This was our second visit to this site as we really love 95% of it.
The pitches are a good size and reasonably flat.
The location is fantastic, close to everything but quiet and unspoiled.
The staff/owners are lovely and helpful.
The shop has enough for emergencies, but there are a number of supermarkets close by so no need for more.
Swimming pool was great - according to my husband.
A quiet and peaceful site with no loud campers or late night revelling.
The downside is the size of the showers - they were small and not the greatest either. It would be better to reduce to 2 decent sized showers, in our opinion.
The other disappointment on the 2nd visit was that the pitch we chose (no 3) never got any sun 1st thing in the morning or after 3 each afternoon as it was under the trees and when your camping, sitting out in the evening is one of the things you look forward to - we could only do this wrapped up in a jumper as it was just too cool in the shade.
The camping field was much sunnier the last time.

We stayed here for 2 nights early May. Make sure you follow the campsites own directions to the site (the Crowlas way is the best from the A30) as the lane down to the site is very narrow in places. The site is also quite small so no large turning areas for bigger motorhomes (like ours!). They suggest you park out on the road before pulling onto your pitch. To get to our pitch we had to drive through the site which also houses some little grey holiday bungalows and residential park homes. We had a lovely grass pitch in a small section near to the reception / shop / shower block. It can get busy in that area with cars in and out of the car parking areas (locals and their kids using the pool every day). We were greeted by nice, friendly staff in the reception. There's a little shop area in the same place, but they didn't seem to have much in (out of season?). In the same building is an excellent info area (brilliant for dog owners!), including a selection of books / games for campers use. There is also a small laundry area with washers / dryers, washing up sinks, and a free microwave for campers. The toilets and showers were spotless at all times. The showers were very powerful but were the smallest shower cubicles I've ever used! There is a small indoor pool on site for campers to use free of charge - as mentioned before the locals use it at certain times of the day so it must be good (didn't have time to try it out!). The walk to the local pub (The Fire Engine Inn @ Marazion) is up the lane - not far! The food was expensive here and not brilliant by any means. Beer / cider was good but expensive. The best things about the pub are that it's doggie friendly and the views over to St Michael's Mount are superb! Marazion town itself is a short walk from the pub. The pasties from Philips Bakery were excellent and not overpriced. You can walk across to St Michael's Mount along the causeway (tide times permitting of course). Dogs are allowed over there, in the harbour but not up in the castle or grounds. We walked along the cycle track that hugs the coastline (flat walk all the way) to Penzance (approx 3.5 miles). The walk was lovely but Penzance is a grotty town!
Major downfall with the site (which really was lovely) - they have a problem with rooks so have decided to sort it out with a bird scarer that goes off at regular intervals between 7am and 10pm! Not great if you have a dog who's very nervous of loud bangs.Especially as there is no warning! Pity really, because that is the only thing that would put us off returning to this site!

We camped there in October, needless to say, it was a bit chilly but we were prepared.
Good points:
Toilets were clean and ample Pool water was warm Pitch were flat and tidy Price is reasonable Lots to see in this part of the country Friendly staff
Points need improving
It was difficult to peg the tent. Stones or other hard materials found underneath turfed pitches. Really no big deal though

This site has lots of positives but sadly one major negative - the crows/rooks. Constant noise from 4am (when it started to get light) all day and into the night. Our pitch was to the left of the entrance under some trees and although the pitch was really good the noise was really annoying. If only we had taken earplugs with us.
The site amenities were good, with a small shop stocking essentials, in-door heated pool, showers/toilets although a bit dated were clean and worked adequately. There was an indoor washing-up room which had a couple of washing machines, driers, freezer for campers to use and even a microwave.
The location is excellent. A short walk down the lane to the first of a number of good pubs selling real ales. Our favourite being the Fire Engine, which has fantastic views across to St Michael's Mount. It was really nice to be able to go for a stroll along the beach in the evening. Well placed for trips to Penzance, Land's End and The Lizard.
To would-be visitors, take care on the lane leading to the campsite. It is very narrow in places and has a number of sharp bends.

We've just returned from a great holiday at Wheal Rodney.
The toilet and showers were kept clean and I never had to queue once during our 10 night stay. Lovely hot water too. The swimming pool made the camp site and we used it every day.
Great location. Marazion walking distance if your kids aren't too young! We visited a great pub in nearby Goldsithney (The Crown). We found that the pubs/restaurants in Marazion didn't have to try too hard because of their location. But The Crown was a little away from the tourist area and was a great traditional cornish pub with excellent food (and good beer!)
This campsite is ideal for those with young families. Everyone seemed to be asleep by 10pm and awake around 7am. Even though this is a quiet campsite my children (aged 5 and 3) made plenty of friends. Friendly dogs and cat on site too.
One slight issue I had was that the kitchen was locked some nights at 9pm. A bit of a problem if you had washing in the washing-machine and hadn't done your washing-up!
A great campsite if you like peace and quiet but if you prefer a little more atmosphere then perhaps not for you.

Stayed on this site for just less than a week, found it quiet with adequate facilities.
The position is great, up a long lane opposite Fire Engine pub, there is plenty of choice in Marizion and it's a lovely walk into Penzance along the coast.
The sit boasts a swimmimg pool which was why I'd booked it but really too small to swim, but I found it relaxing never the less.
I would camp there again.

If you want quiet and no connection with human beings this is the site to book. If you want to listen to crows squawking all day and night this is the site to book. Swimming pool was good except for locals (mums with very obnoxious kiddies) or couples that want to literally have the pool to themselves then book it. Toilets immaculate. Pitch was damp and dark we had enough by two days and went onto another camp with a sunshine pitch and natives were friendly. I forgot to mention the country lane is longer than you think watch out for those lorries.

Just returned from 10 days touring Cornwall, stayed at Wheal Rodney for the Sunday night - absolutely fabulous! I understand that the owners have now taken on the Godolphin Hotel in Marazion which we went to for their Quiz good fun & not too erudte.Ate at the Kings Arms - very basic pub grub with a wonderfully politically incorrect landlord as the cabaret. Bit of a hike up the hill again but discovered that if you go up School Lane it cuts off the steepest bit.
The site itself was heaven, wonderfully clean, lots of hot water (including the free swimming pool) free microwave & laundry facilities, I wonder if they would consider putting in just a spin dryer for those little bits of hand washing - that would make it perfect.
Loved the idea of leave a book you've finished with & take a new one.

We have just spent 7 nights here and were very pleased. On first impressions the site looked a little 'built up'with a mixture of residential mobile homes and chalets in a grey render. The views are lovely though, approx one mile from the centre of Marazion, a good base for fish and chips, pubs and of course a very safe bathing beach.
The site does not have a playground but has a very warm indoor pool which is free. This can get busy at times even though we were out of season. The toilet and shower block were very clean although cold with no heating, there is a small shop for essentials but there are 2 big supermarkets 2 miles away.
We visited St Michaels mount, Flambards both worth visiting and Lands End which we felt was missing something. The only thing this site lacks is somewhere for children to run around, kick a ball, play cricket etc, but out of season, with the pool you can't fault it.

We have just come back from a holiday here and it was a wonderful find, as other have said it is small but great. The pitches are generous and once we had got rid of some over-nosey neighbours, we felt very relaxed! The no noise after 10pm rule is observed and checked by the owners, so much so she gave us her home phone number on the second day saying there had been noise on the site before, which we hadnt even noticed after our six hour drive-we were fast asleep! However, the lady owner made a point of saying we could call whether it was 2am or whatever which I thought was good of her. The two resident collies wander around the site, so if you have a nervous doggy like we do, be aware-they followed ours around once and he wasn't very happy but no trouble ensued!
The Fire Engine pub has maybe the best beer garden view I have seen and very friendly staff. The whole of Marazion seemed doggy friendly if thats what you need, but you can't take them on the main beach or over to the Mount which we were a bit dissapointed by, of course the beach rule changes at the end of high season.
If you don't want to cook, the pubs in Marazion do good food and take aways deliver from nearby Penzance just down the road. Also you must try the ice creams from the hut near the beach-lovely.
All in all I would recommend this site to anybody and we will be back I'm sure.
