Visited this campsite after reading good reviews. Staff where good at replying to emails and answering my many questions before arrival.
The campsite was average - not really as shown on the website. The miniature train track was nice but what wasn't so nice was the real train track that almost runs above the campsite which can be heard from any where on site although the trains did seem to stop after 11pm and it didn't mention this on the website!
We got a spot at the back of the site behind the tourers and the pitch sizes where decent we fit our tent, car and they was still plenty of room. I wouldn't have liked to be on the basic grass tent pitches at the entrance of the camp site as they are right on the main road.
Pool isn't worth £1pp its very small and there isn't much room to swim. The entertainment room and bar where pleasant although we had our dog with us so didn't spend any decent length of time inside but the children seemed to enjoy the disco.
The worst thing about this camp site was the state of the toilet block. The first thing I noticed was the graffiti on the back of the toilet doors. It was really off putting and was in every toilet I used and wouldn't of took much to put right. The showers weren't very nice either and your clothes got soaked no matter where you stored them on the up side the water was always hot.
The washing up area was a decent size and they was a small freezer to use aswell.
Even though they operated a no noise after 11pm policy noisy campers where playing music and drinking until the early hours not good for campers with children!
The camp site is in a really good location 10 minute drive to filey 15/20 minute drive to Scarborough, not much to do in hunmunby.
The camp site had a good dog exercise area and lots of points for bins and drinking water and the children's play area looked like fun.

Lovely site, we were on a small field near reception. Only down side is that there is a railway crossing just behind the field so you get the occasional noise of passing trains. This however wasn't a problem for us. Shower blocks were clean, you have to leave a £2 deposit to access the shower blocks. Lovely beaches nearby. Staff were friendly. We would visit again!

We spent the May Day weekend at this site which is very well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are two camping fields one which is quite close to reception and the main road to Hunmanby and east coast railway line. The field is slightly sloping. The second is beyond the static caravans at the top of the site. This area has marked out pitches and electric hook ups though you are not obliged to use them. If you are prepared to telephone ahead then these are the pitches I would recommend you ask for. These pitches are protected from the play area and any noise from the bar by natural banking. They are flat and well drained.
This site has a children's play area, an open area for ball games, a small lake for fishing and a miniature train which ran on the Sunday we were there. There is a shop offering basic provisions and some basic camping equipment, gifts and useful items like playing cards (which we forgot to pack. There is a site bar and entertainment was available on the Saturday and Sunday. There is also a swimming pool on site. The pool does not have a lifeguard on duty so all children must accompanied by an adult. There is also an extra charge for this.
The showers and toilets were clean. They were accessed by a key for which a £2 deposit is required on arrival. An area for potwashing with four sinks is available.
Hunmanby is a pretty little village with a variety of shops including a baker, butcher, co-op and hardware store there are a couple of pubs and a cafe. We can recommend Jilly's cafe very nice lady and cooks a super breakfast. Filey is only a 10 minute drive away and both Bridlington and Scarborough are within easy reach.
We had a good weekend here despite the cold easterly breeze and would return again

The toilets were really close to all tents
There were nice places to eat and drink in the village, we had a nice Carvery in the Railway Tavern
It was really cheap to stay here, and we had all the facilities
It was so good we went back at the weekend

We had 2 nights at this site, 1 day/night horrendous rain, the other beautiful sunshine & warm, the pitch was level, but when the rain came it became soggy very quick, I dont know if this is because the ground had reached saturation point or what! we were told they had a lot of rain. When the sun came out it dried up fairly quickly. It's not really a long walk to the toilet/ shower block, which were always clean considering the amount of mud that was about, you could always get a shower, no queueing while we there! the piped radio into the block is a good idea. The miniature railway wasn't working while we there, which was a shame. The club house is just the right size for the site, the karaoke was a good laugh! as is the amusement arcade, the kids enjoyed splashing around in the pool, and the shop/reception stocked everything you would need at reasonable prices. The kid's playground kept them happy when the sun came out,The village of Hunmanby has a good selection of pubs, all serving meals, shops and takeways. All the takeaways deliver to the camp site! overall the campsite was well run, well kept, clean & tidy and good value for money, it's in a good location for Brid & Filey, excellent place to stay & we will return. Highly recommended.

My family and I have just returned from this site and we were very disappointed with the pitch we got. It was tiny and I only have a small caravan! It was packed like a sardine between next door neighbours cars and caravans, the bins and waste/water points!
There was no electric point near either. So bring a 10m long extension lead just in case and prepare to run it past 2 neighbours cars and caravans.
The toilet blocks were clean. Hot water charged at 20p in a meter at washing up points for campers.
The Elsan point was dirty and stank (even on a rainy day!)
There was litter on the model railway/playing field and my pitch was littered with hundreds of previous residents' cigarette butts which was unsightly. Attention to detail matters I think and so did some of the other people I chatted to.
The site did look pleasant upon approach, however, once I had paid upfront and was directed via a map to the pitch it was a different story. A very narrow BUT two-way road with a dead end!
There was virtually no room to do the essential 3 point turn round with a caravan.Note that there is no route around the whole site. It is badly designed and made impossible to move when other cars are waiting right behind you to get to their own caravans. This is an impractical layout a redesign is needed.
There was a HUGE '5 mph slow children playing' sign directly blocking my pitch! Difficult to negotiate had it not been for 2 kind people that helped me unhitch and manoeuvre into it. A big Thank you to them!
This site is ok if you like a commercial site with no privacy or view.
However, on the 'up-side' the Staff were fairly helpful and the children have lots to do. Also,
Hunmanby Gap is a lovely clean sandy beach and my children enjoyed it very much. There is also a catering caravan which sells reasonably priced food and has benches outside with a full view of the sea and beach.

Just had a week at this site it was the best family run site we have been on so far camping.
The pitches are all flat and fit our 22ft tent on easy. We did not have electric so nice big field and close to the club and shower blocks. Only a small club and swimming pool but big enough for the size of site. Kids loved the mini railway and just a pound a go. Showers always clean and warm. Staff were very helpful and friendly we will be going back to this site again soon and every year if it stays at this standard. Excellent site well recommended.

Overall excellent weekend stay.
Good bits; friendly staff, good green areas for children to play, very clean toilets/showers, plenty of hot water. The boys loved the little train and the ducks walking around the site. Well located to Filey and excellent beaches.
Had bit of rain and the site appeared to drain well. Grass well cut and maintained.
Bad bits; very small pitches which would have caused problems if site was busy. Toilet/shower block to far from tents. Swimming pool too cold for our 3 & 4 year old boys and appear cloudy water, no real changing area.
Had meal at THE PLOUGH, near Esso Garage on A165 towards Scarborough. Was recommended to us, excellent kids play area (2-8yr old) upstairs but food was terrible.
We will definetly go back again in quieter times, as large tent and small pitches could be too cosy in busy periods.

We went for the Easter weekend and had a long weekend at Orchard Farm. Apart from the wet and windy drive over, the site was very welcoming.
We were given a pitch but were told that if the pitch allocated was too wet to find one that wasnt as bad. The young lad with the tractor put our caravan on the pitch for free (we bought him a pint in the club afterwards) which helped us out a lot and saved the car from getting stuck in the grass.
The showers were cleaned daily and there was plenty of hot water which helped wash off the mud, a friendly bar and entertainment all weekend which the kids loved. The reception and shop was well stocked and the lady in the apple juice bar was lovely as well a great idea having a seperate sweet shop keeping the kids out of the bar.
All in all apart from the weather this is a great site and we will be going back in the summer when hopefully the weather will be better

Not a bad site. Facilities good, found them clean at all times, although it was very quiet.
Good walks in the area.
Bad bit being miserable staff! Made you feel as if you were an inconvenience. One of the little girls in our party was snapped at for touching something in the shop, which was a blow for the owners because 5 kids were about to spend ? each.
Wont be going back, would certainly not encourage people with children, which is a shame because it could be a nice site if they only smiled.
