First camping trip at 50 yrs old with my partner and our 14 year old son. We were only able to stay 2 nights but I can recommend this park very much. We chose a pitch with electric hook up and were fortunate to be allocated 74 which was an excellent flat pitch as all seem to be, backing on to a hedge close by to the excellent facility block. I am told this is new there are plenty of showers and toilets all free and very clean with no queueing and there is also a dish washing area with piping hot water and a launderette which is coin operated for the machines and driers. There are 2 games rooms and a family bar/enterainment room. A bit noisy in there for me but the crowd seem to be enjoying the bingo and a play your cards right quiz. The adults only bar is particularly nice and we were lucky to be able to sit in here one night as our son found a mate to "hang around with" As previous posts the shops are quite dismal but there is a tesco in caernarfon and good eating out pubs close by. Security on the park is good with the barrier system on entry and exit. £10 deposit needed for the pass. It is a good central base for seeing what Gwynedd has to offer. In 2 days we visited Porthmadoc and Pwlellhi . Loads more to see a week definitely required Would definitely go back to this site.

For our first ever camping trip we booked 3 nights at Dinlle Caravan Park during the first week of the school holidays. First impressions were very good - attractive flower beds, well maintained buildings, no litter, extremely friendly staff, secure access via barriers with a swipe card. Dinlle is a large site divided up by grass banks into smaller sections, so the pitches are functional rather than picturesque. Very flat, easy to pitch, no problem. The shower and toilet block is open all the time and is cleaned regularly. There were never any queues for the facilities even though the site was full to capacity. The local beach is excellent. The beach is huge and there are some lovely walks along the coastal path. The sand and water are the cleanest I've experienced in North Wales. The bars/games rooms/outdoor heated pool/playground were all good - no complaints there. The only thing that I thought was lacking is a shop. There is no shop on site and the local shops in Dinas Dinlle (a few minutes walk away) can only be described as poor (small half-hearted affairs with plenty of beach goods, tacky gifts, a few very basic groceries and not much else). A couple of fish & chip shops and an Indian restaurant are the only other local facilities. I would recommend the chippy furthest from the site, at the end of the beach car park, rather than the nearest one. My only real criticism of Dinlle Caravan Park is that they do not empty the rubbish bins properly. Our pitch was right next to the bin (a large commercial wheely-bin with a lid). It seems they have only a couple of proper collections a week. In between times, they come and remove the top layer of rubbish by hand to create a bit more room in the bin. The trouble is that they don't remove enough, so within a couple of hours it's overflowing again. This is basic stuff, and I've seen it mentioned on a previous review on here. Why they can't get to grips with it i do not know! All in all we had a lovely time at Dinlle, so much so that we extended our stay to include a fourth night. This is a site geared towards families, so if you want a quiet, peaceful time it's probably not for you, but for us it was really enjoyable.

Just came back from Dinlle and had a fantastic time and made plenty of friends while we where there and the staff were really helpful. There's a heated swimming pool for the kids, who where never out of it, 2 games rooms and 2 bars, one was just for adults only which was nice to relax in and the other where you could sit in with the kids. There's plenty of entertainment (live band, Quiz night, bingo night, disco night) and they have theme weeks, we've just had New Year in July? sounds mad but it was great. It's well worth a visit we plan to go back next year !

I went to this site for a week and the first day it was gorgeous! It wasn't the first time I'd been but we set up and just sat and sunbathed. The facilities at this campsite are fairly good but there are quite a lot of spiders by the toilets which isn't too nice at night as they all hang from their webs and I am scared of spiders, other than that they are excellent. I think that the showers are very clean and warm water which is good as it runs all day and the toilets them selves are clean too. The pool area is great however I did not go for a swim this time. The club is a great place to get away to play pool or some games or something and there is a gazebo opposite which I like to sit in. The beach is only across the road from the site so you can go up there when you want and there are shops and ice cream parlous near by and a chippy. The weather wasn't that good during the week until the last day but it was still good and I still had fun. We went for walks up the big hill down the road from the site which is good exercise and there is also a little park near there whic is good for young children and a pub which is not far away. Over all it was a great holiday and I cant wait till we go there next year.

Stayed on this site for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Kids loved the pool and although no playground on site there is one about 5 minutes walk away. Lovely beach just as you turn into the site so kids enjoyed that too. Toilets and showers both very clean and plenty of them we never needed to queue. All in all good site and we would go back.

We took the children camping to this site after the Bank Holiday. The reception staff were extremely helpful and very polite. The site itself is very clean and spacious. Our camping pitch was clearer marked and of a good size. The toilets/Showers were immaculate, the best toilet facilities we have seen at a campsite yet. The pool was brilliant for the kids, especially with it being heated. They also had an adult supervising the pool which was very reassuring.
There play areas situated throughout the site for kids, and there is also a games room. The beach is less than 5 minutes walk away. The only negative for me is that there isn't any on-site shop. There are shops locally, but it would be much better if there we located within the site. I would definitely recommend this site to anyone.

May 2005 Went for the May Bank Holiday, unfortunately had had very bad weather and much of the site was wet and boggy, we were allocated a hardstanding but had to travel across boggy grass, we are a motorhome and would have got stuck. Unfortunately I had not indicated on my form that I was a motorhome so my fault really (although no one rang me to check?). Ladies on reception were very helpful and eventually found us something suitable. The site is in a great location if the weather is good as you have a lovely beach just across the road, the pool is clean and larger than usual, it was also heated which was a blessing. No shop on site although a few just outside. If the weather is bad not a lot to do unless you drive out. Would like to go again ans was imressed with the place, just not with the weather.

August 2004 This is a large campsite popular with families and groups of young people. We were kept awake until the early hours on our first night due to a large group of very noisy teenagers in the tent next to us. The next morning I complained to the reception who advised me they had already spoken to this group the previous day, the campsite immediately asked the teenagers to leave. The reception confirmed that there should be no noise from any of the visitors after 1130pm (the bar closes at 11pm), however this info cannot be found on any signs or on any of the sites information leaflets.
The toilet blocks are average and showers are looking very tired and ready for a re-fit! If you do book into this site I recommend you request to be away from the rubbish bins as these are not properly emptied each day, instead about 5pm each day 2 of the site workers come round and manually lift out the top layer of rubbish from the bins leaving the rest of smelly rubbish inside with lots of flys and wasps hanging around.
On the plus side for the camp site the outdoor pool is great and is like a warm bath. The site is set across the road from a fantastic long beach (sandy when the tide is out). There are 2 fish and chip shops & and an Indian restaurant within walking distance and a lovely pub with freshly made food in the nearby village of LLandrog...well worth a visit!

July 2004 Something for everybody, well maintained. very clean facilities, short walk from beach. Beware of local shops with high prices. Adults only swimming from 9 till 10.30 - excellent idea. Clubhouse provided a good variety of entertainment, though not always to our taste. Overall one of the best site we've visited.
