We went to yeatheridge as a treat for our sons birthday. We was recommended by a friend and disappointed we were not!
We were greeted by the cheery owner Geoff, and directed to our pitch. The pitch was a very good size and the showers etc was very clean and tidy.
The onsite regulars were all very friendly and helpful.
Our son is a keen fisherman and he is only 12, he took a friend and they both thoroughly loved the place especially the fishing. Although not old enough to fish the lower lakes, the top lake was close to the park. The park is well run and the owners was very helpful, always there to have a laugh and joke. Even though this was our first visit, it will definitely not be our last.
The camp is set in wonderful countryside with nice walks around the area. The horse riding kept our young daughter happy as well.
With good kids play area, plenty of grassed areas for the kids to let off steam.
The pools were of good size, clean, never seemed packed at any one stage, the flume was wicked and is open at certain times of the day and is well staffed to cope with everyone wishing to use the flume.
Sunday lunch is recommended in the Bull-Pen pub, takeaways was good portions and value for money. Shop was very well stocked and reasonably priced, with helpful staff. We was even allowed to stay on our pitch all day on the day of departure. Good to see a big effort on recycling with its own area designated for seperate bins. Park well maintained and definitely reccomended. We cannot wait for our next visit!

I am 70 years old this year, so I needed to find a campsite in which I could relax in ym old age, but also where my children, grand children and also great grandchild could have a fantastic holiday. Thankfully, we found yeatheridge.
Yeatheridge is a god send. We arrived early in the morning, and as the sun rose over the hill and we saw Yeatheridge in the light for the first time, I just knew we had found what we had been looking for for a long time. We were shown to our pitches, alongside each other and situated near a toilet block and also near the shop as I am not as young as I used to be. With our 'special' requirements the owners were more than happy to comply to our needs! After the caravans and tents had been erected, we went to check out the shop and see if it stocked anything that we could have for breakfast. To our delight, the on site pub catered for breakfast so we sat and enjoyed a delicious feast of local produce. The food was all well cooked and a very good quality, even my fussy great grandaughter enjoyed her scrambled eggs on toast! During the holiday we had decided to venture out to eat at local pubs but the food was so delicious we ate on site most nights, either in the restaurant, in the bar, or had a takeaway.
The onsite shop is also very well stocked with reasonable prices. I also found the staff very helpful, even opening up for us if we were in need of something after closing time!
My family all took advantage of the facilities on site - the swimming pools were a big hit! They went if not once then twice everyday! In fact I got a bit sick of 'nanna you should come down the flume its well good!' They also liked goign horse riding and as the rides went around the caravan park, I could wave to them from my sun lounger! my daughter, who is an able rider, went out on a longer ride, and although there was no cantering allowed she still had a lot of fun! The men liked the fishing best, the peace and traquility of the bottom lake is lush, and as it was acsessable by car I could share in this enjoyment.
As for me, this site was also amazing. The surroundings made it very peaceful and relaxing even in the middle of all the caravans. Everbody respects everyone elses privacy, and the pitches where we were were so large we didnt feel overlooked at all. I thouroughly enjoyed myself watching the children in the field playing and having the time of their lives.
The toilet facilies were excellent. The showers were very wide so it was easy to manouver myself as I am not as mobile as I once was! I did not venture into the bottom toilet block, althouogh I was told it was nothing compared to the top one and could of done with refurbishment.
The surrounding area has absolutley nothing there. Although this did not bother me, my family did not really like that it took at ;east an hour to gat to all the attractions and the nearest beach (woolacombe). The roads leading up to it are also not for the faint hearted, my grandson Ben was sick on the way.
This site is a very family orientated site. It is set on a hill though and that can make it hard to get around, though if you ask for an eaily accessable pitch, i'm sure the owners would comply. All the family would like to return here next year! a hit with all ages!

I have been going to Yeatheridge all of my life and I have never been let down by the campsite. It is very family orientated and there are lots of interesting activities available throughout the year. We found the swimming pool very clean and it was great because we could go in together as friends and then later on, take our younger children in during the quiet hour. The flume was a special hit - the children and adults both loved it and where reluctant to leave! The horse riding was a great hit with all the family. It was good how on the park rides, the children were led round by delightful young ladies who were very bubbly and chatty and reasured the children who were a little afraid of climbing aboard. I also felt that the option of being led around on a farm ride was good, as it enabled our older children to have a little more experience on a horse, and they got to see the farmland from a different perspective.
The pub is very spacious and there is a wide variety of food available. You could either take away, have a bar meal or go and sit in the fancy restaurant. On a Sunday, they did Sunday dinner, and the owners were helpful and fitted everyone who wanted into a sitting somewhere. All food was fresh and delicious and the whole family loved it.
The site containd two fishing lakes. These were both stocked with various fish, and on the top lake, the children could have a go which they thouroughly enjoyed. The bottom lake was more peaceful and quiet, and although it was not as full of fish as the top lake, the fish were bigger so it was more rewarding to spend time down there.
As the site was farmland in a working farm, there were acres and acres of fields and farmland that were all free to explore. They had basic walks that were set out which were rather helpful as it is very easy to get lost. The walks were relaxing as it was very peaceful and you could shut off your mind from the rest of the world and forget all of your troubles.
The toilet facilities were excellent and there was always hot water. I enjoyed the fact that the changing rooms were right next to the swimming pool and they too had hot showers. The bottom toilet block is getting on a bit but rumour has it that these are getting refurbished soon.
The shop was vastly stocked with fresh foods and all the necesities that you would need. There is fresh bread every morning and fresh cakes and flapjacks, scones, shortbread and many more. Everything is very reasonably priced and the shop assistants are friendly and helpful.
The club, named so amusingly 'The Bull Pen' has 2 pool tables, table football, a ping pong table and TVs which have Sky TV and during key events like cricket, football and the Big Brother final are shown on these. The park also conatins playgrounds for children and a football field with goalposts. This field is always occupied by people from all corners of Great Britain meeting up and getting to know one another a hearty game of football. Great friends are made by adults and children alike.
The pitches we stayed on were level and silver sanded which helped suck up the rain as it was rather rainy. It was great that the kids could just walk out of the caravan on their own and go and play on the vast field without us having to worry about their safety.
I hope you have as much enjoyment out of Yeatheridge as I have these many years, but beware - its like a drug - when you've been you have no option than to return!
Can't wait for the season to begin for another great year!

Had a lovely sunny week at Yeatheridge. It had been raining heavily the week before we arrived but the owner had put sand down which had helped to dry it out. The site is in a very quiet area so most people tend to spend the time on site. The shop was well stocked and reasonably priced, although more fresh food and bread would have been good. The pitches were variable. There are large fields which are flat and spacious and if you are lucky enough to get one of those they are ideal. However the one we stayed on was on a slope, there was little space between units and no space for the children to play close to the van. The fishing lake at the top of the site was great and we spent many hours there. The lake at the bottom was for adults only and didn't seem as popular. There are pony rides available around the farm at £2 each for 10 mins and then there are longer rides for more experienced riders. I would have like to seee something in-between where the children could maybe learn some of the basics. The swimming pools were warm but the flume is only on for a very short itme each day which was a little dissapointing. The club was large and had a good games area which the children enjoyed. No organised entertainment at the club but reasonably priced beer and food. This is a good site if you just want to wind down and not go too far once you have parked up. I would go again if we could chose a pitch on one of the fields. However make sure that you abide by the site rules as the owner can be very verbal if you do not.

Very friendly owners - nothing too much trouble. Very quiet site in fantastic countryside. Amenities very clean with plenty of hot water. The site was very clean and tidy - well kept pitches. Kids loved the two swimming pools on site, especially the water slide. Food and beer at on-site restaurant well priced! The shop is excellently stocked. Numerous kids playgrounds around the site and a number of nearby woodland walks (1, 11/2 and 2 mile walks). Fishing lakes, horse riding etc. We really enjoyed it - and have booked again for next year!

This is our favourite out in the middle of nowhere farm campsite with space to play, riding and a pool, the one we measure all others by. I'm not going to rave about this relaxing haven too much because I want it kept a secret amongst those families who've been going for years!

We also would not return to this site although if going in a caravan it would be ok. When we booked very early in the year we asked to be as near to the loos as possilble, but we right down the bottom of the site. The main shower & loo blocks were the worst I've ever seen, they were old & dirty & most of the loo seats were broken. The new ones at the top were good but only 2 showers & 3 loos in each. We booked a pitch with hookup for trailer tent pup tent, two cars & there was hardly enough room, the pitches that were around the play ares looked bigger, but the one we had was right next to the very dusty road! The club house prices were very good, but the food was hit & miss , some nights it was great, but others it was so bad we had to send it back. The shop was the best we have ever seen, it stocked most things you would need, but check the dates as a lot of things were out of date. No bins around the site only the main skip, poor lighting

We spent a wet week here at Yeatheridge Farm. Nice roomy pitch, although slightly sloping which may be a problem for some. The owners were extremely obliging. The shop is excellent and very keenly priced. Lots to do for the children (we had 7yrs to early teens and all happy) and the site felt extremely safe. The upper toilet/shower facilities were second to none and the laundry facilities 1st class, even for washing a sleeping bag in an emergency! Our only fault would be the lower toilet block could do with an update, but NEVER had to wait for a shower in the morning and plenty of hot water, even though peak season and site full (not that you would know it). Kids and adults alike loved the horse riding round the farm, although restricted to trotting due to insurance purposes. Didn't have time for the fishing although it looked good. Although a drive to the coast it didn't put us off exploring and a Morrisons superstore about 15 minutes away. Best site we have been to and would like to return sometime. Would definitely recommend.

Weve just come back from this camp site after spending 5 days there. Unfortunately we will not be returning. We have a disabled daughter and didnt realise from the information we received when booking this site that although the pitches are level, the camp site is not, the roads connecting the camping areas and the top of the camp site, where the shop, swimming and reception areas are, is totally bumpy with stones all the way along. It is not suitable for wheel chair users what so ever. Also the swimming pool was very very cold and we had to leave pool earlier that we would have done due to this. Also we didnt like the fact that they felt that a red emergency button was substitute enough for a life guard. The other problem we encountered was the fact that we couldnt make the horse riding one morning due to heavy rain, and obviously wasnt going to put the children especially the disabled child, on a horse in the pouring rain, however we was told by the couple that ran the site that they never cancel horse riding sessions, only cancelling in lightening weather. It was with some reluctance that they changed our horse riding till 4.30 that afternoon. The only thing we would say was good about the site was that the toilets and showers near the reception were nice, and also the shower in the swimming pool changing room was good.

Stayed here for 16 nights (Peak Season). So here is an honest appraisal. Owners very friendly and helpful. The site was full but wasn't over crowded. Most pitches are sloping and required chocks. Upper toilet facilities score 10/10 but only 5/10 for lower facilities (upgrade required). Kids loved the free water chutes and playing with inflatables in the pool. Unfortunately the indoor pool was only warm for the first few days of our stay then freezing cold for the rest of the stay. The bar was reasonably priced for drinks £2 for a pint of John Smiths but the restaurant food was not up to expectation on Quality. Horse riding for Beginners and Intermediates 10/10 £8 for 3/4hr ride is excellent value. Quite noisy with children and teenagers at 11pm and midnight all seemed to be harmless fun with people enjoying themselves and is only to be expected on a site with a bar etc. So if you prefer to be in bed by 7.30pm its not the site for you in peak season. The shop receives 11/10 for stock and prices. You name it they have it fresh bread, cable ties, nappies etc etc. and if the shop is closed the owners are more than willing to serve the essentials out of hours. The site is really out in the wilds in fact you go through No-mans-land and beyond. This site is not the usual rip off that can be found in the West Country but EXCELLENT value for money. Would we visit again YES !
