We have just returned from a quick weekend away with my two nephews and elderly Dad and we all agree that the campsite served us well. It's small and intimate and they do pack the tents on but for a weekend that is fine. The site is well looked after with a small new shower/toilet block which is good but we would say it's let down by the lack of cleaning it regularly and that there is no toilet paper provided! We camp a lot and have never had to take our own loo roll so remember to take some!
Pub food is great and the location for us was spot on as we drove the 1 mile to the centre of Bridgnorth and 6 miles to the Old Vicarage adventure centre where you can pre book a fantastic family adventure day.
Overall, a great little campsite but a couple of simple adjustments/attention to detail would bring campers back time and again.
Dogs as per other reviews are audible but in the distance and didn't bother us.

A friend and I stayed here for a night during a hike around Shropshire. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming, and really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Very helpful local knowledge too.
Food and drink in the pub on the site was excellent and fairly reasonably priced.
The toilet block was clean and well kept, and although small, seemed adequate for the size of the campsite.
Although we only stopped the one night then moved on with our trip, it seemed there would have been plenty to keep us occupied in Bridgnorth and surrounding areas for longer.
Would definitely stop here again.

I spent a very enjoyable weekend camping for an 'it's my Birthday ' treat with my wife and 2 friends. Very quaint pub with clean camping/caravan site attached situated close to Bridgnorth. New shower block has good facilities, access to toilets in pub also accessible 24 hours. Owners and staff very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating.
We ate in the restaurant on 2 occasions both were very enjoyable.
Other reviews note noise from nearby kennels, this is audible but only heard twice a day corresponding with feeding times we imagined.
Small entertainments room with pool table, Piano and TV.
Site more suited for adults.

Nice quiet site and level pitches, however toilet block let it down badly, as only 1 shower and toilet each sex and the field holds 40+ people. Dogs in the background really loud, nothing for the kids to do, the inn nearby was rather expensive £3. 20 a pint. £20 a night pitch fees we felt was rather expensive for what you got. On arrival we were shown to our pitch but had to find our own way to the facilities on site. Wouldn`t go again as there many sites with a lot more to offer for less as here.

Just back from a two night stay.
Very basic site, good shower & toilet facilities.
We were told they had only just been opened and if there were any problems then we could use others available. Thought that the grass area for tent pitching could of done with a clear up, there was quiet a bit of burnt grass where people had made fires and also a pile of sick! Also thought that all of the building debris could of been cleared away. Good job we were the only tent there due to the choice of clean area to pitch.
Bit of noise from the local kennels but ok.
Lovely pub, and lovely,lovely family/owners.
Would like to visit again if a few small improvements made.

Just returned from a lovely two night stay.
The pub and site are just a couple of miles from Bridgnorth and is well sign posted.
Good access onto the site from the car park. The site is mainly grass, but there were 3-4 hard standing ptiches too.
We opted for grass as the ground was good and quite firm.
There is currently the refurbishment of a small bungalow into a shower and toilet block, which will be ideal when finished (very soon I think). We didn't need use the sites' facilities as we used our own, but during the refurbishment you can use the pubs toilets and showers at no extra charge.
TV reception was pretty poor, but we had a satellite which was fine. Mobile phone reception was good (02), but we did struggle to get radio two!
The pub is very quaint and we were made very welcome by the staff. We ate in the pub both nights and although a touch on the expensive side, the food was very good.
As with previous reviews you can hear the dogs in the nearby kennels, but they did not disturb us at all.
Bridgnorth is well worth a visit, but please note that the Cliff Railway does not open to midday on Sundays!
Ironbridge is a must too while in the area.
Although we only live a 25 miles from the site it was very relaxing and pleasant site to stay.
We would stay here again

Just got back from a weekend at this delightful site, as previously described by other people the dogs up the road were a bit of a nuisance. There was an inconsiderate family who could only communicate by shouting, but apart from that it was fairly quiet.
The pub caters for activity weekends so while we were there was a 19 strong stag party, they did not affect our stay one bit and were well behaved, the only downside is we had chosen to eat at the pub instead of cooking ourselves so we had to wait until these 19 covers had been done first, it was worth the wait because the food was lovely, it is not the cheapest but it is certainly not the most expensive.
The toilet is as previously mentioned in the pub and is left open 24/7, I will concur that the showering facilities leave little to be desired. I didn’t think the cost to stay with electric hook-up was too expensive but I do understand others comments regarding the lack of suitable facilities.
There are plenty of places to visit such as Ironbridge, the Severn Valley Railway, and Bridgnorth market on a Saturday, to name a few.
Would I stay here again? Possibly if other sites in the area were fully booked, but it suited us perfectly for what we wanted to do this weekend as in no cooking and eating out at the pub.

My wife, grandson and I stayed here for one night at a cost of £16 which I thought was very reasonable. My wife slept in our VW campervan while I slept in a small tent with my grandson.
The pitches are all on level ground and was quite busy on the Saturday night we were there. As previously stated in other reviews, there is 24hr access to the toilets which are in the pub itself. There are two showers in a bungalow type building which I assume is some sort of holiday let. It has a living area complete with beds, sofa,TV etc, small kitchenette and a bedroom. In all honesty, the showers were not very good and if the owner were to convert this into a proper toilet and shower block, I think he would attract more campers as the site has a lot going for it.
The food and drink in the pub is very good and the people who run the premises are very welcoming. There is not a lot of room for games or for kids to run about but this site would appeal more to adults anyway. There were a few inconsiderate people there being very noisy until about 2.00am but being in a tent, you hear it more. They didn`t bother my wife who was in the van.
There are also some kennels nearby as I could hear the dogs howling and barking at various times throughout the night. This site tends to cater more for the caravan / motorhome type of traveler and as such, it is well worth a look but if you like peace and quiet and you`re in a tent, then you`d be better off looking elsewhere.

We have just returned from this campsite + it wasn't quite what we expected, there are 2 areas, 1 just for caravans + campervans and 1 for tents. The tent field has no marking for pitches + this weekend there were about 13 tents - some close together, the caravan field was the same.
The toilets were in the rear of the pub ( for the customers too) 1 shower in an unused holiday let which had mould on the ceiling. There are 2 bathrooms in the holiday bungalow in the tent field with showers, we had to ask for the key for this, despite others being told it was open from 8.30 am to 8.30 pm. 1 shower was cold. The pot wash facilities were in this bungalow.
The electric in the bungalow kept tripping our ehu out. The bungalow was shut on sunday as people had gone home, so we had to queue to use the 1 shower as the pub is shut so we were unable to get the key for the other showers.
We paid £18.50 a night for 2 adults + a child which we thought was expensive considering the lack of facilities - there is nothing for children unless they like sheep, which were in the next field, the hounds make quite a row when they start too.

A small flattish site at the back of a pub. Grass short and not muddy but the weather has been dry.
Bus service on the road outside to Brignorth which has a Sainsburys.
Good base for the Bewdley / Bridgnorth / Stourport / Much Wenlock area with the Severn Valley Railway.
The caravan field is adjacent to a tent field and uses the toilets in the pub and a shower in a chalet building. Camp field had another facility block but this seemed to be locked a lot of the time so campers came through to use pub facilities as well. Toilets were generally clean.
Toilet and shower are open 24 hours but were not really enough for the number of people using them especially as the caravan field had 11 units on it rather than the 10 it is supposed to have which also meant that units were very close to each other and to the hedge.
No play area and not a lot of space to play.
Two raised waste points and water taps.
Staff in the pub were really helpful and the food was excellent although not cheap.
The road outside the site is not nice for walking on as it has hedges both sides and no verge. Not many places to walk dogs.
Hunt kennels just down the road – noisy at times (early mornings and evenings mostly) and hounds exercised down the main road with one man on a bicycle and a lady on a horse failing to keep them under control.
Noisy at night on some nights – one weekday night there must have been a function at the pub because it was very loud until the early hours and the language was pretty ripe!
A good site if you just want the basics and don’t mind the noise but pricy (at £17.50 a night)for what you get.
