This site is on the basic end of basic. The toilet facilities are not exactly clean, and as others have said no toilet paper is provided. 20p for a shower is a little steep, as this is only for 3 minutes.
The washing facilities are also very basic with a small covered area and the water was cold, and as there were only two other users in the field at the time I don't think there is really an excuse for this.
The pitch we were instructed to use was a little sloping, so we moved to another although I doubt we would have been able to do so if we went in peak period, and even our new pitch (the best left) was still a little angular
We paid £17 for a motorhome with two adults. To sum up, disappointed and would not stay again.

Small family run site within easy walking distance of New Forest. Set in beautiful countryside with lovely views. Only 10 minutes walk to shops newsagents etc. Pub nearby 15 minutes walk with good food and friendly atmosphere. Site maintained very well with good facilities for showers, toilets etc. Motorhome and caravan pitches with electric hook up. Also chemical waste disposal available. A real bonus being open all year round as many sites close for the winter months. Friendly family run site which hopefully we will return to.

We (2 adults, 2 children) camped here for 6 nights. This site is small with a couple of showers (pay by minutes) and a few toilets. They were kept lovely and clean. The site was fairly busy throughout the week with people coming and going for a few nights at a time.
We camped in the far corner under a tree which gave us welcome shade in our tent. The site felt safe for the children to run around and use their bikes. There is also an outdoor washing up area.
The site is next to a train line and we did not find the trains going by too disturbing. The local area and New Forest was amazing to explore. It was nice to be located on a quiet site during the evening/ night but within easy reach of the hustle and bustle. We took a trip to Bournemouth for the air show which was incredible and we will certainly be back for that next year!
Overall a nice campsite, well maintained, fairly priced and great location.

This site is in a great location for exploring England's sunny south coast. It is a small, secluded site with fresh water and chemical waste disposal and great showers.
Local information is available and the owner was very friendly. The only downside was that we couldn't get any TV signal (even with a satellite) because of the trees.
The site is right beside a small train station with trains to as far away as London! We got the train to Bournemouth and Lymington.
Sway itself has a few small shops and Sway Manor, a lovely hotel and restaurant.
If you're wanting to visit the Isle of Wight, you can catch a train from Sway to Lymington Pier and catch a boat from there.
Beaulieu with its motor museum, etc. Is only 10 minutes away, so there's plenty to do in the area.
Overall, an amazing campsite.

Stayed 4 nights with my husband, 2 sons (10 & 12), and my parents - who had a separate pitch. Firstly, I did read the reviews so was aware of the trains but they run from 5:30 am to past midnight, which was caused very early wake up times for us. So unless you are a very heavy sleeper be warned!
I have been camping for about 6 years and am used to all types of sites, but the facilities here are limited, 2 showers with loos and 2 separate loos, 1 indoor washing up area and 1 outdoor washing up area.
As the week went on, the site got busier, which meant that there were queues for loos and waiting for use of the washing up facilities - both of which frequently ran out of hot water, which is very frustrating when you have queued for 10 minutes and then find you need to use the other one and queue again and hope there is hot water.
The pitches are a good size, but we were pitched under trees and the mornings were cold - not in the sun.
I am not rating the site high for child friendliness due to the whole site being surrounded by barbed wire. But there is a separate field where the kids gathered for cricket and IT!
I did not meet the owner, but the couple who were wardens for the site were very friendly and did keep the limited facilities clean.
The local pub in Sway is still closed for refurbishment, local shop (Londis) and Post Office used infrequently.
Overall a good site for basic camping - but for £15 per night, would have liked some way of drying my hands after using the facilities!

We spent 6 nights on site, including the day of a certain Royal Wedding.
A slight error in booking arrangements meant our arrival was unexpected! However, the owner was most helpful and we were welcomed firstly onto an available hardstanding pitch for 3 nights, and then over the busy Bank Holiday weekend provided instead with a pitch in the farmyard of the farm, complete with electric hook-up.
The facilities are located in two adjacent wooden fronted 'chalet' style units. Two loos with washbasins in one unit, ditto but also with showers in the other. All are 'unisex'. The latter are not the roomiest of facilities, but sufficient. The showers cost 20p for 3 minutes - 40p makes for a more leisurely showering experience!
The site benefits from being within five minutes walk of Sway station - making exploration of the area by rail a real option. We left the van on site throughout, and visited Brockenhurst, Lymington and Christchurch - none more than a 15 minute train ride away and costing no more than £4.40 for an off-peak day return.
From Lymington there is a regular ferry service across to the Isle of Wight (35 minutes journey to / from Yarmouth)making another good day out. Also it is possible to walk directly into the New Forest from Sway - we 'rambled' to Burley and back - a day walk of around 11 miles.

I have just returned from this lovely little site after stopping there for 4 nights. The site has a slight slope but didn't really affect us.
It has 2 shower rooms and in the rooms were a toilet and wash basin, and 2 separate toilets with wash basin. 2 washing up areas with hot water and a fridge/freezer for all to use.
Yes there is a train line running along side the camp but the last train goes past about 10.30.
Overall I thought was very good value for money and will definitely be going back.

It was a nice tidy site pleasant but was told where to pitch. It was right on railway line with trains running past every 2 hours through night, it was a nightmare.
Toilets were run down and dirty we avoided where we could.
Road down to site is a big hill single track road and not easy for a caravan if needed to reverse.

A small and very pleasant site, apparently still a working farm. The lady in charge was extremely pleasant and helpful. Very quiet on our visit, but it was early Feb. Part of the mainly wooden farm buildings have been converted to form two toilets with included showers - these were clean and tidy, although we did not try the showers.
We stayed in a motorhome on one of the half dozen or so hard standing pitches, which were well set out and quite level, so easy to set up. The railway embankment rises adjacent to the site, but the trains caused no problems at all.
The site is very quiet and very dark, there being little or no light pollution. Lovely! Water facilities are located just inside the main gate, but I couldn't find a chemical waste disposal point. The site is fairly basic, so no cafe/bar/children's play area. This was not a problem for us, but may affect your choice of site.
A two minute walk back up the farm track brings you to Sway railway station, from where we caught a train to nearby Lymington via Brockenhurst. Surprisingly, trains also run directly to London from Sway.
The village is small and quiet, with a general provisions convenience store a short walk from Sway station, along with a Post Office / Newsagents. Regrettably the one pub in Sway,The Forest Heath Hotel opposite the station, was closed, apparently undergoing some sort of renovation. The village is right on the edge of the New Forest, so is ideally placed for exploring.
In all, a very pleasant little site, perfectly located for exploring the New Forest and coastal areas.

I stayed here late last year and it is in a really good position with shops and pubs within walking distance. I didn't notice any noise from the trains at all, it seemed really peaceful.
The toilets/showers are a bit run down and the washing up area is not well covered. There were only 3 units staying there during my week and I'm not sure how many they would take with tents on the field. I could imagine queues forming for the showers if they filled the field with tents. The showers were not that powerful either.
It is in a perfect place for exploring the New Forest and there is a lovely dog walk directly from the campsite.
