Plenty of pitches available despite being the middle of peak season when other sites in the area were full. The site is very informal & the farmer who runs it is very friendly - no booking, no reception, just pitch up & pay for each day when he does his rounds - about 9:30 am.

The facilities are >very< basic - just a large wooden shed with 2 showers, 2 wc's & 2 washbasins in each of the mens & womens sides, which can lead to queueing at busy times! Also, there is only one washing-up sink, which again can mean waiting - and don't leave it too late in the evening as there is no light! However there is ample (free) hot water to the showers with good pressure.

There are excellent scenic views from the site, overlooking Boscastle and if you pick your pitch carefully you can be sitting outside your tent sipping a glass of wine while watching the sun setting over the North Cornish coast (weather permitting, of course).

Apparently the price hasn't changed since April - still £4 /night/adult; so for peak season I thought it very reasonable. Oh, and I can confirm the previous reviewer's suspicion of the site's exposure to winds having endured a somewhat gusty night last Saturday!

No facilities really at the site which made the £8 a night for 2 people and a small dome tent seem too much. The washroom is just a portacabin that smells horribly of mildew because it has no ventilation for the showers.
However, there was hot water which was nice, and the fact that the doors are kept closed all the time meant that it wasn't too cold at night. It was also kept clean, though we were there out of season.
The field was level and there were hedgerows around the borders, which provided useful shelter. I can imagine it would feel very exposed if it was windy, as it is very high up.
