Had already reserved our pitch and paid online before we went. This was our 6th campsite in France and turned out to be our 2nd favourite. The road leading up to the château was impressive just a couple of pitches taken, went into reception and was warmly greeted. Told to pitch where we wanted and come back later and tell her what number we had decided on. We only stayed for one night and paid 44 euros for pitch, electric, 2 adults, 2 children and 1 dog. It was the most expensive place we stayed but I considered it to be well worth it for an overnight stop.
We went to the left of the chateau so we could be near the pool for the children and toilets etc. A few people about, all very friendly and English. Lots of trees dotted around on the pitches made nice shade.
We ate at the restaurant in the courtyard, the children loved their tagliatelle, everything else seemed to be served with frites which was a shame. I was hoping for some posh nosh to go with the surroundings.
Agree with everything else that has been said, a lovely relaxing place to stay.

Just returned from a 4 night stay here, which we used as a base for visiting landing sites and museums.
I thought the site was excellent - spacious, beautiful and clean. The kids enjoyed the pool and there's plenty of room for football and cycling. Pitches were spacious where we were in front of the Château, with plenty of privacy afforded by hedges.
We used the restaurant once, and were disappointed that the food was so basic, when you would assume that with a captive market on their campsite, the owners would be doing all they could to tempt you back again and again with well prepared and interesting food. Instead, it was burgers or similar with chips.
We visited Arromanches and Omaha Beach and spent a day in Bayeux. We were able to do some cycling to small villages nearby, that had shops and bars (around 6 km away)

We only stayed here for the final days of our 3 week holiday and found it lovely. It is so relaxing and peaceful. The staff were very friendly, the shop had some lovely inexpensive gifts in it.
The children loved the pool and play areas.
The surrounding area is wonderful for all, coast, cities, Bayeux was great, and history.
We would definitely use this site again and we found the facilities clean, the bar and meals reasonable and tasty, chickens roaming around giving it a country feel.
There is lots to do on and off site.
Just wish we could have stayed longer.

We had an excellent four nights here. Magnificent surroundings and not too far from Normandy beaches and memorials
The shower and toilet block is excellent. The first campsite I have been where the sinks are private as well as the showers! Others take note! There is nothing I hate more than brushing my teeth against the stench of a toilet block.
Bar is quite large and friendly and serves meals. I did not use it for food as the weather was good but I was glad it was there for back up. Friendly staff, free ice service and small shop.
Nice little fishing pool next to the swimming pool and play area. There are some decent carp in there. I had 10 small ones in my 2 attempts. You can see the larger ones basking on the top.
Closest supermarket I found was Cora that is 7 miles away,Huge!
I will be returning to this site again.

Just returned after a week at this site and what a great time we had.
We were given a pitch overlooking the playing field, which for our tent was a tight fit, but this is my only gripe.
The shower / toilet facilities were first rate, the swimming pool was a nice size and there was also a fishing lake, football and volleyball / badminton, crazy golf and a tennis court.
But the kids favourites (and adults) was the go-karts. These were pricey at 3 euros per 1/2 hour but,if you timed it right (late evening) they generally had them out for more like 4 hours.
Historically the Normandy landings are evident, and a visit to the Musee de Normandie in Bayeux along with the British cemetrey was well worth it.The Bayeux tapestry was also a good museum to visit, but speaking to other campers the Memorial museum in Caen was pricey and more about 9/11 than 1944.
In general an excellent site and would visit again if in that region.

We have just come back from spending 10 days here. I can honestly say that no day was spent the same, there is that much to do. We were sited to left of the chateau near the toilets at the bottom and for 2 young children it was ideal, there was a small grassy central area (only 6 pitches in this bit) so it was perfect for them to play around the site management seemed to be keeping this area for mainly tents with small children. We were also happy to let them go off to the loos on their own.
Facilities were fine we didnt use the bar though and only used the take away for frites once, bit pricey we thought for a Mcdonalds style portion (Euros 2.50) Shop fine for basics. There is a freeezer in the shop for ice packs but it took us a while to fathom out the ice pack situation so maybe a bit more info there would be useful, apologies if we 'borrowed' your frozen icepacks! (we did return them the next day!)
Toilets and showers were cleaned twice a day and I had no problems with them at all.
The site had organised a bloke to come with his transit van, wines and Calvados etc on monday evenings. Very nice chap!
Highly recommended.

A small pretty site, close to the Normandy beaches and Grave yards. We stoped here 1 night on our way to south Brittany, although we did not have much time here there looked plenty to do. The pitches were of a reasonable size and electric hook ups were available. The toilets and showers were clean and reasonable. Would stay there again and may consider a week next time in the area to explore more.

Great site! We were placed in a small area to left of / behind main house which seemed to mainly be used for caravans, but had a good level grass area for our largeish tent. Close to small toilet / shower area which was cleaned every morning. Other toilet blocks near other camping areas.
Good shop / reception with lots of info - excellent English spoken. Good washing up area.
Swimming pool very nice. Tennis court great although the need to book it and pay 5 euros per hour when using your own equipment seemed a bit much.
Bar Ok - we had one meal there. Basic fare but well prepared. Set meal good value at 14 Euros for 3 courses.
Excellent recycling facilites on drive on way out - bins for everything and even a compost heap!
We were there for 5 days - plenty to do with Bayeux / Beaches / War memorial sites / Cider farms etc. You can get a 'Normandie pass' for 1 euro extra at most war museums and this then gets you a discount at loads of other sites, including tapestry etc.

Great location for the Normandy and Bayeux sites. Cannot fault the site facilities including the roaming chickens. However, the pitches are a little unkept and are in need of some TLC. OK if you have a caravan/motorhome but not tents. The grass was in need of a cut too.
This site would be top notch if they had spent valuable time in maintaining their pitches for tents.
Overall great location, great facilities except the pitches! Would definitely return if these were sorted out.

Nice and friendly site within easy reach of Le havre, Caen and Cherbourg. You enter along a long drive with the chateau at the end. This drive area is used for overnighting units and also short stays so if you have very young children it could be a problem.
The main part of the site where we stayed was well kept and surrounded by a walled enclosure which gave quie an intimate feel for what is quite a large site.
The bar is friendly and quiet.
All in all a very well kept site which we will use again as an overnight stop.
Bayeux is a lovely little town but be sure to visit the tapestry before lunch as it gets very busy after that.
Arromanches is worth a visit. A bit 'kiss me quick'. Given its recent history it is typically French that the first memorial you come to when walking up the hill to view the landing beaches is to a minor napoleonic naval skirmish which they apparently won. All in the spirit of Entant cordial.
