Located on the outskirts of a small village. Diss is the nearest town which is only 15 minutes by car, and there are a couple of major supermarkets in the town to stock up on provisions.
Very quiet location except for the odd lorry passing by, but nothing to be concerned about. The staff were very accommodating. I went by motorbike and they allowed me to use their facilities to clean it after a wet ride up there. Pitches were spacious, without feeling cramped next to your neighbours. The shop opens for short periods three times a day, which would have been more useful if it had been open for longer periods of time.
Our only really problem was the shower / toilet block. It was clean and we didn't have to queue to use the facilities, but, it was a lottery with getting a hot shower, and there was never any soap to wash your hands after using the toilet. This meant you had to remember to take your own soap with you each time. Considering their pitch fees, I felt this was something that should have been thought of in advance.
If you are looking for a quiet , relaxing stay then I would recommend it, but you do have to travel if you wish to see anything with a a few exceptions.
Would we return? Yes, but please sort out the plumbing.

Stayed five nights and found the owners friendly and willing to help. However, the showers were extremely basic and not effective and whilst showering all your clothes get soaked as nowhere to put them. Also, the toilets were dirty, leaked and obviously not cleaned! The washing up area left a lot to be desired with a pathetic hot tap on a 10 second timer. The restaurant was friendly but the food was expensive for what was served. Lots of dogs barking all night. The shop was very small and basic and expensive. Overall the site needs modernising. On top of all that it is an overpriced campsite.

Just returned from a weeks holiday at this small, friendly, family run site. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and there was a very relaxed atmosphere. The facilities were very adequate (good hot showers) and spotlessly clean. All the units on site whether caravan or tent were very well spaced out, and there was loads of room for the children to play ball games etc, or to use the small play area. The on site pub was a friendly place to have a drink, and all the family were welcomed. It also served good food, reasonably priced. All major towns,i.E Ipswich, Lowestoft, Thetford and Yarmouth were within 30-45 mins away. Diss was the nearest town for bigger shops i.E Tesco, Morrisons etc.
On site outdoor swimming pool had lots of use.
A good time was had by all the 3 families concerned and it was a pleasure not to be deafened by loud music and costly arcades. Would recommend this site for a good relaxing holiday.
We will return.

Just Returned from 3 Nights/4 days at this camping site.
The facilities (Shower, toilets, Swimming pool) were all neat and tidy. Clean all the time and pleasant.
The shop is tiny! But stocks a decent range of products and I felt the price was fair.
The Swimming pool is outdoors and not heated, not that it was a problem for the two children I had with us! They spent, literally, hours in there. A very welcome addition to a quite small outfit.
There is the opportunity on-site to go horse-riding with the owners. We took advantage of this and sent my daughter and her friend horse-riding. This is again a most welcome addition and they both had a great time riding in the local countryside [Around 1 & 1/2 hrs or so]
The on-site restaurant and pub are very quaint and very very pleasant! A Full 3-course meal [All from the adult menu] along with drinks was a fair £65. Not too bad in my opinion.
Public house nearby called the Half Moon was good, but other's told me that things can get a little slap-dash when it gets very busy. So might be a case of booking a table and making it a little earlier. Tesco / Morrisons and other stores available in Diss it's self, just around 10 miles away.
The owners [Older gentleman and wife, along with his adult children] Were very pleasant, kind and warm. Always happy to take the time to chat.
We were lucky enough to be shown the 18 puppies that were on-site at the time! [The dogs made little noise, and were a most welcome on-site addition and made one feel quite secure]
This particular place appears to attract more mature and/or responsible types. We saw no anti social behaviour and/or problems.
The pitches are amazingly generous (A picture of my setup can be seen under my profile).
All in all a great time had by my family, and it was a real relaxing time.
A heartily recommended 9/10. Quiet and relaxing!

Just returned from a very enjoyable trip at waveney valley holiday park. Very friendly staff and made us feel very welcomed. There are 2 shower blocks each with 2 showers and 2 toilets within them which doesn't seem many, but there was never any queing. A small shop which sells the basics. We tried the pub a few times which doesn't look very appealing from the outside but is very cosy and relaxing inside. The restaurant was the best food we have tried on any campsite and is very reasonably priced with fresh produce from the local farms. Take-aways are avaliable and breakfasts made to order in the morning. We even got to chose where we pitched and we had plenty of space around us which was great! Overall I would give this site a 7/10.

We have just returned from here this morning. The staff were very good and certainly did all they could to make us welcome. The toilets were clean at all times and the water always warm whether for showering or doing your washing up. Horse riding was a great thing for the children, ours are very young and loved it. The onsite shop sells the basics which was a godsend for us! The pool was cold but it is only May! The playpark was the only thing I didn't like as the swings were wonky and covered in bird crap, but the slide was very much enjoyed by our children. I am an overprotective parent, but I felt very safe letting the kids run around here as we could always see them. It was brilliant not to have arcades etc. To ruin things and I pray the owners don't alter that. Our kids made friends there very quickly and it was refreshing to see kids playing on bikes and ball games together. All in all I was pleased with our visit here and it is ideal for families who don't want an all singing all dancing 'Butlins' type affair going on around them! A good cross section of people staying here from all over the country.

19th July 2007 We Just had a fantastic weekend here at Waveney Valley Holiday Park, really friendly site plus the kids enjoyed it so much. There was no arcade for the kids they just played in around the campsite and didn't keep asking for money for machine all the time its was so nice. We went with five other couples and we had the whole of the front field pitch to ourselves, they put new arrivals in the other field. The owners were so helpful, the kids had so much space to play football and other ball games. I would recommend to anyone this site because its friendly quite, and the other thing its not all arcades its just peace and quite and very safe for children to have fun.

Stayed here with friends for a weekend and enjoyed our stay but found facilities basic. The field we stayed on was nice with perimeter pitching which gave the children plenty of space to play. Did not use the play equipment on the field at the entrance as overgrown and next to a field with what looked like permanent tourers on which were a bit scruffy. There was no hot water in the washing up area but the toilet's were adequate. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We visited Diss, which was a nice little town and also went to the Leisure Pool at Thetford which we really enjoyed. Did not use the pool on the site as did not look very inviting. Nice surrounding area but site could do with some updating.

We spent 2 nights here with our toddler and enjoyed it immensely, we camped in the back field which was a mix of electric and non-electric hook ups and it was not busy at all, (7 or 8 tents in all) all tents pitched around the edge of the field looking inwards was far better than the rows of tents etc we have been used to and enabled us to give our toddler a bit more freedom to play but we could still keep a very close eye oh her, the campsite has a very relaxed atmosphere, everyone was friendly, kiddies playground was near the entrance was small but we knew this from the website description both this and the pool advised kids to be supervised by parents which is a good thing. shower/toilet block kept clean (only 2 toilets and 2 showers in the ladies) but no queues though, the only gripe was the lack of hot water though, was ok if you were first in the shower or first to wash up, but ran out extremely quickly & would be a big problem if site was busier, 4 sinks in main washing up area but only one plug ! problem soon solved though with the aid of a kettle of hot water and some loo roll to use as a plug, used the swimming pool on the last day as weather was better water was cold but refreshing Bar was very cosy and friendly, we did not eat in there but was told the food was good, it was lovely to have the horses right by us and the dawn chorus was spectacular but did not wake the little one, all in all the site was lovely and quiet which makes a change from the bigger more commercialised sites, will be going back again next time for a longer stay.

I have had a week here with my children. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff were very friendly although If the camp shop was shut you could spend quite a while locating anyone. The local farm shop sold excellent fresh meat and vegetables.
The horse riding was excellent with very calm horses and ponies. The facilities were basic but clean and well maintained. They are being improved bit by bit apparently. The washing up area was OK but the water for this was generally cold. Tip: fill your bowl from the toilet block if you want hot water! The showers took a bit of getting used to and were all the better if the facilities block door was closed against the draught.
A very noisy dawn chorus of birds as well as clay pigeon shooting! There were large pet dogs around the field and stables not ideal if you had toddlers but they appeared friendly and did not bother us much aside from one wandering into our tent now and again. Definitely a site for animal lovers.
Lots of quiet country lanes to cycle or walk down. The pub on site was child friendly but did allow smoking. The food was good in the pub too.
