We've just returned from a relaxing week at New England Bay. The site was recommended by friends and they were bang on with their description, we had an excellent time! The wardens were very friendly and helpful, all facilities clean and working.
There are many interesting places to visit within a short distance of the site - the Mull of Galloway (RSPB reserve), Port Logan, Port Patrick, etc. There are a number of interesting gardens in the area but most don't allow dogs (and we don't like leaving ours in the car). Castle Kennedy, just east of Stranraer being a notable exception and well worth a visit - the wonderful gardens and walks made a memorable day.
Overall a perfect site for a quiet break away from it all in this forgotten corner of Scotland.

Fantastic site. Clean, organised, welcoming with excellent site facilities. Pitches are generous - there's something for everyone - sea views, private little cul de sacs that take four vans etc. Shower blocks were immaculate and wardens were very helpful. Chippy van on site on a Tuesday and Friday - excellent food - but a bit of a q. Well worth the trip.

We have just returned from a relaxing weekend at New England Bay. The scenery is outstanding. Pitches very well laid out, secluded and generous in size. The toilets are very clean and warm. The site owners very attentive and well organised. We loved the privacy, long walks over the sand and were blessed with beautiful sunshine. Now a firm favourite with us, have already booked in for another weekend later in the season.

We went to this site as a result of the reviews posted on this website. The site was really very good, well kept, clean and staffed. The toilet blocks are A1, warm, cleaned and very modern. The staff there could not have been more helpful and even though they were having problems with IT system they helped us process our application form for the Caravan Club onsite and posted it away for us. The site is virtually on the beach dogs welcome and a lovely play area for the children. Thank you for a pleasant relaxing stay and we would recommend this site to anyone wanting rest and relaxation. We stayed here in our touring caravan and the pitches are of a very good size to take your awning no problem

We have just returned from 5 days here and it is a very nice site. Easy to get to and welcoming once you’re there. The beach is great even at high tide and during the occasional decent weather we had,it was not overcrowded despite people launching boats, building sandcastles and walking dogs, room for all.
Being adjacent to the beach (we were on a pitch about 200 yards away) can also be a disadvantage. We took quite a battering from the wind and rain due to the exposed position. However that can happen anywhere but even in August full waterproofs and wellies are essential packing, the temperature whilst we were there ranged from very wintry through to shorts & T shirt within 48hrs.
The pitches are a decent size and well regulated. Facilities are good and maintained to a good clean standard. We found the site pleasant and quiet even though busy (possibly because all the kids were inside the vans during the rain?)
The area is not densely populated and definitely not pack ‘em in touristy. Loads of free car parking at or near beaches and features. Lovely countryside and in our experience very welcoming locals.
If you’re used to popping down to Tescos at least once a day plan better here! There’s a well stocked shop at Drunmore and one at Sandhead (about 4 miles each direction) but they run on limited hours. The nearest supermarket with extended hours we town people are used to is Morrison’s in Stranraer, 14 country road miles away.
The Mariners coffee house and the Ship Inn, both easy reach in Drunmore are well worth a visit for coffee and bacon buns or an evening meal respectively.
Overall a very good visit and highly recommended.

We went to this wonderful site for two weeks in early July. What a treat! The stunning, remote location was the perfect setting for a completely relaxing holiday. The site is run by the lovely wardens, Roger and Jen, who are friendly and helpful. The facilities are up to the usual Caravan Club high standards, and the landscaping is sympathetic to the wonderful surroundings. Gorse bushes, and ferns offer secluded pitching areas, whilst most pitches have views across the stunning bay. Some of the pitches are huge, enough for caravan (ours is a big twin axle), large awning, boats, etc. Definitely take time to look around before choosing your pitch: there really is something for everyone at this site. The best thing about it is the peace and quiet - wonderful walks on the large, sandy beach. If you like fishing, you can fish directly from the beach (also Port Patrick, Port Logan, and the Mull of Galloway). There is a great boat shop 5 min drive in Ardwell, where you can buy bait, tackle, arrange for fishing trips.
However, there were also lots of families with children having a good time (games room, beach, cycling etc). There is no bar, TV lounge, restaurant etc - it really caters for those who love nature and getting away from it all. There are some lovely places nearby to visit. Try the Mull of Galloway - wonderful for a short easy walk, and wildlife - take binoculars. Parking is free. Also Drummore village (about 4 miles away) has a very friendly shop, and lovely cafes, as well as botanical gardens in the area. Port Logan is a completely unspoilt fishing village (tiny village, large, beautiful sandy beach and one pub which serves good food). Free, easy parking everywhere along the coastline. Nearest big shops are in Stranraer (Morrisons cheapest for diesel), with a museum and lots of places to eat. We recommend the Starfish fish and chips, opposite Tesco Metro near the front.
We loved it so much we didn't want to go home, and managed to stay a few days extra. Already looking forward to coming back next year. The only place I can compare it to is the beauty and tranquillity of west coast Ireland (Kerry). Took us 10 hours to drive there (from just outside London), but absolutely worth it. If you like peace and beautiful, remote, unspoilt countryside/sea, then you will love this site. It is an absolute gem.

An excellent site. Cannot wait to go back. Facilities very very clean, site well organised and very helpful wardens. The pitches were excellent - there was something for everyone - secluded ones - sea front ones - ones in small groups and ones on larger rows. The area is beautiful - the beach in front of the caravan park is excellent. Highly recommended site.

Lovely site. Very friendly wardens, very clean, large pitches both hardstanding and grass.
Beach is lovely and only a few mins walk away (great for a midnight barbi!). Toilet block was very clean. Never made it to the games room which looked like it had a pool table in it. Shop small with only basic stuff, although I did buy a wind breaker! Grass is VERY hard- you will defo need rock pegs. All in all, a very quiet, clean and friendly site with lovely view's over the Irish sea. Highly recommended.

Just returned from four days on this wonderful site. This was our first experience of a Caravan Club site and we were very impressed. My partner is disabled and we were given a pitch right next to the toilet block. He said the disabled room is the very best he has ever been in.
The site was busy but still quiet, nearly all of the guests were OAPs like ourselves! The dogs loved the beach and the surrounding area. The Mull of Galloway is an excellent day out, the webcams were set up to view the birds nesting sites. The sight of Gannets diving into the sea is spectacular.
The wardens on site were extremely helpful and everyone we met was friendly. The fish and chip van called while we were there and the fish supper was good value. Some earlier reviewers complained about the wait, but the fish was cooked whilst you waited, and anyway you are on holiday so what's the rush! Will be going again as it is only about four hours drive from home. The weather was good and the midges not too bad compared to where we live.

It's a long drive (it took us 6 hours) to get there, but worth every minute of it. Even the horrific weather we had to drive home in couldn't spoil the week we spent there.
If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to go. The site is of the usual high standard you'd expect from the Caravan Club. The facilities are spotless; though I will agree with the previous comment about the hand-dryer being directly over the sink - watch out for the resulting spray! There are a variety of pitches; something to suit everyone - even 'Victor' was happy with the choice. As for the proximity to the beach; for those who find the sea soothing to the soul, it couldn't be better.
