During the miserable weather in January, we decided to book our holiday destinations for 2009, and after reading the reviews on UKCS, we decided that one of our breaks this year would be in South Wales, and at this site in particular.
I contacted the site, and chatted to the owner Simon like an old friend. I explained that our tent perhaps was a little bigger than he usually allows - so to help us decide if our unit would be comfortable on the proposed pitch, he went to the trouble of going to the pitch, measuring it, photographing it, and sent me the photo and details. Fantastic service in my opinion.
On arrival in July, Simon greeted us, and showed us to our pitch, and provided coverings to place on top of the all-weather pitch, to help protect the groundsheet of our tent. He then helped me move the pitches picnic table to where we wanted it, and then helped me move my trailer onto the pitch ready for unloading.
Once we were up and running, our EHU unit failed. Again, Simon came to the rescue by loaning me a suitable cable to get us through the week.
There are four tent pitches on site, three of which feel incredibly private with the planted shrubbery keeping them slightly apart from the rest of the site.
All of the pitches here are 'all weather' and as the area had suffered a fair amount of rain in the previous weeks and days before our arrival, the site as a whole was pretty well drained, and the all-weather pitches really did their job.
The site's location is superb - set in a valley, with huge trees surrounding it - and as such, well protected from the elements.
A ten-fifteen minute leisurely walk down a disused railway track (now a formal footpath) will see you at the beach of 'Wiseman's Bridge' - where there is a small shop, and a pub with views to die for. Another ten minutes or so from there, and you will be in the small seaside town of Saundersfoot.
I would highly recommend taking cycles here, as it is very safe and easy to get around.
On the site itself, the toilet blocks are kept very clean, and there is a single shower room in both Mens and Womens. It is like a utility room with a shower cubicle in the corner - which means there is plenty of room to shower and change without any danger of soaking your clothes!
Showers are gloriously hot, and timed at ten minutes for 50p
Children's play area is in the middle of the site, and children are able to play care-free without any fear or danger - again, because of the size of the site, you can keep an eye on the play area directly from your pitch in 90% of cases.
There is no shop on site, but Sainsburys in Tenby is 6 miles (15 mins drive) away, Asda and Tesco in Pembroke Dock are 13 miles (20 mins or so drive) away.
There is no entertainment or club-house on site, which suited our needs just fine - and the whole site falls silent by around 9-10pm
I could not recommend this site highly enough, and will most certainly be returning in the future.

Well what can I say a little gem of a site, The location and site are superb with plenty to see and do in the area.
When we arrived Simon the owner was very helpful and offered to put our van on our pitch for us as the grass was wet (he has a landrover against our front wheel drive).
The site was lovely with the old mill at the entrance, it's quite small about 4 tents, 8 tourers and about 12 or so statics a small toilet block an office with plenty of local info and a laundry. My little one loved the play area, also the site provide a tv hook up which is needed in the area it works well and gives a good quality freeview reception.
The old iron works over the road over a nice walk on the door step otherwise it's not far down to the beach. Saundersfoot is only 5min drive and is a lovely little seaside town.
I would give this site top marks, while other people have mentioned the toilet block yes you can notice it's getting on a bit but it is clean and tidy and the shower gives 10mins of hot water.

We came for the weekend with 2 preschool children and our small dog. We received a warm welcome at this very pretty, well kept site. The shower / toilets block was spotless. The all weather pitch meant our tent was put away clean and dry. The kids loved the play area, especially the boat!
We will definitely be visiting this site again!

What a lovely site and can only reinforce all other comments made about this site. We were warmly greeted by Simon upon arrival and shown to our pitches where he had an underlay already for us to go on the all weather pitches.
The site itself is very well laid out with all pitches surrounding the play area, also lined with trees, flowerbeds and a small stream so you have the feeling of space regardless of whether or not you are in a tent or caravan.
Facility wise, there is a small office which holds plenty of leaflets of the area, books and games for both adults and children, a free ice-pack freezer, washing machine / dryer and washing up sink. For shopping there is a large co-op about 5 minutes up the road which has everything you could possibly want along with a good chip shop!.
The site is within easy walking distance of the beach and a great cycle route to Saundersfoot which is ideal for the children as flat and easy going.
All in all a great site and will definitely be returning it made our first family holiday in our new tent a great experience.

I can only echo all of the positive comments about this site, great for walking, cycling, beaches and relaxing.
Set amongst a tree lined valley, there are 8 touring pitches, 4 tent pitches (all hardstanding) and about the same number of statics, all spaced around a large grass area in the centre, so you have the feeling of space, no matter where you pitch.
The local roads are generally excellent and it doesn't take too long to cover what appears to be a large distance on a map. There are many places locally worth a visit and there did not appear to be the rush on the roads that is all too familiar. St Davids, with its unique sloping cathedral, set below the village/city, is only really a short drive away, but it took a few days of exploring locally on foot, before a trip further afield in the car became attractive.
A peaceful, sheltered site that has it all on its doorstep. I would love to return.

Our visit got off to a great start with a very friendly and genuine welcome on arrival from Simon, who was always around and helpful if needed.
The main field at Mill House has a single perimeter ring of tourers and statics around a good sized central grassed area with some play equipment. The tent area is off to one side and bounded by trees, as is the whole site.
[One of the reasons I went to Mill House was to try out their all weather tent pitches. They are great! The site provide at no extra cost a special sort of underlay to go under the tent, which Simon had waiting for us on arrival. No problem at all pegging down using our normal Cabanon pegs. The stones are a type of pea gravel which is quite small and rounded, like tiny smooth pebbles, so I didn't worry about them under the tent at all. Yes, you could tell that it wasn't grass underneath if you thought about it if but it was absolutely fine - and an awful lot better than feeling swamp underneath! I would very happily camp on a Mill House-type awp for a fortnight or longer. No problem going barefoot in the tent at all. And no muddy groundsheet to deal with when packing up. Result!]
The site has a small office/reception/information room with a free ice pack freezing service. There is a good utility room with laundry, ironing and washing up facilities. Plenty of hot water! The toilet block is ageing but freshly decorated, clean and decent. The shower is in a small room with chair and hand basin, rather than just in a cubicle. 50p per shower but it last ten minutes.
Fifteen/twenty minutes pretty walk through trees along a made-up smooth path down to Wisemans' Bridge beach, shop and pub. The path would be great for pushchairs or cycling.
Mill House is also very handy for other beaches in the area or Saundersfoot, Tenby etc.
There is some road noise at Mill House but otherwise I would say this is a pleasant, small family site mainly oriented towards vans but with very good provision for tents. The site is well run by its hard-working, thoughtful owners.

This is our second visit to this site we stayed last year for a week and although it may be small the site is very clean and tidy, simon and Amanda made us feel very welcome!.
Its very peaceful here, the site is surrounded with trees yet just a fifteen minute walk through the woods is the beach (Wiseman bridge).
Saundersfoot is five minutes in the car but on foot is better, through the woods to the beach go through the old miners tunnels then back down to the beach at Saundersfoot. Tenby harbour, oakwood park, blue lagoon, crystal maze and Barafundle beach are just a few of many places
To visit all within a 20 minute drive!
If you like the peace and quite this site is well worth a visit!

What a lovely site. We had a call from Simon, the site owner, the day before we were due to arrive after severe flooding in South Wales warning us it was wet! We arrived at noon on the Saturday to a wet site but our hardstanding stood up well to the job. The warmest welcome we'd ever had at a site awaited us! Now, that's the way to run a campsite! Small but adequate toilet block, with 3 toilets, 2 sinks and a separate shower room in each. Showers 50p and last 10 minutes. Indoor washing up area (1 sink) and laundry and small information room. The site is opposite the old Ironworks, which is quite interesting. The Miners Walk (flat) takes you down to Wisemans Bridge Beach and Inn and takes about 15 mins to walk. Pub was friendly, allows dogs in the bar area and does really good food (although a bit pricey we thought?!). You can also walk to lovely Saundersfoot from the site (again along the Miners Walk). It takes you through 3 disused tunnels (1 of which is really dark!) and is an easy 1.5 miles. Saundersfoot has plenty to nose around and lots of cafes / tearooms / pubs with outside eating areas to watch the world go by! In the other direction is Amroth (not much there!) - a harder/steeper walk along the coastal path from Wisemans Bridge. A great site for motorhomers who like to pitch up and walk! Thank you Simon for our wonderful welcome. We will definitely return one day.

Just returned from a weeks stay there, would echo all the other positive comments about this site, it is quiet, and in a gorgeous setting.
All the statics and most of the touring pitches look out on to a grassed area that is perfect for the kids to play safely on and make friends.
Perfect location for exploring the area. Superb walk/cycle to wisemans bridge and saundersfoot along disused railway track and very safe for kids to cycle with only one road to cross.
Have two v good meals in the wisemans bridge inn.
Simon and Amanda were very helpful and could not do enough to make there guests feel welcome.
Will definitely return.

Very neat and tidy site that is a mixuture of statics and tourers. We recieved a warm welcome from Simon the owner who was installing new TV hook ups on our pitch and those adjacent due to poor TV reception in the valley. Even with a short wheeled based van, getting onto the pitch without going onto the grass prooved impossible, luckily I did not damage the grass. The showers are metered at 50p for what seems an eternity, giving ample time to shower. The shower / toilet block are spotlessly clean. The is a small play area for the kiddies which I'm sure will keep them occupied for hours. An ideal base for touring South Pembrokeshire. Sadly we had to cut our visit short, but will definitely return to see more of this beautifull part of South Wales.
