The site as its name suggests, is located in Graigie Gardens, To get there requires close attention to directions to the site and if the roundabout on the A70 is shut then diversion makes you cringe a bit.
The site is pleasantly developed to the usual high standards of the CC.
The City is fairly run down, although a fair sample of shops exist.
If you play golf you will be in paradise.
Our 10 day stay included a visit to Robert Burns cottage, 'The Brig o Doon' and the Burns Monument, On the day we visited the bridge, the weather was a little overcast, but allowed us to take photos without having anyone in the photo.

Directions to the site, using the CC location instructions are a bit confusing!.
The site is well laid out with the pitches adequate in size, although the pitch we were allocated was not well maintained and we were subjected to industrial noise for most of the (working week, i.E.Mon - Fri) In fact our 10 day stay had to be shortened due to the noise.
Ayr Shopping area, was quite large although there was evidence of need for the area to be upgraded. Walking to the centre took us around 30 mins, although the walk was pleasant and over flat ground.
If you are a golfer you will be in paradise,
Robert Burns was born at Alloway, a few miles from the site, and together with the Tam O Shanta experience and the house where he was born are well worth the visit.
Overall, I liked the area, and there is plenty to keep the younger campers occupied. Pity the pitch we were given was very noisy from outside activities.

We were here with our son in October. Had a pitch next to the playpark which was good. The toilet block was spotless and showers very warm. You can walk into Ayr, we timed it and only took 15mins, you cut through the college. Also you can walk to Morrisons in about 8 mins. We saw rabbits and squirrels in the woods where the campsite is. As always with a caravan club standard very good.

As said before GPS gets it wrong, although if approaching from town side this will be obvious. Pitches are a good size and wardens are very friendly and helpful. The radio is playing in the toilet block which is of usual CC standard.
Kids had a lot of fun the the play area, and the site is well maintained. A Sky satellite signal is available on most pitches even with the large trees.
The site is very close to town and car parks are a reasonable price if you don't fancy the 15/25min walk in.
Although the street map for £2.50 (currently) is of good quality you may want to print your own Ayr town maps before you leave home!
Although the site information recommends Citadel Leisure Centre in Ayr as a swimming pool we drove to the Magnum Leisure Centre in Irvine (naleisure.co.uk) The Magnum centre is a clean and tidy pool, although the area around the outdoor pool could do with some weeding and tidying up, although we did not use it Magnum offers a combined swimming and ice skating ticket also.

We have stayed at this site on many occasions, the kids love it and the facilities are fantastic. The showers are brilliant, you even have a radio station broadcast at all times, toilets are centrally heated so great when you have had a shower. just like at home. Plenty of water points throughout the site and everyone speaks to each other, dishwashing and water and waste facilities are perfect A friendly run happy site which we use at least once a month. Kids love it and so do we. Tesco and Morrisons are only 5 mins by car, there's a car boot at the nearby racecourse too. We had a stroke of luck there one Sunday when we lost the pin off our stabliliser and managed to find someone selling a stabiliser for £4 we were well chuffed. I would happily recommend this site to anyone, great for families, couples and older couples too. This is well lit at night time and totally enclosed so you know your kids are safe playing here, the play area is great with a soft surface. You can wander round this site in your slippers if you wish.

Stopped here on our first touring hols in Scotland. Was a little worried when we first got there as it is so close to the town and the sat nav took us in to the collage on graduation day. But once on the site I was very surprised very clean and friendly . Pitches good size . Toilets had radio 2 playing and flowers. Very lovely.

Very Clean Utilities Block, 90 units- 4 men's & 4 Women's Showers. Is this enough? Very Large Pitches, some noise from nearby main road. Wardens very Helpful & Polite especially on the morning I was leaving when I pull the plug off my 7 core road lights cable. Really enjoyed our 6 nights here. Handy for Racecourse & Town Centre.

Lovely, well laid out site. Friendly welcome and good info on arriving from wardens. Excellent play area at bottom corner of site where most families on park were congregated. Very handy for town centre as once we found short way through country park and college campus was less than ten minute walk. Good shopping and eating out choices with lots of places to visit nearby for kids- HEADS AYR FARM PARK & LOUDON CASTLE both excellent value. All in all we will definetly be returning soon.

Excellent site. Fully deserves its 5 stars. Warm friendly welcome on arrival. Well laid out, big pitches, all hard-standing. EHU close by.
Toilet block was warm & clean. Shower cubicles had thermostatic controls, and each had a small plastic stool in the dry-part of the cubicle, which I hadn't seen anywhere before. Individual cubicles for sinks as well, each with their own shaving lights.
Several drinking water taps & waste water disposal points around the site, each having numerous rubbish bins & bottle recycling trays, with large chemical loo disposal points at each one also. Great children's playground too.
Nearly every available pitch was occupied, but it didn't't appear to be "busy" One "group" were a bit noisy late on, but the warden(s) asked them to keep it down, which they eventually did. I don't know if someone complained or not.
We were the only folding camper there, amongst all caravans and some motor-homes. Was funny to see a single green unit among all the white vans
In summary, a great site, highly recommended and we will be returning.
