Just spent a few days at Pyscodlyn with the family. Facilities lovely and clean even after the day of rain we had!
Reception were very helpful in helping us plan our walks and directing us to any local facilities.
The site is flat and felt safe which was great to let the kids ride their bikes.
Very peaceful, friendly and well situated for exploring the mountains and the lovely town of Abergavenny.
Looking forward to returning next year when hopefully the kids are big enough to make it to the top of the sugar loaf.

This site is in an excellent position for exploring this area of Wales. It is nice and flat and the toilets are clean. I used all my own facilities on the van so cannot comment on the showers.
I did use the washing up facilities and the laundry and both were excellent, clean and well maintained. It can get a bit muddy as all the sites seem to be on grass except for the static vans around the edges of the field.
Perfect place as just a place to sleep as there is nothing there apart from the pitches and toilet/shower facilities. I would use it again definitely for its cleanliness and convenient position.
The access out onto the mainroad is really bad if you are wanting to turn right as there is a blind bend to the left.
It didn't bother me in the car but moving the van out was a bit nerve racking!
I think if I had had a bigger van I would have turned left and found somewhere to turn around up the road in a safer place.

Just spent a week here. On booking in we where told that we could pick any free pitch along the centre tree line (we had hook up). We picked a space in the middle so we where well suited for both the ladies and gents shower block.
Both where very clean in the gents it was a push button shower and the ladies had the temp control type.
All the fresh and grey water was on the gents shower block each also had a pot wash.
We had a walk into Abergavenny along the river very nice but it is a good 40 mins into town.
Plenty of other walks start around the site. Would we go again yes the site was well placed for travelling into the Brecon Beacons N/P.
Only thing to note the exit from the site on to the A40 is on a slope and a blind corner from the right. Not to bad with just the car but when we left with car and caravan turn left and about 500 yrds on the right is a layby. A lot safer turn.

We loved this campsite and camped in the field adjacent to the main site. It was very relaxed however quite noisy at night with traffic and wildlife! - I didn't realise a cow could 'moo' so loud! - Nothing earplugs don't solve though.
The view from the tent was lovely with mountains either side and lovely sunsets.
My only real gripe was the ladies showers, other reviews say the toilets were great but maybe they were written by men as my young daughters preferred to go with their Dad to the showers as they told me the men's block was much cleaner and nicer.
The ladies toilets were dated but fine - however the showers were unclean and grubby, if you showered for longer than a minute you had to stand in over 2 inches of water where I assume the drains were blocked. The only problem was as they were dirty you were standing in other peoples grime - or if there was grass and mud from a wet day on the floor you were standing in this.
Otherwise lovely relaxing site and I would go again

We visited wales for the bank holiday weekend which was very wet! But the ground was well drained, so it didn't get overly muddy.
We had an electric hookup for our tent. The campsite is lovely, quiet, clean and in the most picturesque spot!
The kids enjoyed scootering along the road which circles the camping field. There was also plenty of space between pitches to play ball games.
The lady who owns it is really helpful and very pleasant. She told us that we could choose which ever site we wanted!
Would recommend it and definitely go back!

Just returned from 2 night stay at Pyscodlyn, first-time campers, testing out new tent etc. Picked this site at fairly short notice for bank hol weekend, hadn't wanted to travel very far but wanted electric hook-up.
Can really only echo what previous reviewers have said - clean, well equipped site with very friendly and helpful hosts.
Main field for caravans/electric hook-up is flat, well laid out with plenty of space for our large tent. Lots of pitches occupied with seasonal/permanent caravans but many unoccupied so quiet - but guess it's still early in season.
Located immediately off the A40 which is busy and fast so there is some road noise but nothing to spoil enjoyment of surroundings.
Children (7 &10) had a great time, cycled around perimeter track many, many times in between making friends with other children. No playground but this didn't bother the children at all.
Facilities clean, no problems with hot water.
It rained heavily on our 2nd night but as it was relatively quiet, the owner was relaxed about our departure time which enabled us to delay packing up until the tent had dried - a massive bonus.
Abergavenny just down road, lovely river walks/cycling - children cycled from site to Abergavenny along pretty lanes. Plenty of other cycling around algthough we didn't try out the hills on this occasion. Decent sized Waitrose is just 10 mins from site. Probably lots more to see and do, but short stay wasn't geared towards exploring on this occasion. Would go back.

Spent just one night here last night to test the new awning and we were very impressed. Clean, tidy and well presented.
Very relaxed arrival, we were told to make our way onto the touring park and pitch wherever we liked. Nice even pitches with grass well maintained. Selected a pitch of equal distance to both the male and female toilet / shower blocks. (Yes they are in separate directions).
Waste water, aqua roll fill up, cassette toilet clean out station and bins are situated at the male block so nice and convenient.
Lots of touring vans permanently pitched so can look a little busier than it actually is.
Overall, if you want peace and quiet, no fuss, nice and simple camping in fairly picturesque surroundings then this is for you.
Take care when exiting the site though as exit is from an incline onto a 60mph busy main road with a blind corner.

A lovely site. Friendly owners and very helpful. We will be coming again soon. All flat pitches and easy access to town.
Only two small problems:
1 only 10 amp hook ups kept cutting out with kettle and heater on together.
2 not enough lighting around the toilets
But i must say the toilets were perfect, clean and tidy. Considering the muddy weather we had they were kept clean.

We visited at Bank Holiday weekend, so the site was completely full, and we were lucky to find a pitch free for us (as we had not booked). Very reasonably priced at £13 for the night (2 adults, child & camper).
In spite of it being chockablock, we really liked this site. The surroundings are beautiful - the Brecon hills on one side, and the Black mountains to the North. Abergavenny is only up the road, if you need shops, pubs, restaurants etc.
The site is well organised. The main field has a road running around it (avoids mud, nice for kids on bikes), with caravans pitched around trhe edges. In the middle, are about four rows of young trees - eg rowans, which mark out the inner pitches, where both tents and caravans etc can camp. There is also another smaller field for tents. We had plenty of space, and though surrounded by campers, felt welcomed with smiles and nods. Our son also made a friend within about half an hour of arrival. I got the impression that many families return here regularly.
The grass was short and the site well maintained, and though the weather had been wet in the week before our arrival, the ground was dry.
I was worried that the toilet/shower block might be insuffiecient for the crowds, but there never seemed to be queues.
Would definitely return next time we are down this way, and wished we could have stayed longer, but we were on route to somewhere else.

Had a brilliant stay here. The facilities were really clean and the showers only cost 20p a time and were really hot and lasted for ages. It was mainly families staying here so the atmosphere was great and there was always other children to play with. Abergavenny is a lovely bustling town with a local market 3 days a week, however being 2 miles away it would have been nice to have a locol shop nearby or on site.
