My wife and I have stayed on Rockbridge 6 or 7 times over the last 5 years or so and are always excited about going back. If your looking for a big site with entertainment, playgrounds and rides for the kids, on site shops and pubs then Rockbridge is not the site for you. However if you are looking for a peaceful and tranquil site, surrounded by rolling hills, green fields, the sound of the occasional cow or sheep in the distance and light babbling of water then this Rockbridge is ideal. The Warden keeps the site immaculate and is ever helpful with local info and places to visit or the latest weather forecast. He is a genuinely top bloke and nice guy. Nothing seems too much trouble for him even to brushing off our ground sheet for us when we were sadly packing up.
The amenities are good with clean showers and toilets for each gender and the addition of a family/disabled shower room. Since Steve took over as Warden last year, toiletries have been freely laid on, at the warden's expense, including deodorant, shower gel, shampoo and soap.
There is a covered washing up area with 2 sinks and free hot running water. Also a laundry room with washer and dryer, fridge freezer for the free use of the campers and a small library of books to borrow and read while you are on site.
There is a field dedicated to electric hook ups which, as expected, has at least 1 drinking water point, and a second field mainly used by tenters with a further water point. When I phoned a few days before our recent 2 week plus stay there wasn't an available electric hook up for our use. Steve kindly loaned me his extension lead and we were able to camp in the tent field and still have electrics.
Our daughter and grand-kids stayed with us for 10 days and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor experience. A small shallow river runs round the site and our grandson spent hours skimming stones and paddling to his heart content.
What is great is the site includes a number of people who live on the site in residential homes who are most friendly and welcoming, frequently walk by and have a chat and seem to happily accept us temporary residents as part of their community. It all adds up to a relaxing, safe and totally de stressing environment.

Fantastic place to stay. All the facilities was clean and free items was placed in there just in case you had forgot to pack your wash stuff or sprays.
The warden who runs the site is a top bloke and does everything he can to help you out, he even looked up things on the net and gave us printouts as and when needed, on the day before we left I had broke my glasses and was unsure on if I would be able to drive home, as it was a bank holiday and no opticians was open he offered to let us stay on site till I managed to get replacements.
There are shops in walking distance in the town of prestige about 1 mile away. Pubs and plenty of places to eat
Fully intent to revisit in the near future.

Just returned from 4days at this wonderful site. Steve the warden made us very welcome and was always there for a chat and gave us lots of local info. Already printed out. The field has a shallow river running past it which was great for our little dog. Showers/toilet block was cleaned each day. There was a washing machine and dryer but the best thing of all was the provision of all the toiletries you could want (just in case you had forgotten anything) How thoughtful! Steve told us about a lovely walk through the fields to the town, approx 1 mile and we found the local pubs and shops very good.
A very peaceful site with a good mixture of age groups in a lovely location but within striking distance of Knighton and Gigrin Farm to see the magnificent Red Kites, a must while you are there.

We have just got back from a 5 day stay at Rockbridge and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The showers and toilet block were kept immaculately clean and tidy at all times and there was helpfully a range of toiletries you could use in case you had forgotten anything. The washing up area was under cover and there was an equally immaculately clean and tidy laundry area with fridges and a good selection of books you could borrow.
The site itself was beautifully maintained and was in a lovely setting with a couple of fields to choose from, one with a river at the bottom where our children played for hours, the river was shallow enough for them to play quite happily in Wellies on cooler days. There are resident park homes there too and one of the owners popped down for a chat with a few of us, which was nice and very friendly.
The warden was fantastic and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble, when we mentioned we were planning a visit to Hampton Court (a great day out especially if you have children of any age - the garden are fantastic and will keep them entertained for hours!) he appeared with details he had printed off the internet for us of location and events that were going on there that week - which meant we changed our plans and went the following day when they were hosting an animal experience.
Locally there is a lovely selection of shops, pubs and a wine bar in Prestiegne which is only about a mile away and you can walk from the campsite. In the town there is also a judges lodgings -well worth a visit, as is the nearby Spaceguard centre which we all found fascinating. I would thoroughly recommend the campsite to anyone wanting to see more of this beautiful area.

Stayed 3 Nights what a enjoyable time, site is in a great location with flat grass pitches that are well spaced out. Site warden Steve is friendly and takes a great pride in his work, and is on hand to assist with any questions. Toilet and shower facilities are very good, they are kept very clean with nice hot showers and complementary shower gels, shampoo's etc for you to use. Will be back to stay for sure.

We stayed here for 7 nights, this site is probably the best one we've stayed on, and we've stayed on lots! Booking was easy via email to the warden. There were 10 of us in 2 tents, (4 adults and 6 kids aged 7, 7, 9, 13, 15 and 17) there was no problem with us being next to each other.
The site is about a mile away from Presteigne, which is a lovely little town with good shops and pubs. We can thoroughly recommend both the Royal Oak and the Radnorshire Arms for food, Royal Oak a bit cheaper but both do amazing food. They gave us menus for both so we could decide what we wanted from the campsite. Although near a town, the site is lovely and quiet, no road noise. There is a river running next to it, we were camped right next to the little bridge. The river was lovely for the kids to paddle in with supervision.
One of the wardens was definitely the best warden we have come across, nothing was too much trouble for him. He was always about if we needed help or advice and went far further than expected, even offering to take us into town to the pub, which would have been 2 or 3 journeys for him! There are toiletries supplied in the washrooms(which were always clean and tidy) including shampoo, shower gel, deodorant, even toothpaste in case anyone forgets anything which we thought was a lovely touch. Plenty of leaflets and books to borrow too.
Everyone we met in the area was friendly and the countryside is beautiful. We went to Hay on Wye which is fantastic for book lovers, Ludlow Castle and town which was great and Dan-Yr-Ogof caves near Brecon which included a dinosaur park and was a big hit with the kids. Oh, and there are some perfectly placed trees for slacklining!
I honestly can't think of anything which would make this site any better, and we would definitely go again. Thanks for a great holiday! :)

An amazing campsite. Nestled on a river the site is very peaceful. Owner was very friendly. The showers and toilets were clean and include free toiletries - never seen that before.
Really recommend this site and we got it free, with their offer!
Not many other facilities and families with very young children need to be aware the river is not fenced, otherwise 10 out of 10.
It is very near Presteigne, which is a quaint little town with lovely shops

A brilliant site with a even better park warden greeted with friendliness. Loved where we were situated on the river Lugg. The grandson went fishing, bike riding and enjoyed playing ball games.
Toilet and showers clean and well looked after. The area round the site wellI kept. Nothing was too much trouble to ensure we had a great weekend, enjoyed it that much we are back there again Thursday for four days. Presteigne only a short distance with good veg shops, butcher and fresh fish shop. Kington only six miles away.
A site to definitely to recommend.

We booked on the site for one week, arrived to wonderful weather, we were greeted by Steve the site Manager, who's kindness, helpfulness & enthusiasm, made us feel really welcome.
Site was by the side of the river Lugg, trout jumping about, with views of the surrounding hills, was peaceful * relaxing.
All amenities was good, toilet & shower blocks kept clean every day, with emergency toiletries in case you forgot anything.
Local town presteigne had every thing you needed, butchers, fishmongers & local pubs to sample.
Had a good meal at the Royal Oak, landlady gave us a lift back to the campsite, everyone was so friendly.
Was only stopping for a week but ended up stopping for two, once again we must thank Steve for making our stay so pleasant.

We booked at rockbridge park for two nights in July to go somewhere different with our 19 month old to run around.
We arrived at the site which with sun beating down was a lovely place, I stopped outside the owners caravan but he wasn't about at that time (so I thought) so I drove round to the tent field which is where he walked round to greet us, a very warm welcome from a genuine person (not paid to be nice like bigger companies) he told us to pick anyspot we wanted and feel free to spread out. He gave us our welcome letter which was to apologise for the state of the site as it was due to be flattened etc but due to weather the work was behind by a couple of months, however. I couldn't fault the site at all, I've stayed at sites not having work done and they have been un sightly!. Luckily there was only another 2 or 3 tents in the field which is huge!. Payment was not asked for at this time although we did gladly pay so it was done.
The surrounding area is beautiful, we had a sing song from the distant sheep every night but this is never an issue. Every time the owner was passing or we passed his place he was very friendly always has time for a chat about anything and very helpful, he offered us the use of the site fridge free of charge (not sure if it was charged for ) after seeing us with a cool box full of water to cool out beers and wine! as a wine liker himself he knows warm wine just isnt good!
The facilities were spotless every day, the showers could do with a lift but only update the showers themselves. However they did exactly what a shower should do.
There were another couple of tents turn up when we were there and they were very friendly helpful people helping us with directions to the supermarkets etc, and chatting to and being very patient with our little one as they walked by with dogs as she loves animals!a couple of the others weren't so friendly but each to their own.
We took the drive to Aberystwyth for a day at the beach this unfortunately wast really very good as it was to stony and we couldn't find a ramp to get down to it as carrying the pram wasn't an option. However we walked round the town and had ice cream so all was good.
I would recommend this site if you want to sit and chill in peace and quiet or go walking
