Have stayed here for 4 years now, very pleased with the site. Excellent facilities, and plenty of space. Very reasonable and offer a wide variety of goods in the on-site shop. Has definitely improved over the years. Would recommend to many others, both the site and the IOW. :)

We have visited the Isle of Wight on many occasions but have always stayed in chalets or holiday cottages. So as "first-time" campers we didn't know what to expect, and after seeing a couple of other campsites close to Carpenters Farm we were slightly worried but our worries were totally unfounded. What a wonderful campsite! The toilets, showers and washing up areas were all kept spotlessly clean. We had plenty of room around our tent and we could pitch where we liked. All in all a wonderful experience - one we shall definitely be repeating and most definitely at Carpenters Farm. Even the rain showers and breezy conditions didn't put us off. We will be back!

A clean open site with plenty of space for hook-ups and non hook-ups alike. A good, safe, central area for the kids to play. Toilets, showers and washing-up facilities clean, although queues did build up when the site got busier. Very friendly husband and wife team. The views are great and we witnessed a fantastic electrical storm on the hill opposite. The beach at St Helens is sand, shingle and stones and has a car park with toilet facilities and a really nice cafe (selling healthy option food). There is a coastal walk to Ryde, but you need to make sure the tide is out. Would definitely recommend.

Just got back from glorious week of sunshine. If your idea of camping is one big field, loads of space , very clean toilets and showers as well as an excellent laundry room with mirrors plugs, at great prices then this site is for you. Pitches are great size and mainly flat. Near to lovely beaches and towns and massive Tesco for all your needs just five mins in the car. All in all a fab site would definitely return. Kids loved it and the Isle of Wight is beautiful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carpenters Farm. When we arrived the ground was really waterlogged after about a week of wet weather, but the owner directed us to the driest area & as the weather improved the ground drained nicely!
The owners are really friendly and helpful, and the facilities are modern, well maintained and kept fabulously clean. It is a pleasant walk across farmland & through the town to a good real-ale pub. Plenty of space for the kids to run around and fly kites etc. and the play area was an excellent meeting point for the kids. Plus there are other shops and restaurants a short drive away - even a 24 hour Tesco! Well worth a visit!

September 2005 Stayed there this weekend and had a great time. Loads of space, very clean facilities, no early check-out. Easy walking distance of a decent pub and general store.
Hope to go back sometime and would recommend it to anyone.

August 2005 We've just returned from a fantastic 2 weeks at this site. (Even though we couldn't get a pitch with an electric hook-up, we still extended our stay from 10 to 14 nights. It's that good there!!) The site is in an ideal location on a gently sloping field with great views. The owners are very friendly and only too happy to help with any problems or queries. The showers, toilets and utility areas were always clean and tidy.
My little girl spent almost every spare moment in the play area, making new friends every day. She loved it! There's a large Tesco about 5 minutes with a well stocked wine and beer department. (Oh, and food and stuff!)
I couldn't recommend this site enough. We are definitely going back there. And all for only £8-50 a night for the 3 of us.

August 2005 Just arrived home, having camped for two weeks sunny at Carpenters Farm Campsite with my family, and I honestly cannot fault the place.
The site is pretty level and the facilities are excellent, but most of all, the owners ensure the showers, toilets and washing up area are always very clean.
Carpenters Farm Campsite is a quiet family site ideally located for the Island's main attractions.
The price is very attractive and the owners are most friendly.
I would definitely use it again and would recommend it to anyone.

July 2005 Wow, what a fab site. This was our second site as part of our two week stay on the island and what a great site.
We were on electric hookup so had a pitch allocated but the space around us was huge. We also managed to get pitch 31 which is one of the electric pitches on the edge of the main playing field and play ground which they do not allow people to camp on, so tons of space for the kids to cycle, play football, cricket etc.
There is a small playpark on site, slap bang in the middle of the site, which is ideal, the kids can go off and play whilst you stay at your unit and cook, read etc. The playground is basic, but once kids get chatting, they don't need much.
The showers were nice and spacious and plenty big enough for me to shower with my daughter. The toilets were also spotlessly clean.
They provide a bin bag on arrival and when you have filled it and throw it away they supply you with more, a cracking idea.
There is a a good laundry on site and a small shop, with limited opening hours, selling the basics.
If you need more, there is a large Tesco 5 minutes up the road toward Ryde.
The site is located near some great beaches including Bembridge. Also near to the site is Yarborough Monument, well worth the trip up there for the view alone.
The views from the site are superb and as the site is on a hill even with the hottest of days there was always a nice breeze coming through.
The owner was extremely friendly and made me and the children to feel very welcome.
For £11.50 a night in the height of summer I will definitely return to this site when next in the IOW, the space that we had was superb, the kids loved it and all round a real winner for me.

May 2005 Just come back from 4 day trip. Lovely campsite, all grass, loads of space to pitch - just how a 'proper' campsite should be. V clean shower & loo block plus laundry and washup area. Small central play area with swings/slide/sandpit, but children had loads of space to play all the usual (rounders, cricket, badminton, footie). Will come back for sure.
