We camped in a tent on the meadow field which was completely empty apart from us, probably because the schools went back the week before. On arrival the family were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were very clean and to a high standard (for a campsite). There was also a burger/breakfast van which opens in the mornings if you don't want to make your own. The farm sells some things such as eggs, jam, potatoes and wood. The setting is beautiful with cows and chickens roaming in adjacent fields. There were also piglets. We brought our own wood with us to have a campfire, we cooked fish wrapped in tin foil and also roasted marshmallows on the fire. Some campsites don't allow fires so this really added to the camping atmosphere. The sky was clear and we saw shooting stars. This campsite is close to many attractions; we spent a day in cromer and a day walking to Blakeney Point from Cley to see the seals.

Stayed here over the BH with friends and had a fantastic time. Despite being a busy weekend got the site there was plenty of space, quick access to hot showers and loos and we LOVED being able to have a real campfire! Great location for visiting nearby beaches or just pootling around Holt. We also enjoyed being able to walk through the beautiful woodland nearby.

The owners were absolutely lovely and were incredibly helpful during our stay-I'd definitely recommend this campsite and look forward to returning again next year!

We stayed on the Wood Field at Breck Farm over the August bank holiday. The site was packed. Loads of people in big groups including us - there were 6 families in our group.

The shower block was busy all the time and there were queues for the showers but only at peak times. The washing up sinks were a bit of a disaster area really - swimming with water and always a queue for them morning and evening. However, the loos rarely ran out of loo paper and considering how many people there were on the site, the owners seemed to keep the block fairly clean. The burger van in the mornings was a good idea and we used it on the last morning when we'd run out of food for breakfast.

The owners seemed to be fairly relaxed about where to pitch if you were on a non-electric pitch and there was plenty of space between our group and the next. They also didn't charge us extra for gazebos. There were noise rules - the Meadow Field said no noise after 9pm and the Wood Field was 10pm. The warden did come around and tell people to keep the noise down after 10pm. People in general were fairly good with their noise levels and overnight it was a pretty quiet site given the number of campers.

I loved the fact that you can have camp fires (although only on the non-electric fields) - camping is much nicer with a real fire. I also loved being near the woods.

They could possibly do with another shower block but I don't know how busy the site is normally - perhaps it is adequate out of busy periods.

I would stay here again although we'd probably avoid busy times if it was just our family - peak holiday times are more fun in a group!

We stayed the week before the bank holiday weekend, faciities on site are good; cleaned on a regular basis, though can be a messy at times. This is no fault of the staff who clean the shower/toilet block its down to disrespectful people who can't be bothered putting toilet tissue in the bin or mopping the shower floor after they have used it. The site has sufficient space to pitch you tent to ensure you don't encroach, however not all adhere to the 3 metre space and pitch more or less outside your tent. We found this after returning from Weybourne beach, two camper vans had pitched extremely close. We camped in the meadow whereby the quiet time is from 10pm onwards. Majority of the time this is adhered to, as the Warden makes regular checks during the day and at night. However the the two campers that pitched outside out tent made noise till after 2am! Most of the time the site was quiet, though some parents omit to ensure their children stick to this, causing chaos at 6. 30am! If you need to re-freeze your ice blocks put them in the freezer at your own risk, as a number of ours went walk about. Don't get me wrong it is a lovely site and has more than enough facilities on site, along with a field for the children to play or have a game of football; woods for the children and adults to explore. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Your able to have campfires, the shop on site has bags of kindling, logs, firelighters and marshmallows for toasting! Many things to see and do Muckleburg Military Musuem, with Tank demonstrations, truck rides. Dinosaur Adventure Park, Africa Live, have a go at the maize in Priory Gardens on the way to West Runton. Weybourne beach (shingle beach) is great for a paddle or spot of fishing.

We have just returned from our mini break here. Called on the day of arrival for a small chance of pitching.

Arrived a min or so late due to being stuck on congested road and was greeted with a warm welcome.

Fab relaxed site, shower tokens were 50p shower lasted around 5 mins long with only a small queue if that (not bad due to size of the site).

The shower block was one building with reasonable cleaning areas.

Also a hot snack/breakfast van is good for a quick morning brew. Mini shop selling shower tokens, mini selection of produce and items for camp fires.

Highly recommend. Return is imminent.

Holt is 4 miles away lovely town, Cromer and Sheringham about 6 miles away, lots to see around.

Firstly we were most impressed with the pleasant and friendly greeting that awaited us in the reception shed. Business duly attended to and firewood purchased we set out to find a suitable spot to set camp.

The second thing that strikes us is how very busy the site is, how close people are situated to each other, and the complete lack of cover (what with it being a field). Eventually we managed to find a small space to squeeze into, and with some judicious juggling of our tent’s position managed to get our doorway pointed into the woods at the edge of the field.

Being able to have a live fire was a real treat, a camping first for me since I left Scouts. We do always pack a portable barbecue which we invariably use for the evening meal, but that just doesn’t compare to the lovely ambience created by a roaring crackling wood fire. And on the subject of live fires, it quickly became apparent that the rule of NOT (their emphasis) taking firewood from the woods was being widely and very obviously ignored. During the course of our stay it also became apparent that some people were not keeping their fires contained within the containers as per the rules, which I imagine jeopardises the privilege of having live fires.

The pitfalls of high density camping hit us on the very first evening, when our next door neighbours on one side decided the ‘If your neighbours can hear your radio it’s too loud’ rule did not apply to them. Ditto to loud bad language. And of course they also didn’t think the 10pm noise cut-off applied to them either.

Day three of our stay, and we arrived back from a day trip to find someone had erected three tents on the other side of us in a space I wouldn’t have dreamed of camping in. I checked, and yes, they had camped 3m away (tent to tent mind, not peg to peg), but they appeared to be pleasant enough and noise wasn’t an issue…yet. On our last full day, they also decided the ‘If your neighbours can hear your radio it’s too loud’ rule did not apply to them, although thankfully this only lasted for a few hours.

During our stay loud bad language, screaming (as in blue murder) children, raucous music, one group of inebriated lads urinating loudly (and announcing it) in the woods just next to out tent, and two youths joyriding around the site on a moped, all spoilt our stay to some degree (the missus being far more relaxed than the moany old git I have obviously become!).

The toilet and wash block was very clean indeed, and the cubicles were a generous size, however, we had no hot water for washing or washing up on our last two days, and no drinking water on the morning we left. There may well have been hot water available at times other than we went to the wash house, and drinking water may have been available from another set of taps, I don’t know.

What with all the unsocial behaviour and rule breaking (which admittedly, as ever, was by a small minority of campers) we had come to the conclusion that the advertised warden doing the rounds was the stuff of fiction. However, on our second to last night we did notice someone drive round slowly, and on out last night they actually parked and turned off their lights presumably to monitor our end of the field for a good 15 minutes or more.

It would be completely unfair to blame Breck Farm staff for the behaviour of a minority of selfish campers, especially as we didn’t report the matter, but it would be amiss of us if we didn’t mention what we experienced. The staff did inform me that it was a particularly busy period, so perhaps what we experienced was not typical at all.

I guess the bottom line is, would we go again, and we unanimously agreed without needing time to consider that the answer was YES.

Good location. Pitches generally good. Slight slope. Showers, toilets and washing facilities ample in quantity but poor in quality. Showers good hot water but limited space to keep clothes dry. Didn't see anyone clean them, lots of mops to do it yourself. No play areas. A huge site that must make lots of money, needs some investment. Curfew not enforced. Bacon sandwiches good. Shop is open long hours which is good but doesn't stock much.

I have to agree with some of the other comments made here that this site is pretty poorly kept with uncut grass and poor quality ground. While many people enjoy a campfire, there are now far too many of them which have left scorched areas on the ground and many piles of burned charcoal and ash littering the site, so trying to find a suitable tent pitch is becoming challenging. The resulting smoke is another issue as the site is on an east/west axis it makes it difficult to avoid in the prevailing westerly winds, we had one group set their fire up behind us and the smoke was blowing directly into our tents, not pleasant!

There is only one toilet/wash/shower block for the entire site, and this is clearly bearing the brunt of too many people. On our last visit they smelt like a gents public toilet, so more regular cleaning would be a big improvement as once a day is not nearly enough to deal with the filthy and inconsiderate habits displayed by some people.

We pitched on the quiet after 9pm field, and found this was poorly enforced as the offenders quickly wised up to the warden patrolling in his Land Rover. To be effective, a far more subtle approach is needed to enforce the rules.

Weekends seem to see the site owners cramming in as many people as possible, leaving us with a claustrophobic feeling. If I wanted to be crammed in I’d stay at home!

We’ve returned in 2013 for a couple of short breaks mainly as the kids seem to like this site due to the woods and the makeshift swings (plus it’s not too far from home), but not sure we’ll be returning in 2014 as there are far better sites around.

Back for our 3rd annual holiday to Breck Farm, we decided to stay for 7 nights this time. We arrived on the Wednesday and found a lovely spot on the wood field. There was plenty of space to choose from. But by the Friday night it was very busy! We didn't mind the extra noise of an evening normally went quite after 10.30ish. But the toilet block became quite messy! I don't think this is the owners fault people should have the common sense to put toilet paper in the loo instead of chuck it on the floor also dirty female products on the floor would you do this at home?? On Sunday all was quite again we went on a lovely walk in kelling woods and found a outdoor gym trail good fun! We made good use of the sports field kids loved playing rounders. We had some very noisy neighbours for the last couple of days. We had 10 people in our group 6 being kids. I don't think it is a lot to ask your kids to keep the noise down early in the morning these kids were left to do as they please while the parents had a lay in they was up about 6am! Over all a very good holiday as always. I liked the addition of the summer house kids loved biking up to get an ice cream! Would recommend it to anyone!

Just returned from this site. It is based on a farm the piglets are cute but stink. Spent 4 nights here. Its was very noisy in morning and late at night due to some groups of youngsters complained but nothing seemed to happen. It is a big site but very unkept. Grass not cut and hadn't been for sometime. Toilets were in an old cow shed very dirty and only seemed to get cleaned in morning. Again could do with updating. Also as they allowed camp fires this causes a lot of smoke in evenings so made it hard to enjoy sitting outside. Litter seemed to be picked up by a chap in his 4x4 driving round with a long stick. Did not see him get out once. Toilet block constantly blocking up no hot water most of time. And last of all be careful on the tracks into and on site. So many holes its like the surface of the moon. Sorry but wont be coming back but on the plus side owner seems friendly
