We went as a family of 5 consisting of 2 adults and 3 children aged 10,12 and 14 plus the dog! We went as had some vouchers and at this time of year the site is not too expensive so only cost £19 for us all a night.

The weather was glorious and the bay and hill overlooking the Llyn Penninsula and Ynys Mon was a lovely walk and we watched the sunsetting- we could've been abroad.

However the campsite left a lot to be desired, especially looking at the prices that hike right up in a few weeks. The toilet block was out of order and the smaller toilet block was a real hike. Luckily as we were in the caravan it wasn't too much of a bother but we also use our tent in good weather and agreed we would not do this here.

The toilets had no soap in and the mens toilets, I was informed by my husband and step sons, were filthy the whole weekend. The site was fairly quiet so if it's in this state at the beginning of the holiday season I wouldn't like to be using these facilities when it's busy!

The 'games room' was in the pub and had a few 50p pool tables and slot machines which attracted the more well oiled of the pub customers so we didn't stay in there long. The outdoor heated pool was luke warm and was lovely and sunny so the kids were in whilst we sat at the side. The only time I saw staff on the site was briefly for 5 mins at the pool where she shouted at the kids not to jump in off the side - there were 5 children in and all had been jumping in -which they continued to do when she left. Again it was fairly quiet at the pool but would be heaving in the busier times and would cost you a lot more to stay!

There was also some building work going on but it looked abandoned and the orange gates to keep it safe looked like they had been blown over and strewn around a few weeks before and just left where they fell, making the place look unsightly.

All in all, we won't be going back there, even if we had discount vouchers. We have stayed at better, cleaner, friendlier sites, even if they didn't have an outdoor heated pool at least the loos and showers were clean. For what they charge normally I would be asking for my money back.

Have just returned from Easter weekend at this site. I telephoned about 2 weeks previously and was told that the site was full but they could offer us a hardstanding seasonal pitch instead. They said these were large pitches.

On arrival, we were a bit surprised. The seasonal touring pitches were basically surrounding a muddy waterlogged field and the road around the field was stoned and covered in mud and slutch. The pitches were not what we would consider large, they only just fitted the caravan and awning and the car had to be parked on the road in front which meant that anyone driving passed had to veer onto the muddy grass. The water point was in the middle of the waterlogged field with no path. Everything was covered in mud.

The children's play area was close by and was quite good. The outdoor swimming pool was unbelievably warm, apart from one day when the boiler had broke which the staff became aware of and tried to fix but in the meantime, there were no signs put outside the entrance to the pool and my children went in and jumped in. Needless to say, they came right out.

The toilet blocks were not up to caravan club standards, but I have seen much worse. However, a major gripe was that on numerous occasions there was no handwash in either the mens or ladies toilets. The shower block was not heated but the showers were hot.

Site is very close to a lovely beach. There is a chip shop just round the corner from the site but the chips were awful, just a box full of scratchings really, and pricey too £2 a box.

We have been going to Dinlle for the last six years and will be going again in 2010. Never had such bad weather and have been advised that the camping fields are to have the drainage sorted during the closed season. Great time had by all usually. 6 year old loves the beach and heated pool. Other campers friendly and staff helpful - this year under difficult circumstances. If all showers in use then water supply can be inefficient and cool. Plenty to do in area. Unfortunately, no food served in pub or on site.

This is the second time we've been to dinelle and it doesn't disappoint us with its friendly staff and the clean shower / toilet block but I would recommend to use the other shower block which is empty most times,i have a sad feeling that this site will be just statics soon as they are putting more statics on there and using up the touring area's,but its still worth going.
They also advertise free wi/fi which is not worth going on the internet as it would be like waiting for the tide to come in (yep its really slow)

We camped at this site over a long weekend on the bank holiday in August. After battling against the wind we finally got two large tents up, and in one piece. This was the first time we had visited this site which is quite open in some areas for tents, the more sheltered spots seemed to be for caravans.

On the positive the pub was good and although the weather was not on our side we did use the outdoor heated pool which was child free first thing in the morning.

The site had obviously had a problem with drainage in the past and we found that we had a path of small stones under the living area of our tent, as our tent is quite large there was nothing we could do about this. The site is close to the beach with some nice walks and views nearby.

The only thing that really spoilt our break was the weather which got worse by the day, by the time we had packed up to go home we all looked as if we had been to a festival wet and covered in mud! What a shame.

We would certainly visit this area of Wales again, fantastic scenery and lots to do. However, we would not go back to this site. When we arrived we asked if there was a quieter pitch available. We were told there wasn't as it was going to be a busy weekend. Not true! there were a number available and not used during the whole period we were there.

It has almost 200 pitches and yet only one toilet block with only 7 cubicles in the Gents. The one and only toilet disposal area was very smelly with cracked and broken tiles.

The local shops and facilities are run down and limited in variety.

Good swimming pool and bar

At £30 per night for a fully serviced pitch, this is a most expensive site

Upon arrival we were told that new land drains had been installed on our pitch due to the wet summer last year, after a couple of hours rain the pitch turned into a what can only be described as a bog. Staff were very friendly and helpful. No shop on site but there is a club house, drinks fosters is £2.20 a pint but went up to £2.50 while we were there. Make sure you take cash with you as none of the local shops take cards and the camp site charges £1.85 for cashback for a maximum of £40. Had a pizza from the cafe furthest away from the campsite and I can only describe it as awful. Did go for a meal at the dingles pub which is about a 10min walk away and despite the name and exterior appearance of the place it was very enjoyable with really friendly staff. The showers were great lovely and hot if you were the only person in there otherwise you got a lukewarm trickle

Booked for a couple of nights on our way home. This is a big caravan park (statics) with a big tourer side.

Shower block clean and showers nice and hot. Laundry facilities good too. No food available on site but short walk to caernarfon bay where there is a chippie and newsagents.

There is a clubhouse on site although we didn't go. It looked ok though.

We only stayed the one night as we had a family drama at home but we were promised a credit on account for the night we paid for and not used.

Not sure we would revisit as it is not our type of site, too commercial for me. A nice clean site though.

We really enjoyed our stay here during the May half-term. We stayed Tuesday to Saturday after the bank holiday and did not want to go home. The outdoor swimming pool was lovely and warm and my son loved the open space in front of our tent and also the park.

Dinas Dinlle is a lovely place and the sea is extremely clean. Lots of time was spent at the beach as we had a couple of nice days. The nearest shop was only a 10 minute walk from the site on the beach front, but the choice of groceries was limited. We mainly got our food from the Tesco in Caernarfon which was only a 10 minute drive away and went to the chippy down the road which was ok.

There was a clubroom which was really sweet and reasonably priced with some entertainment which was nice for the children.

We had a really good time and my 5 year old son keeps nagging to go back.

The only minor point I would make is that it was quite a distance from our pitch to the toilets/showers/washing up, but on the plus side, it was pretty quiet and there seemed to be more space to run around. Will visit again.

Visited this site in the kids hollidays, friends of ours come every year and I can see why. Fantastic outdoor pool lovely and warm, great bar and a cracking pint.
Again only downside is the lack of food onsite but a good chippie down the road and Tesco only a short drive away.
Showers nice and clean plenty of hot water will go back. If you have young children take them to Gypsy Wood which is nearby they will love it.
