May 2005 We have just come back from our very first time caravanning in our used Adria and chose this park because of the reviews. I would like to add that it was so peaceful and ideal for a family with young children. There is no clubhouse or convenience store on site which to us meant no loitering teenagers on bikes around the store or loud music from arcades. The local supermarket is a quick trip in the car or a lovely 15 minute walk if you wish so no problems getting your bread! The views across to Carlton Park Hall with corn fields were beautiful and the real treat was walking across the recreational ground to a clever dried up large pond which has been changed into a massive safe haven for the children to play, complete with grassy slopes and large slide! It was so central to all parts of Suffolk. The chap was friendly, informative and courteous. Toilets and washroom were fine. Field was spacious and no pressure having to leave. A great place to start Caravanning!

May 2005 Stayed at this site over the Bank Holiday weekend. We had an excellent weekend and would agree with the previous reviews. The site manager was friendly and helpful. (Even though the park was full and he was rushed off his feet). The grass was well looked after and the toilet and shower block were excellent. The washing up area has just been refurbished.
Although there are no shops or bar etc on site, Saxmundham is only a short distance away and the manager happily pointed out the directions to a pub a short walk across the playing fields. Good value for money, and they weren't even worried what time we left the site on departure day.

August 2004 We stayed over the August bank holiday. We had a wonderful time. There is plenty of room to pitch up on well cut grass (no mud). The showers and toilets were clean. There is a family shower room with plenty of room for our large family. In which both parents were able to help shower the children. There is a large playing field with 3 sets of football goals, tennis courts and in a dip there is a well hidden adventure playground which our children could have played on all day. They loved the large slide and the tyre swing. Behind the playing field there is a wood and some lovely footpaths. lovely area to explore. We shall definitly be returning in the future. Great for families.

July 2004 Very quiet, good quality grass, basic but very clean toilet facilities. We were the only campers (2 adults) and there was just a handful of caravanners. When we visited last year this was almost always the case too. No bar, clubhouse or shop so maybe that puts some people off. If you like peace and quiet and great scenery and walks and a lovely village, Saxmundham 10 minutes walk away it's ideal. We use the site as a base and drive for days out at Aldeburgh which is just 5 miles away. Think they could do with marketing the site more as it needs more campers. Things seem a bit too quiet when its pitch dark and you're the only tent in a massive field! However, the warden is friendly and you can pitch where you want with no pressure to vacate by a certain time next day. Cost was £8 for a two person tent.
I recommend this basic but very clean site but wish more campers would use it.

May 2004 Spring bank holiday Loads of space, loo's could be better, but we have a caravan so it is not a problem, for anyone with young children it is ideal - lots of space, we are in our 60's and there were lots of children around us but they were no bother at all. It was one of the friendliest camp we have been to.

August 2002 We spent August Bank holiday at this site. Prior to going we were a little concerned as we weren't exactly sure what we were going to get for a our £6.50 per night... Fortuntately we were pleasently surprised. The grass was of a better quality than that in my back garden! It's quite slopy though so for tents you need to pick your spot wisely. We found out though that the large field we camped is only open for bank holidays leaving a smaller field for the rest of the year for tents. In the smaller field, one side opens on to the playing field but the other has a row of houses backing on to it.
The site is non profit making and is attached to Carlton playing fields with football & cricket pitches. In the centre there is a sunken play area and our children loved it as there were a large number of swings slides etc.
The toilets and showers were ok and free although there were only four showers (2 in the Mens and 2 in the Ladies) and of course with it being bank holiday it got a little congested in the morning and evening rush hours.
We would visit this site again with our 4 small children but only on a bank holiday weekend as we preferred the larger field.
It's a great site for dog owners as there's lots of opens spaces and fileds backing onto the playing fields for long strolls. The site was very quiet even though it was a bank holiday and the people there (including the warden) were very friendly. Also the pitches are unmarked and there was no pressure to vacate early in the day.
