We only live up the road, so wanted a local site for our first attempt at camping. We could have been in another world though - what a beautiful site! Friendly staff, gorgeous riverside walk right at the end of the site, duck pond complete with ducklings waddling about, bar, shop - even a TV room and pool room. Very clean site, with excellent toilet and shower facilities. We would definitely go back.

Stayed here August last year. Lovely quite site with great access to Kendal, and the lakes. Very small tent pitches, but as it was not busy and we were put on the end we were able to park next to tent. If it is busy you have to park in the car park. Toilets clean, again as it wasnt busy there was never a que for the showers. Little bar which got very crowded, drank out on the patio. Pool table & darts room and little shop at the entrance. Owners very pleasent and helpful. Little pond near the tents, with some very friendly ducks. BBQ and picnic benches dotted around the tents.
Aboslutely excellent drainage to the site, we stayed for a week and it rained heavy every night and the site didnt get muddy or soggy, no ponds in the tent!
Wouldnt recommend the site for people with children, nothing for them to do. Would visit again.

April 2005 Just got back from Waters Edge Caravan Park. Very quiet and in lovely situation. Toilets and Showers were clean, warm and light and lots of hot water. Only down side was the bar on site was not open for the 3 days we were there but the nearest pub was just a short walk away and was very welcoming. We went with no children and not sure if there would be anything to keep them entertained. On the whole very good site for a peaceful few days.

August 2004 This is a great site, in a really good position to explore the lake district and close to the M6. The tent pitches were quite small, but set around a lovely pond with lots of very friendly ducks, and several permanent bbq areas.
Very friendly staff and a good bar area.
The toilet block was fine, but possibly not what I would have called luxurious as stated on their website! We would definitely visit again.

July 2004 Lovely site, Really good location to kendal ect. We were in a tent as said before only 5 pitches and they are at the opposite end of the park from the toilet block. toilets ok 6/10 have seen better. There is a duck pond at the camping pitches our eldest child was fine but under 6 it would be a hazzard, nothing for the kids to do on site no swings ect. But a really relaxing site.

Easter 2004 We visited this site in a tent and it was lovely, mostly caravans only three or four tent pitches. We would definately go back again, the facilities were nice and clean, there was a small shop and a little bar. The people running the site were very nice. A very good central location. The only small drawbacks were that we couldn't park the car next to the tent, the tent pitches were furthest away from the showers and toilets and the tent pitches get booked up quite quickly as there aren't many of them!

May 2004 This site is very well kept, small shop in reception and great little bar at the rear with plenty of space to sit inside or outside in the sun. Toilet block was ok - 8/10. Access is good about 1/2 mile from M6 and close to South Lakes and Yorkshire Dales. If you are into walking the site is very close to Lancaster canal. Pub 100 yards from entrance. If you have small children the site has a duck pond, stream to one side and the canal feeder beck running on the other side, so not recommended.
The biggest draw back with this site is room, the pitches are the smallest I've camped on, two of us went and we had to forget one awning, the next pitch's vehicle has to nearly park in your water tank. It was so bad I parked my vehicle away from my caravan. This was a great shame because just another 10 feet per pitch would have made all the difference .
Having said that it would not put me off staying for another weekend but any longer the lack of privacy would annoy me.
