there a traffic jam everywhere you want to go in Ayr???
Nicely laid out. Site full all the time we were there but didn't feel crowded. We parked on the left just as you come into the site which I wouldn't recommend as the sap of the trees fell on car, 'van and awning!
Loo's up to CC standards but a bit stretched when the site is full. Could have done without the piped music too.

A very well laid out site close to the river and shopping centre. Toilets and showers very clean and practical. When I first arrived I was not too sure about the piped music in the toilet block all day and night, but it grew on me. I was only there for 3 days for the Ayr County Show, which was staged on the nearby race course. Unfortunately it rained hard all weekend and was a bit of a wash out.
The site staff were very helpful and polite. There are some very nice walks along the river bank and in the very large park.

What can I say, this site was immaculate, couldn't have asked for a nicer cleaner site. Clean toilets, showers, private wash cubicles and covered dish washing area which all had an endless supply of roasting hot water.
The site is a 10 minute walk into Ayr if you cut through the College, but I wouldn't use this route at night. Once there you will find all your usual high street shops and also some specialist type shops, the type you tend to find in touristy type towns. There is a large beach and a free entry public park and play area, which has to the biggest and best I have ever seen. (Well done Ayrshire Council). There is also a small amusement type place and a large indoor soft play area, that does a good lunch.
As with most of the club sites that I have stayed on there is no shop but Tesco's is within walking distance (not sure how long though as I jumped in the car).
There is also a nice small play area for children but couldn't see any open area were they could go and kick a ball about.
This was my first time at this site and were so pleased that we have booked up for a week in July.

Excellent site. Fully deserves its 5 stars. Warm friendly welcome on arrival. Well laid out, big pitches, all hard-standing. EHU close by.
Very Large Pitches, some noise from nearby main road. Wardens very Helpful & Polite Really enjoyed our nights here very peaceful. Handy for Racecourse & Town Centre.
Toilet block was warm & clean. Shower cubicles had thermostatic controls, and each had a small plastic stool in the dry-part of the cubicle.
Excellent play area at bottom corner of site where most families on park were congregated. Very handy for town centre as once we found short way through country park and college campus was less than ten minute walk. Good shopping and eating out choices with lots of places to visit nearby for kids.

Great site and handy for the Auld toon o Ayr with plenty of pubs of character.vAs the Bard once stated 'There is no a toon auld Ayr surpasses for honest men and bonny lassies'. Also the site shower blocks were more than adequate, warm water aplenty, music piped. Pitches were quite large enough for van awning and car to be parked. Also in nice landscaped surroundings.
