Stayed at this site for the weekend with friends. Owners very friendly and helpful. Showers very hot and clean also clean toilets. Play area not very big but kids had a great time anyway. Tent pitch is at the bottom of camp and horses in field next to camp as business stables next door to site.
Nice and quiet at night and lots to see and do. Country walks and dog walking also not very far to shops and pub / restaurant 2 for 1 just down the road. Had a fantastic stay and would come back.

Eventually found the site, desperate for the loo (as usual!) facilities were clean but old & shabby no handsoap either. Warden showed us to tent field. We passed loads of seasonal touring caravans quite cramped really. Got to small tent field. It was badly drained in places with lumps & bumps.
There were electric hook-ups on the only flattish bit, don't know if the rain would run down the slope to those though. We pitched at top of slope, without electric, tent field an afterthought to main caravan business.
No noise rule after 12! which wasn't obeyed. Nice walks away from site though so not all bad.I will not be returning though.

We went here to spend a weekend seeing the illuminations in Blackpool.

A nice enough site, at the end of a narrow and bumpy road - so take your time along these lanes with a caravan on the back!

Wardens were friendly and showed us to our pitch - which was very wet (although it is that time of year) but the site doesn't drain well - everything was covered in mud very quickly. We were also pitched right under the 100 million trillion volt lines that buzz and crackle their way across the site.

Toilet blocks are clean but old and a bit shabby.

The pitches were very small - with the awning up there was not room for the car as the awning opened more or less into the next caravan!

When we arrived it looked like the site was full (but they still crammed a few more in) but this was mostly due to the fact that most of the touring vans on this site are set up permanently - either with people living in them or using them as non-mobile weekend cottages.

For what we wanted the site was OK - but when it rains it's very boggy and it's not in a pretty spot either - but as a base for spending a day or two in Blackpool it's OK and not expensive.

The site is small, clean and quiet. The people who run it are pleasant and very helpful.

There are electric showers which use tokens (25p) 2 showers per male and female Toilet blocks. The toilet blocks have electric sockets and the electricity is free.

My wife really liked the basic rustic friendly feeling of this site and would gladly go back.

The down side is a lot of country roads, you need detailed travel instructions from the friendly camp site staff to find this little camp site.

Site was small, friendly and quiet, tent field is on a slight slope but it wasnt a problem. It rained a lot on our first day so it was almost a blessing. There is a feild of horses next to tents but they werent a problem, our little girl loved them. There is a large pylon almost in the tent field which does buzz when it rains. But to be honest you dont really notice it. The toilet block is a fair walk, it is clean but needs updating. Cost us £16 p/night for a 6 man tent.

Site was difficult to find even with a sat nav, but got there after asking directions from near by campsite, ( drive in to stanah county park, pass the first car park then you reach a height barrier, just befor the barrier is their sign for the site )

Was given a warm welcome from site warden as we arrived, shown to camping field where we could choose anywhere to pitch our tents. Slight slope to field in places which we found out later in the evening after feeling as though we were rolling up hill to stay on airbed (Ha Ha).

The camping field I must admit was a bit of a walk from the toilet / shower block. The showers are available and cost 25p per token, the warden will advise you buy a £1 worth and will refund any unused tokens, I had 2 lovely showers, but my friend did end up with 1 shower that ran only cold water!

There is a Pylon to the edge/middle of the field. At first glance it looks a bit of an eyesore, however this did not in anyway annoy or bother us.

There is a horse training business at the entrance of the site and you will see the horses taken for exercise in an ajoining field past the camping field. They are not noisy and do not affect your stay.

Overall we had a great time with lovely weather, a peaceful friendly site, within easy reach of Poulton le Fyde and Blackpool.

This site was quiet and friendly. I got a good welcome and shown where I could pitch and given freedom as to where I wanted to go. The showers were 25p tokens, but worth the money on a generous timer, about 10 minutes.

The place needs to liaise with the Kneps farm site next door to get good local signposting from the A road through the back streets to the two sites. The poor woman spent most of her phone time directing people to the place, including me twice!

Two slight cons were the shop was poorly stocked (although I did get a free bag of old and sticky jelly beans from them!) and that the grass was recently cut, but was left down, meaning I collected a lot of grass into my tent.

Such minor quibbles are not to spoil the site. It was a very pleasant couple of days there and I would recommend it to others in the area.

We stayed for one night at this site after a holiday in the Lakes. The aim of our stay was to visit Blackpool for the illuminations and so we wanted a handy location more than anything else. However, this is a friendly relaxed site.

We were directed to a field at the end of the caravan park. The two are separated by trees and it felt reasonably private. There is an electricity pylon at the edge of the field but this didn't bother us. It made a few clicks and buzzed a little but after a night out in Blackpool we slept like babies.

Toilets and showers were clean. Showers take a 25p token and you can get a refund on unspent tokens before you leave. There were toilet rolls but no soap by the sinks. This is irritating and unnecessary since soap is so cheap. Most people don't think to bring soap to the toilet block unless they're going for a shower.

Site managers are friendly and helpful and sketched a map for us when they knew we intended cycling into Blackpool for the evening. I must say it is a great way to get in and out of town. Its about two miles to Cleveleys from the site and from there you can cycle along the traffic free promenade to the Tower (about another 2 to 3 miles).

I would recommend this as a great place to base yourself for visitng Blackpool and in addition it is right next to the Wyre Estuary country park which seems to attract walkers, twitchers and boating enthusiasts.

Stayed for 3 nights and was charged £ 13 per night- the tent field is not flat so be prepared to wake up halfway down your tent! Toilets are dated and a little scruffy but they serve their purpose I suppose. Reception / shop is closed much of the day but a bell will summon the managers, well thats the theory anyway as they didnt always respond to the bell The managers of the site actually live in a static van on site and are friendly and helpful. The kids playground was a disappointment, it was old, and consists of two old swings and a climbing frame/slide - very basic and needing major investment ,even if that means increasing fees !

There are electricity pylons running right  through the site and a slight humming noise can always be heard ,but they dont spoil your sleep, I have earplugs!

I was disappointed with this site, its dated, scruffy and lacking facilities, but its location for seeing blackpool is great.

We stayed for two nights, this is our 3rd visit, Doreen and Arnie made us very welcome. Very clean and friendly, cant wait till next year so we can go back. Clean and showers, local to shops and local pub - 2 for 1 deals. Estuary and only 15 min drive from blackpool sea front
