Found it very difficult to find a place this Easter Bank Holiday as all sites in the vicinity were fully booked. Eventually found this site. It cost £70.00 for three nights and I thought that it was a bit pricey.
There was no one there when we arrived just after 1pm, but we eventually found the barman, but he couldn't tell us which pitch to take.
The Camp itself was full and very small with the caravans tightly squeezed together. There were no shower/toilet blocks, something I expected to have for the price we paid, but apparently we could use a shower and toilets in the Pub. Never did find the Shower and eventually found the toilet

The site itself was clean but no indication of what was what or where etc.

Owner's comments: On a bank holiday we have a minimum stay requirement of 4 nights, so we made a concession for this couple for 3 nights and offered a reduced rate.

We are a campsite attached to an Inn so we don't have separate checking in facilities that this couple for some reason were expecting.

There is a shower that is available next to the pub (not in it as per the review), and more are made available on bank holiday weekends - they should have just asked if they couldn't find it! What's more our locals do not use the shower, it is solely for the camp and caravan site guests.

We stayed for one night in mid-March.

Haven't done much camping in the past but we were perfectly pleased with our choice.

Site is quite well kept, toilets were warm and clean throughout, and showers are available (although we didn't use them). Grass is short and dry. We were the only tent so could take our pick of spot.

Best bits:

Cute old bar with decent drinks, seating and sport on.

Friendly landlord who took lots of effort to make us whatever we wanted for breakfast (homemade jams etc too!).

Located just outside of bridgnorth, a great old town with plenty more good pubs, all just a 20 min walk away (Nice route across the fields).

Not so good bits:

£6 each seems a fair bit to me, but worth it considering location.

I'm sure there are sites with better facilities in the UK, but this site is small (room for approx 15 groups max) and so I wouldn't expect that much.

There are sheep and dogs nearby which do create some noise - didn't cause us any problem however.

We would definitely revisit - the location is great and the landlord is friendly.

The pub itself is very quaint and does good food and real ales. The staff were very approachable and helpful.

I wouldn't go there again because I felt the pitch price was expensive for what you get. The pitches are very close, luckily the site wasn't full but you would be uncomfortably close to your neighbours if it was, and cars would have to go in front rather than alongside if you wanted awnings up.
The toilet facilities are in the pub, and you use the shower in one of the holiday let bedsits. It was all clean and tidy but sorry, for £15 per night inc. EHU I expect a decent sized pitch and a facilities block. If it had been say £10 per night then I would have said it was good value. I have stayed at nicer sites this year for a lot less cost.

Bridgnorth is a very short drive away, lovely little market town, and the site is also very handy for the Ironbridge Gorge and museums, Severn Valley Railway, Telford Town Centre and Wonderland Park, West Midlands Safari Park etc.

We looked forward to visiting this site as the attraction of a 16th century pub was too much to pass up ! The pub itself is as you would expect, low ceilings with a lot of original features and the local cider was pretty good. We didnt sample the food unfortunately. There is a sainsburys around 10 mins drive away as you go into bridgnorth.

The site itself is small and private, with hook ups and water taps around the site, ideal if you want a quiet time away or only want to visit the pub and crawl into your tent after, we felt unable to use the shower, which was housed in a room near to the pub as it was dirty and smelled awful (drainage problems?). After we complained some attempt was made to clean it but we still chose not to attempt to use it as it was just plain grotty even after being cleaned. We chose to wash in our tents! The toilets are fine, being part of the pub and open 24/7, one toilet for gents and ladies, which were heated but this didnt cause a problem as it's such a small site. There are no washing up facilities. This site is ideal if you dont want a shower and we did have a good time there despite this. I would advise you to think carefully if you have young children as the site is accessed from a narrow road which is national speed limit and you can tell from the speed of the cars passing by. I would be very hesitant to take curious toddlers to this site as the road was too dangerous for us to take our bikes out onto and a toddler or young child wouldnt have any difficulty accessing the road! Also be prepared to be woken briefly at 4am each morning as there is a hound kennel not too far away and they obviously get fed at this time, as you have 10 mins of barking and howling at this time. The neighbouring sheep might be a problem if you are a light sleeper too. For us, it just formed part of the experience but its unlikely we will be returning. (only because there are so many other sites to explore)

As a family we went and stayed at The Halfway House Camp Site, just for the one night. We were very impressed with the helpfulness of the staff when we arrived and during our stay. The toilets were also for the pub but were open 24hrs and clean.
I have to say we did not use the showers only because we have one in the motorhome and with water easily available we tend to then use our own. We also had a meal in the restaurant in the evening and were very impressed. Overall a nice place to stay at, would certainly stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay here, a small site and no bother you can just turn up on site and stay. As the site is out of town, car travel is a must with small children in tow, but if just a couple or older children and the right weather the walk into Bridgnorth is a pleasure. Children were safe and could run and play with easy access to toilets 24 hours a day just one small problem ladies only have one toilet so may have to wait. They have a large beer garden and BBQ for warmer weather. Staff are very friendly and are willing to answer all questions. Will be returning again in a few weeks time and will be recommending to others

Ideal location. Pitches are cramped,The inn side has 2 pitches for vans VERY close to the chemical toilet disposal point, and vans must be backed around a telegraph pole to use the other one.
Need the Loo? Use the pub toilets. Want a shower, shampoo, shave?. Get key from pub to use the en-suite facilities in whichever 1 of its 2 outside bedrooms has no paying guests. Pub closed or rooms booked? No toilets OR showers

If you have a verysmall awning you may have room to erect it, but take care. Water is fed to the site through poly pipe inches below ground. Just after our arrival it was holed by a three inch peg being used by the couple next to us. Result? No water. The Landlord eventually provided a leaky old garden hose and showed us an equally old tap buried in the undergrowth (No connector so I lent mine).

What a bizarre place! Booked in advance so thought it would be fine, arrived and were told to pitch on the pub carpark for 3 days! Had a showdown with a motorhome that returned and tried to claim our car park pitch. Easy to get to, facilities however basic. Food ok in the pub but well over going pub prices.

As above cramped. Very noisy till late - it appears to be adjacent to another site that hosts paint balling and activity breaks. The people on this site were in and out in taxis till the early hours. Singing ad telling tales of their night out till very late.

We made a group booking for three caravans. When we arrived the site was waterlogged due to heavy rain, (not the site's fault). We were all pitched together. To say we were cramped is an understatement. The caravans are far too close together. Our row supposedly had four pitches but there was barely enough room for three caravans to put up awnings. The toilets and showers are located inside the adjacent pub. You have to request a key each time to use the showers so we didn't bother. It cost £60.00 for the Bank Holiday weekend (you have to pay for four nights on a Bank Holiday however many nights you stay).
