Lovely woodland campsite with electric hook ups, if using a tent be aware you will be pitched on a slope, the staff told us there are plans to level the site but do not have a date for that.

Will need rock pegs and need to clear your area very well as there is a lot of flint and where they had new topsoil added there was a lot of glass however the staff are trying to clear it

The toilets and shower blocks are the best I've seen gallons of hot water from a powerful shower and were kept constantly clean during our stay of 4 nights.

Very nice heated outdoor pool small enough for children to play and adults could watch safely from super loungers around poolside to soak up the sunshine.

Friendly club atmosphere in the clubhouse during the evenings with bingo played most nights,

Children enjoyed the use of the small games/arcade room, small shop for most of the basics, but co-op was only 2 miles away and very easy to find anyway.

Welcoming staff and lovely quiet family atmosphere. We will definitely go again.

Very friendly campsite. Clean and tidy and the staff were helpful. We were on the back field which was quite large enough for our needs - real sense of community.

There is a small shop in reception which sells the basics (but shuts at 5pm), good laundry facilities with a freezer for your blocks. The pool is smallish, but heated and kept very clean etc. It gets very crowded if there are a lot of kids around, so if you want a quiet swim go early or late. The bar is spacious (food's a bit pricey) and has pool/snooker tables and a big screen. They have entertainment on weekends, and bingo most nights.

There are several villages nearby - Borough Green has a fair sized Co-op, fish and chip shop, chemist etc. We can recommend the Indian restaurant there - very tasty, lovely service and reasonably priced.

It's a perfect campsite for kids - lots of space, woodland, a small playground, a cat called Sox and a duck that roams around.

We will definitely be going back.

We spent 5 days here, me, my wife and 4 kids between 4 and 17 and we had a great time.

The toilet, shower and wash up area were always spotless throughout our stay.

There is a constant presence of staff around to make you have everything you want. The only way the staff could have been more helpful is if they had put up and packed away my tent. Lol.

The site itself is small so the games room and the club are small as well although there was entertainment on the friday, saturday and sunday we were there.

The swimming pool is small but we loved it as it is heated and it was roasting so the pool was desperately needed. There was no noise after about midnight which I found really weird for a campsite as I am used to noise throughout the night at most sites I have stayed at.

We loved our stay here and we do plan on going again but we agreed that if the weather was bad you would struggle to do stuff here as there isn't much to do indoors.

The shop is forgettable so we had to travel for 8 miles to a sainburys to get our food shopping not a problem for us but some people might not like that. All in all. They could also accommodate our tent which 10m x 7m. And if you are after brands hatch it is literally at the end of the road.

All in all I would recommend to anyone as long as the weather is on your side.

We stayed here for 2 nights. There was 7 of us in two tents, and my dog! We had a fabulous time! The staff were very friendly, and all the facilities were extremely clean! There is woodland surrounding and the kids had a great time going off and exploring! There were a few downsides but nothing that really mattered. The ground was very hard and it made getting the tent pegs in very difficult. We were on a hill too so the tent, table, cooker and everything else was slanted. We were also pitched next to a field of sheep which was beautiful to look at and quite sweet at first, but at 3 o'clock in the morning the baaaing can become a little annoying! All these things didn't matter to us at all, and we will definitely be returning! It was a fabulous weekend, we all loved it, and can't wait till next time!

I've been meaning to leave a review for ages as Thriftwood has become our favourite place to be! 18months ago we went to Thriftwood to visit friends staying there, two weeks later we had bought our caravan and secured a seasonal pitch! The owners were so friendly from the second we set foot on the site. The first thing we noticed was the cleanliness, the pool area was spotless and toilet block cleaner than any other site we had been to. The children fell in love with the place instantly, the pool being the biggest attraction but also the games room and the freedom of playing in the woods. We have 3 children aged 10, 6 and 2 and all of them love it equally. The local area is beautiful we often walk along the footpath across the fields to the local village pub and local shops are only 5mins away. There are also several lovely national trust houses, eagle heights, lullingston castle, a Roman villa, a boot fair on Sundays and a lavender farm all within 20minutes drive. As London is only 20 minutes on the train too there really is always something to do. The clubhouse sells meals and during peak season has family entertainment most weekends where everyone is welcome. We can't fault it and would recommend it to anyone.

Recently stayed for a weekend with wife and 2 young boys!

Nice location in amongst trees/wooded area. Some have mentioned hard ground but we had no big problem.

We found owners and staff to be extremely helpful, even beyond the call of duty to help us!

Services were all clean and tidy with no problems with hot water.

Facilities included a small clubhouse which was adequate and included a bar for the grown ups. Limited hot meals available although we didn't try. Amusement room with slot machines not tried as our children are young! The swimming pool was small but adequate and the children and us certainly enjoyed a swim. Children's play area was small but tidy, better for small children but there are also walks through the woods which were good to run off a little energy! The shop is very limited but the site does provide details of local shops to help.

We did notice quite a number of statics and seasonal pitches and couldn't help feeling perhaps we were 'encroaching', may be because they are all pretty close to the touring pitches. The other thing is that we thought the touring pitches were quite close together and not really that well defined.

Certainly a site worth using again!

Stayed at Thriftwood end of last month for a week with my partner and our 2 kids. On arrival we found the staff very warm and welcoming, we were sited to a pitch near the park which was perfect (kids had fun while we set up camp) the site also has a lovely heated outdoor pool showers and toilets were clean. The clubhouse had entertainment and was very family friendly, we went on a couple of the walks including through the woods, the park grounds are beautiful and well maintained we had a wonderful time and have booked again for bank holiday. Would recommend to anyone, 10 out of 10

Just returned from a 4 night break. The new owners have obviously put a lot of time a money into the camp. Nice bar, clean toilets and showers. Didnt use the pool but it looked OK.

Unfortunately very disorganised as far as placing units, no apparent forward planning. When we arrived the gentleman that placed us was told to ' Put them where you like' Hard ground is an understatment. We even bent our rock pegs and broke a hammer!

I have just got back home from 3 nights at Thrift Wood. I must say it was a lot better than a lot of camping/caravan sites. The swimming pool was a big hit with my son. I had to force him out when it was raining, as I was getting wet watching him! As mentioned before, the ground is VERY hard once you go below 3 inches. I will be going to Millets next week to replace my pegs with heavy duty ones as 9 out of 19 pegs are now boomarangs!

This will not put me off though as a new set of pegs is a small price to pay for such a great site, with easy access to anywhere, ( 1 min from the M20 J2).

We will be back again!

We booked an electric hook-up pitch, but on trying to set up were told by the lady in the tent next to us that we couldn't because that pitch was be reserved for her sisters arrival, (We had been categorically told on the phone that the pitches were 1st come 1st served!)

There was nowhere else for us to go where our hook-up could possible reach. We were 'eventually' shown to another pitch after much negotiation. The campsite was packed with about 2-3 meters between tents.

The toilets and showers were not that clean. If you have children the pool is good but has been well photographed in web picture, as it is actually quite small, but beware, when the clubhouse turns out it can be very noisy on site.
