We stayed one night in their Wigwam as we started out 'Wigwam Tour' of Scotland. What an amazing place!
Friendly service and a lovely clean bright, comfortable Wigwam with a kettle, fridge, microwave, cutlery, glasses, cups, plates etc. All immaculately clean. You know how sometimes you want to wash everything before you use it? You don't feel like that here!
Step outside the front door and you have the best views over the Solway Firth and about 4 meters away is the path down to the beach.
You can lie in bed in the morning (4inch thick foam mattress- a bit firm but quite comfortable) looking out across towards the Cumbrian mountains. Wonderful start to the day.
The facilities are THE BEST I have ever encountered, and I've been camping for over thirty years! You need the fob off your Wigwam key to get in, as access is restricted. They are modern, clean and new -lit by ceiling spot lights - reminded me of a smart hairdressers when I walked in and saw the leather sofa and area with mirrors where you can sit down and dry your hair(small charge for dryers). There are about 6 large cubicles in the ladies, each with its own toilet, small sink and shower. Theres a radio playing through loudspeakers- so no worrys about being overheard. Showers are £1 for 6 minutes- but it's worth it!
The only down side I could see, if we were to stay longer, is that it's a very quiet site and a lot of the people staying there seemed very old. Their rules are quite strict and our son, who is only 9, would have got a bit fed up not being able to run amock for any length of time!
Despite this we hope to return for a longer stay next time!

Just returned from a one night stopover at this campsite, and we'll definitely be back. It's one of the cleanest sites we've ever stayed at, and as for the showers, it's the best £1.00 you'll ever spend for 6 minutes - they're fantastic!
The well stocked shop accommodates every possible need, and the pitches are completely flat.
Highly recommend this site!

This site has all going for it but one thing - the location ! The site is level, toilet block, laundry facilities and campers kitchen all very good, clean and spacious.
They have a truly fantastic spa area (which you hire for personal use) with four person jacuzzi, large trainer pool and sauna. The staff are friendly - BUT the location is the ‘campsite at the end of the universe’ (Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) - and is very, very, very windy. The site is totally unprotected from the ravages of the Irish sea and is in constant wind. The management advise you to remove awnings in wind
Nothing for kids to do - no playground of facilities
Granted the stay was marred by two days of unstoppable horizontal torrential rain - which is unfortunate. But the staff did admit the site is ‘ALWAYS WINDY’
Pity as they are clearly trying with the site and facilities (Spa area is five star). If you do go would strongly advise heavy duty storm pegs and ties (or concrete blocks and an anchor).

For the second year in a row I have spent my birthday(and a few other weekends in between) being treated like royalty at this marvellous site. As usual you arrive to be welcomed by friendly staff, attentive owners and their lovely dogs.
Pitched up on my favourite shore side pitch (was quite surprised to get one at high season) which gives you a lovely coastal view. Where there used to be 20 shoreside pitches there is now just 10 with means the pitches are even bigger now.
Everything else was up to the usual high standards I have come to expect from this site. Excellent facilities which are always spotlessly clean, well stocked shop,16 amp hook ups, and of course the fabulous Spa.
If your looking for an all singing dancing party type site this ones definitely not for you, but if you looking for peace and quiet I can highly recommend it.
This site is well placed for visiting, Annan, which has a good sized Sommerfield, Costcutter and Farmfoods. Gretna which has a a great outlet village and Dumfries.

We have just returned from a short break in a hired self catering 'bothey'. It was fabulous. The attention to detail and friendliness of all of the staff was outstanding. Beautiful views of the Solway firth and well situated for visiting Dumfries, Carlisle, Moffat, Kirkcudbright etc.
There's a train station in Annan, around 5 miles and we got the train into Carlisle as we remember it being a bit of a nightmare place to park. The train was £4.20 return and saved the hassle and expense of driving in.
A very quiet place, perhaps not everyone's cup of tea, but for peace and relaxation, the best place we've found. Wonderful.

Just arrived back from a wonderful holiday in Scotland my first experience of the far north. Booked for our 1st 3 nights at this park and stayed for 1. The pictures on the internet do not do justice to the adjoining field which has old farm machinery and rubble scattered around it (this is the field that the animals are in). Also the caravan field is full of large holes one running the full length of the field. Then the electric tripped with only our kettle switched on what a great start having travelled for 4 hrs. When I went to reception I was then interrogated about what sort of kettle I had (ours is a basic Argos kettle nothing fancy, not even rapid boil) and was told that it was assumed that everyone had camping kettles and thus would not trip the circuit. We have never had any problems on other sites! 45 mins later a man arrived to flick a switch in the middle of the field, nice enough man and he left the box open incase it happened again. Which it did 3 times during the evening. After much discussion it was decided that as we only had 3 days there we would stick it out. The animals were very nice.
So off to the much talked about shower block for my husband. They are very nice however no-one told us that it would be 40p for 2mins and £1 for 6mins in the shower which I took great exception to. (we would not have minded paying if it had least been mentioned in the literature, then we would have had the choice)
View of the Solway Firth is lovely but you can't get near it as old caravans are parked there. These appear to be seasonal pitches so don't hold your breath if you want want at shore side. When stating that dogs should be kept on leads I assumed this meant all dogs but obviously not the 3 large labradors that were roaming round reception most of the evening.
On the plus side animals are nice even the emu which tapped ever so lightly on our caravan window every now and then!

We have just returned from a wonderful short break at this lovely caravan park. It has been our third visit in the space of 6 months which shows how much we enjoy our time here.
We stayed in one of the parks static caravans which was in excellent condition, had a huge decking, was lovely and warm, had fantastic views out to sea and equipped with everything to could possibly think of including fluffy bath robes, slippers, towels and toiletries to match.
The park itself is constantly maintained by friendly and helpful staff. The reception has a small shop area where you can order your papers on a daily basis which is ideal if you don't want to trek into Annan every day.
There's a host of nice towns to visit including Annan, Gretna and Dumfries.
Once again we made good use of the spa which includes a small pool, a sauna and outdoor hot tub. This visit was made even more special by the thoughtfulness of the owners and staff who, on realising it was our 50th wedding anniversary, left us a bottle of champagne along with a card.
Its so nice to visit a park where you are made to feel so welcome and pampered which is the reason we will be returning as soon as possible.

Our first visit to this site was just after the site had been upgraded, previously there were no reviews and we were a bit reluctant to visit.
We were glad we did visit though, the tent pitches are quite big and very flat, on an open field. The only downside being if it's windy, its, WINDY!
The site is situated on the banks of the Solway Firth about a 30 second walk to a massive flat stretch of the tidal estuary. When the tide is out you can let the kids run riot, perfect for kicking balls about, beach cricket or flying kites, there is also a small petting zoo for the kids.
The site toilet and showers are always immaculate, with constant hot water, there is a campers kitchen which is a god send in bad weather. There is also a small shop on site selling all the essentials.
Annan is only 5 minutes away by car where there are a couple of small supermarkets and local shops. There is an excellent cafe on the main street where I got the best full breaakfast I've ever had! Anna in also close enough to get back from in a taxi if you decide to go out for a drink and something to eat. Which brings me to the downside, there is no pub or club nearby, only the golf club hotel which is about 5 minute walk.
There is also very little close by to visit. So a bit of travelling is needed to get anywhere. There is a Ice cream parlour on the road to dumfries which is well worth a visit if you have a sweet tooth.
We would definitely visit again.

WOW! This is one fantastic site. Within walking distance of Powfoot golf club and just a few miles outside Annan, which has a good sized Somerfield and a Costcutter, its ideally placed for touring the surrounding area. The layout of this park has been particularly well thought out with specific areas for family pitches. A choice of shoreside pitches to allow you a sea view or field pitches which are not as exposed to the wind and give you a great view of the gorgeous horses, donkey's and Alpaca's in the adjacent farm.
There is a little shop in the reception area that stocks the all basics. The facilities block looks as if it has just been built. The toilets have several cubicle wet rooms which even include a dispenser with soap, shampoo and conditioner, are immaculately clean at all times as is the laundry room. For campers there is a fantastic campers kitchen with use of a microwave and a seating area which must be a godsend in bad weather.
The jewel in the crown of this site just has to be the private Spa which you can hire from as little as £15 depending on which package you choose. It boasts a small pool for power swimming, a sauna and a hot tub and its fantastic!
The staff are extremely helpful and always on hand if needed. On booking you will be charged £20 deposit for the toilet key, it may sound a lot but I would imagine it's because it's the electronic type and would be expensive to replace. On the plus side it is nice to pick up £20 as you leave.
There is also a choice of self catering units from a wigwam to log cabin, we were so impressed with this site we visited twice in June and have booked a self catering unit in November.
If your looking for a quiet, peaceful and relaxing holiday I can definitely recommend this site, after all where else could you spend 4 nights in high season on a premier pitch with EHU and 2 visits to a Spa and get change back out of £100. Can't wait for my return visit.
