Just returned after a bank holiday break to haggie and I don't know if I should laugh or cry. When booking you are told you can have up to eight passes per pitch to enter the complex but when I enquired at the touring reception the lovely lady told me it was two per pitch, so these passes cost £28.50 for adults and £14.50 for kids, so make sure you get your full allocation when booking, not from the reception on site.
On reading previous reviews some people have suggested putting a play area in the touring section I must say that's a bad idea it's bad enough having groups of kids running through the caravan pitches nevermind having a place for them to congregate at night.
Haven at the moment are bashing on about spending £1.6 million on the park, but practically none of this has been spent on the touring side, a few bits of badly laid turf that's about it I'm afraid. What they need to do is to bulldoze all the touring park and start again, a blank canvass, bigger but fewer pitches, more room for everybody, instead of everybody being crammed in on top of each other.

Massive site with lots to do if you've got young kids. Toilets were ok for the touring area and for the price we paid well worth the money. Our kids just loved it. It was a September weekend and it was nice weather and the we were in the outdoor heated pool at 10am on Saturday morning. It was so unbelievable but brill. The usual haven stuff at the complex but dear as you would expect. Would go again because pitch prices are very cheap which outweighs bad comments from others.

Thought I would never return to this site but as my daughter wanted to come I gave in. But I was pleasantly surprised. There seamed to be an effort to try and improve the touring area. There was a warden in attendance doing the usual litter pick and just making his presents known. (In a nice reassuring way). There were efforts made to keep the toilets clean. No spotless but certainly a lot cleaner that the last time.
The park is in a nice setting and the pony rides are the big attraction for my daughter. Apart from that been to one haven and you been to them all. The only thing that changes is the location.
I think with some effort this could be a good touring park. The main trouble with the toilets is they are old and grubby so no matter how much cleaning they will never look good. Go on Haven splash the cash and give the toilets a refurbish and your half way there. Then build a small play area a few swings, slid etc. In the middle of the touring pitch and you would be onto a winner. You could even charge normal prices instead of enticing people with cheap deals.

Really awful. We completed a trek in Scotland over to the outer hebrides here and wished we had gone home!
The site is dirty, full of unemptied bins and not good at all. I took my 6 year old to the toilet and it was disgusting and this was at 4pm, we washed our hands in the motorhome and did not use any more facilities.
The boys wanted to swim but no chance for an overnight stay as you have to book a slot very well in advance as with all of the activities. The only thing we managed to get on was a 4 seater bike which took an hours wait and this was only because we were lucky as it had been raining!
We ordered a bottle of simple white wine but it was sold out so was our second choice and so were the boys drinks.
It was an early night and a quick get away.

Went to this site after staying here a few times as a kid / teenager, but I'd always stayed in a static caravan.
Staying in our newly bought tourer as our first ever trip was a wholly different experience.
The toilets were horrible - dirty and dated. The toilets actually made me feel sick. Showers were dirty, muddy and generally not a nice experience.
I know it was no fault of theirs, but the bad weather made the pitches a horrible, muddy, slippy marshland. Could do with some gravel pathways or hardstanding areas, as we had to pick up our dog, and try to carry her across the grass without falling over in the mud.
A stay here is cheap though - but I suppose you get what you pay for.
Overall, not a very nice experience - which in fact, made us join the caravan club.

We stayed in one of their own static caravans, which was clean and bearably comfortable. The touring pitch area looked lovely, with nice woodland and trees planted throughout the area. Some of the facilities were excellent and some really poor
Good first =
Brilliant cafe situated at the golf course
Pool was really warm, ideal for a young children
Ponies and Horses were fantastic
There was loads of wildlife around the pond and if wanted kids were allowed to go pond dipping
Majority of staff were helpful and friendly
Bad =
Pool was only available for use for 45 mins either in the morning or afternoon (because demand out weighed availability) Staff were cleaning as people were trying to get dressed (ie pouring chemicals on the floor) and the slides were only open for part of the swim session!
The restaurants and outside terrace were filthy
You had to traverse an arcade games forest to get to any of the facilities, including the play park
Play park only had 2 toddler swings and 2 adult swings and a mini chute and a huge climbing frame
On the whole wouldn't go back, but still had a nice holiday. If you have time take a trip to Alnwick castle gardens, absolutely brilliant for old and young ( but, remember to take a change of clothes) Also the 12 guage railway from Heatherslaw was a good day out and I would thoroughly recommend the lavender tea rooms at the next stop

Booked for great price, Friday to Mon £48. Great touring pitch in the wood area, plenty space for grandson to run about, toilets clean. Haven site lots to do , but lots of money too. Daughter said kids entertainment was good. Our pitch was the route for the ponies and horse rides.
If you like to have a bit of peace and quite on a haven site I would ask for the wooded area, we were pitch 100, hard standing with elec.
Good beach 5 mins away in Scremerston. Chippy good, shop supplies good. And best of all we had brill weather.

We've just returned from a 5 day holiday at this site. The caravans do seem close together at first glance but we had our awning up, then an enclosure of windbreaks and there was still room for people to walk past easily.
The toilets were cleaned twice a day but in between do tend to get really muddy and grubby just because of the number of people using them.
Yes the site is designed to get as much money as possible out of you but what do you expect when you go somewhere like haven? The kids did enjoy the entertainment provided and if you send them to the kids club during the day you need never see them. They also enjoyed the horse riding, climbing walls etc. We also went out on a couple of day trips including a boat trip to the farne islands which was great. The sight of all the seals basking on the rocks was fantastic.
One thing I was impressed with in the entertainment complex was the kids drinks. On the first evening we bought ours a yard of coke each. Refills were only £1.99 (good when you see the size of the containers) but we filled them up before we went to the club each night and the security guards were quite happy to let the kids in carrying the already filled containers.
The only downsides we found was that we did have to be in the club by 5.30 if we wanted a seat for the show and when we came to pack up we couldn't get our electrical cable unplugged, it turned out some joker had decided to glue it into the socket. The camp were great and sent electricians over to sort it out with the assurance they would dismantle the power unit if necessary. With a bit of brute force they did manage to free it. Obviously there was nothing the site could have done to prevent that but they were good at sorting it out for us.
We wouldn't use this site for regular breaks as it does work out expensive, but as a once a year treat for the kids it's great and we will return

Just returned from a 2 night stay (sat 23 and sun 24) May bank holiday weekend. We have 4 small children and a 1997 21 foot ABI Dalesman (new to caravanning). Overall a very positive stay and will definitely return.
We left it until the last minute as usual, and phoned dozens of sites who were unable to accommodate us. I then rang Haggerston / Haven expecting another rejection but was pleasantly dealt with and booked for the 2 nights for £52.50 (including passes, awning, hook up etc) which I thought was very reasonable indeed (mind you according to the web site prices this was half price).
The pitches are all very close together on the main touring field, but as the ones either side were empty this wasn't a problem really, however next time we commented that we would ask for the other area behind the touring reception which was more spacious and set more informally.
The kids made friends easily, we hired daisy bikes (£8 for 1/2 hr, £20 deposit) and the kids went on a 1/2 hr pony ride £10 , the weather was fab !The playground (accessed through Carnabys) is excellent and the large pool deck area is lovely. Not usually our thing but we went to 2 children's shows which they loved and were on at 6.25pm, not too late for our 4 little ones. There is also a Burger King albeit more pricey that usual ones.
We found the shower blocks clean and warm and served us well for our families needs. We weren't too keen on the 2 'fun' inflatable areas on the park which were a bit amateurish and expensive. However the climbing wall / bungee £4 were very good. The shop was very large and well stocked, especially for baby / kids stuff.
There was a fair bit of noise in the 'club style' returning at night but like I say would request the other area next time. Overall would recommend!

Just returned from a 4 night short break, Monday to Thursday. We only booked because, out of season, Haven give exceptional value - £24 for a hardstanding pitch with awning space and electric hook-up. In high season the same pitch is £129.60 (over £30 per night!)
The site is well sign-posted and easily found, directly off the A1. The drive into the site is very nice - lots of trees, woodland etc. Which makes you feel you've chose well and it'll be a nice site. The surrounding area is lovely, close to Berwick-upon-Tweed, Holy Island, Alnwick Castle etc.
The touring area is spacious and fairly well set out. There are toilet / shower blocks, refuse disposal, fresh water supply, domestic waste water disposal and chemical toilet disposal facilities.
If all you need is somewhere to base yourself and you are not too particular about standards, then this is the place for you because standards are only fairly basic, on the touring park. All these facilities are in need of an upgrade, they're okay and functional but that's as good as it gets. The showers are too small and poorly designed (but to be fair a lot of sites are like that.)
There is nothing within walking distance and so you are a 'captive audience' for Haven. It seems like the main purpose of this site, like all other Haven sites I have stayed on, is to see how much of your money they can get out of your pocket into theirs.
The site has several bars and fast food outlets, all in my opinion with ridiculous prices (e.G 35p for an extra dash of coke in a vodka and coke - to bring the measure up to 3/4 full), but to access any of them you have to walk through an amusement arcade with deafening loud machines and loads of flashing lights - all designed to get the kids saying 'Mum / dad, can I have?'
The site has wi-fi connection which is very convenient because you can watch TV on the internet, as TV reception on my pitch was rubbish. Haven advertise the wi-fi (when it's working) as being available at 'an additional moderate charge'. Who decides on what is moderate, the Sultan of Brunei? £5 for one hour, yes just one hour, £10 for one day or £20 for 3 days. In my opinion this is extortionate.
All in all, although I seem to have slated the place, if you know how to control your wallet it's quite a good site - out of season. In high season you must have more money then sense to stay here.
