After phoning a variety of campsites on arrival in Anglesey and finding them all fully booked (it was bank holiday!)we were very fortunate to secure a pitch at this welcoming, friendly campsite. The owners live on site and are therefore on call to give you any help needed, even showing me where we were on her phone as I had got totally disorientated having travelled around the island looking for an available site.
She gave us a choice of pitches and lent us a hook up cable as ours was too short. The pitch was flat and spacious with nearby toilets (2) and shower (1). A quick tip the meter for the shower is 'hidden' in a cupboard and make sure you put the correct coins in the correct slot. It is lovely and quiet too and you can walk to Newborough Forest and Beach - a good 5 miles each way but definitely worth it! The beach is amazing and the boardwalk really useful. We used the back lanes as they were quieter than the main road. There are two fields and if you camp on the top one you do have lovely views of the mountains. Both fields have lots of space to play games on.
The only downside is the lack of shops/pubs nearby - the nearest being in Newborough 3 miles away.
All in all a welcoming, well run campsite we would return to.

Returned from this site recently.
We were greeted by the owner and his partner and given the option where to pitch our tent. The field we chose was on slight incline, but was well worth it as we had a magnificent view of the Snowdonia Mountain range.
The site was well maintained with a shower block, toilets and washing up facility. A small freezer allows you to put your ice packs in. The toilets were clean but sometimes lacking toilet roll.
As a family of four my two children loved this site, there were families with their children on site and spent hours playing on the field. The site is close to Newborough beach and forest which we thoroughly enjoyed. The site is relatively small, yet has a good feeling about it.
Would we return? The wife and I agreed categorically that we would at £23 p/n including power, nice site, not crowded, great views and most importantly. The kids loved it.

We have today returned from our second visit to Ty Croes and will be going back again at some point. It's in a great location for the beautiful golden sandy beach at Newborough, easy to find, yet also tucked away enough that it is very peaceful. We camped both times on the top field, this time at the very top with our tent looking out and across - great views of Snowdonia. Although the field itself slopes, the pitches are reasonably level and very well spaced. We have a very large tent and Helen allows pretty much however much space you need - there's no stacking or cramming in of tents. When we first went at Whit, there was just 1 toilet block (2 toilets, 2 showers and 1 wash up sink), but this time an extra 'mobile' block has been put in with a further 5 toilets and shower. We can not fault the cleanliness of the toilets - Helen's Daughter and Neice are forever there keeping them clean - they were spotless on every visit - a real credit to the site. Open fires are allowed which is lovely and many homemade fire pits are dotted around for you to use. The site has free wifi access too! We paid on card using her wifi chip and pin machine in the field - great!

Bit disappointed! Price very expensive and facilities do not match up to description. Think it is a shame you have to pay for showers (20p per 3/4 mins) when you have already paid a lot for the site. We were on the bottom field. On an incline but ok. Field great for the children to play. Very basic facilities in bottom field. Pretty field at the top but new facilities ok! Owners pleasant and cleaner lovely.

First of all I was surprised when asked to pay in full on confirming booking by phone they have a card machine. We were greeted and shown around by the owner and told we could take our pick where we liked, we picked the bottom field had it all to ourselves it was great. Toilets and the shower had a makeover, and cleaned each day. All in all a good CL site but they have got a bit carried away with their prices £23 a night a bit much

Just got back from this lovely site and cannot find anything to complain about.
The toilets and showers were always clean and the campsite itself was spotless. Excellent value for money and the owners were very helpful and friendly.
We have just bought the motorhome and trying it out, must say everyone is really helpful.
More discoveries await in North Wales.
We would definitely go back to this campsite if we go back to this area.

A lovely site. Four toilets and three showers, two washing up areas. Lydia worked all day keeping these clean and tidy for guests.
A sheltered site with huge pitches, fires allowed which is a treat.
The owners were always available and it appeared they camped too. What an efficient way of knowing what is going on.
Confused with costs for showers: one block 20pence=3 minutes and another block 20pence=4minutes. Perhaps they should be standardised.
We had a wonderfully relaxing time and are likely to visit again.

Just got back from a lovely weekend. Site was as good as last year. Very clean toilet and shower block. Constantly being cleaned well into the night by very friendly lady. Owners also work very hard all the time to make you feel welcome. Only downside to showers is that they are too small and need more of them. Need to have an area that will keep your things dry. Do also think that for the cost of site fees these could be free. That aside site is great. Peaceful and lots of room between tents. Not regimented at all. Had campfires which are great to sit around at night. Not found another site that lets you do this. Will be back again next year!

We stayed here from the 14th August for a few days, wow!
Very easy to find, great sized pitches, not close to others.
We stayed in the top pitch, great views of the mountains, small amount of traffic noise from the nearby road but nothing to disturb really.
The site was immaculate, toilets and showers clean.
Shower takes 20p for four minutes, more hooks would help but nice and hot, plenty of hot water for washing dishes, no charge for this.
You can get a bag of logs, kindling and lighter blocks for £10 (you need a fire bowl or BBQ to have the fire in).
Great food down the road at The Marram Grass, gets busy so you'll need to book.
Beaches wonderful, so much to explore, we'll be back.

A fantastic site. Quiet, friendly with massive pitches and picnic tables provided. Sloping fields but with a good selection of flat areas for tents. Nearby garage sells essentials. Newborough (2kms) has a good shop and an unbelievably good fish and chip shop (the Codmother). Electric hookups fine. Plenty of space to enjoy privacy and company.
The site is ideally situated for the south-western beaches - which are the best in Anglesey. Lots of other attractions/activities within minutes like the Anglesey Sea Zoo and horse-riding on the Newborough warrens.
Reminded me of the best of non-commercial French campsites - even the weather was similar.
