Having read reviews before we booked we were disappointed with this site.
The staff were friendly but initially showed us to a pitch where our door opened onto a road (not good with children). We also pointed out we had booked an awning pitch. After a short time we were moved to an acceptable one.
The pitches were not well kept, the toilet block was old cold and on two mornings had no hot water. The play area was in desperate need of updating.
In a good location for visiting Blackpool but we would pick another site if we were to revisit the area

Our 2nd visit to this pleasant rural site, (we last visited in April last yr.) To add to our original review, we enjoyed our stay and will certainly visit again. The better weather made the non heated toilet block more bearable, but would avoid an early or late season visit.Toilet emptying facilities were not very easy as was the grey water which was even confusing - the cold water stand pipe was signposted no emptying of grey water. If they think people who have invested in waste-masters are going to lift them into the toilet emptying facility- sorry I'm not able or willing to. The shop is adequate for emergency supplies plus there is a Premier store just down the road (5mins by car) or better still an Asda superstore with clear directions available at reception, they were doing a beefburger tasting on a BBQ outside the the store when we visited. The staff are friendly & helpful, a pity the grass is cut with no pick up as we found this trampled into our van & had to be regularly swept up - but it was otherwise pleasant to manage without our groundsheet as they aren't encouraged. Spacious sites were allocated but ignored our request for hard-standing. The overall pleasant rural situation, spotlessly clean toilets and closeness to Lytham was what made our stay enjoyable

We went along to this site for the Easter weekend . It's not cheap. On arriving we were sort of greeted by the lady in the shop who asked us to stand by while she served her customers. Oh well cash must come first. On arrival at our pitch I attempted to move my caravan onto the pitch using my caravan mover. It could not cope with the sodden grass not to mention the many mounds of grass cuttings that were just left around the pitch. I had to utilise the assistance of one of the staff and another caravanner to push my van onto the pitch.
When we were set up I asked at the shop if there was any chance of the great mounds of grass being moved as I wasn't using an awning and every trip out of the van saw vast amounts of grass emigrating onto our carpet. I was told in no uncertain terms that No the grass would remain as everyone would want it moved. WELL??? This was costing over £20 a night. The first grass of the season had been cut with no attempt to lift the cuttings. Anyone knows what the first cut of the season is like. I walked my dog in the dog walking area and by the Sunday the dog mess bin had overflowed onto the road and was still there on the Monday morning. The toilets did not cope with the numbers. We saw the toilets cleaned only on the Monday. There was a cleaning rota on the toilet wall but never filled in. Much time was spent keeping the many children on bikes from running others over and balls constantly hitting carravans. Not to mention the dog poo all over the site . No staff were ever seen trying to control anything that was happening. All in all a very disappointing site with too few staff to look after the needs of the visitors.

We did a long weekend here and it was okay - the wardens were quite keen and hard working - forever seen with a mop or brush on the go!
Shop good, plenty of room on site to enjoy your own privacy and sheltered areas if that's what you like. Play park area not the best we've seen but our lad said it was 'alright' though he didn't like the fact the footy field was outside the camp and had a touch of dog mess here and there.
Facilities - wash-up good, showers and loos spotless and you can help the environment by recycling your rubbish at the nearby environment waste site (they insist you do which is commendable).
Transport: Unless you have a bike or car, the nearest bus stop is a fair walk away - 10 to 15 minutes - but you then have a regular service into Lytham, St. Annes and you can change for Blackpool. There is a bus that will passes by and will drop you outside the site but it's a limited and 'funded' service and not as regular as the local services and doesn't run on Sundays.
Seeing there aren't a great amount of sites near to Blackpool, Eastham Hall is well worth staying at!

Just had a short 3 night stay Thursday to Sunday. The route to the site from the M55 is good and an easy drive. The site got quite full over the weekend with loads of kids using the roads as a race track on their bikes. The receptionist was flat footed telling them off for playing around the security barriers. The site has a mix of statics, seasonal tourers and tourers. Its Ideally placed for walking into Lytham and beyond if you don't mind the walk. We walked from the site to Lytham St Anns Pier and shops along the flat prom stopping at Fairhaven Lake there and back, around 10 - 12 miles. This is a very pleasant walk with plenty to take in. Back to the site, units where in MYOP, too close together and some of the pegs aren't level so blocks and chocks will be required. Seen plenty of bricks in use so they must have a local store? Also had to ask a couple of kids to stop riding their bikes in between the vans and stick to the road. Toilets blocks are a plenty and adequate and clean. Seasonal tourer site looked a bit unkempt with equipment just shoved under and around them even though they where not in use. This part of the coast is a very nice change from the Blackpool scene and much more quieter and clean. Nice safe walking with your dog. Would I use this site again, only as a last minute booking as was the case this time. I would use CC site at Blackpool and drive into Lytham in all other cases.

Came here with my hubby, 2 kids and the dog, very friendly people made yo u feel welcome, very clean toilets and showers, great park for the kids which they loved and more so the football pitch which they were never off with having 2 boys! Great walking area for the dog which was fenced off so they could run free, shop on site which was well stocked up, if you want a quiet and relaxing holiday this is the place to come, we only came for the weekend but loved it,cant wait to go again! The only downfall was that they do not allow tents, which is a shame because we have friends who have tents and we go on regular weekends away with them and I think they would have loved this campsite, but overall it was brill!.

Just had the most relaxing weekend ever, excellent facilities spotlessly clean, very peaceful site which is maintained to perfection. Separate dog walking field and well stocked on site shop make the need for towns unnecessary. Very helpful staff in reception pointed out local amenities and points of interest and supplied a free map and also recommended a local pub in the most picturesque village for an evening meal which was good value for money. Have already booked for another weekend! If peace and tranquility is what you seek then look no further. Highly recommended.

Our 1st visit, Easter Thurs / Tues. Super friendly, peaceful & clean site. Good location handy for Lytham, St.Anns & 6mls to Blackpool. Typical blustery weather with heavy rain at night but cleared up & sunny in day, clever use of driveways overcome wet boggy grass, but make sure you have suitable pegs (metal) for awning as driveways very hard. Newly developed children's activity play area, plus large playing field with separate dog walking field made this a family friendly site. We enjoyed our stay & took advantage of staying till 5pm for an extra £3. Being Easter we found the toilet blocks cold & weren't able to take advantage of the spotlessly clean showers, if heating was provided this would be an ideal all year site as others have mentioned. There is an excellent variety of good eating out places along the coast, we enjoyed a carvery at the County Hotel in Lytham £11.95 for two, the Crown Hotel on the promenade so came highly recommended plus lots of quality cafes serving coffees & snacks on the pavements- quite continental. At Blackpool we sampled the famous Harry Ramsdens fish & chips which were excellent value. For those wanting to leave their vans on site for the season or part of, they offered good value packages clearly advertised in the reception windows. We shall definitely be paying a return visit in the warmer season to this efficiently run site.

I love this place. I have been visiting this site since I was a young lad, (I am 40 now) and have to say that it must be my favourite site in the UK. It appears to be on the site of an old railway sidings, and the site of the engine turntable remains, as do some of the old railway buildings. Over the years it has evolved and improved, but the overall peaceful character has remained.
There are some hardstanding pitches, and some are just grass. The facilities are always clean, although if they were also heated perhaps the site could remain open 12 months. I have always found the site staff friendly and helpful, as well as being flexible, for instance, you can arrive up to 9pm.
The nearby town of Lytham is as delightful as ever, with a beatiful main street retaining much of it's Victorian character, including many wrought iron shop canopies. There are good pubs (try 'The Taps') and good places to eat. Blackpool is only a few miles up the coast for a more bustling time! All in all, highly recomended.
