We stayed at this site for 2 nights over the weekend and had a great time. The facilities are basic but more than adequate. There is one toilet and shower block for the ladies and one for the men. In the ladies there are 2 showers, 4 toilets, and 2 sinks. You need a 20P for the shower. There is no shop, no park, no entertainment. It was great as the kids made their own entertainment, making new friends and watching the cows in the adjacent field. You can put your tent in the caravan field if you want electric or you can go through to the tenting field where there is no electric. We staying in the tenting field and felt this was a better field for us. You pitch where you want, but what we liked was that everyone was pitching on the edges of the field and the central area was left clear. This gave a great area for the kids to play safely and for the parents to be able to actually see their children instead of worrying about where they are. I dislike camping fields where there are tents scattered everywhere as it is a nightmare to watch your children so this was great. The site was clean and well kept and the toilet and shower block was regularly cleaned. There is a nice room with 2 dish washing sinks and drainers together with washing machine. This room was also nicely kept. The wardens caravan is right outside the ladies toilets and you can call on him if there are any problems. Whilst some people may prefer a larger site with parks and entertainment, for me, this was perfect and we will definitely be back. If you were camping alone this would be a nice site, and the field is also well away from the road. A short car journey takes you back into Abergaveny where there are plenty of shops including Millets if you need any tenting spares and also an Argos. We found a Weatherspoons pub that sells food all day and is very reasonably priced. Happy Camping!

£19 per night for a caravan and four adults + 1 child. Toilets and showers very basic but always clean. Perhaps could do with a few more in high season - there was some congestion in the mornings. Nicely landscaped spacious flat pitches. Impressive display of flowers around static caravans. Dogs welcome. Friendly owner and very friendly male warden. Heard two reports of poor customer service regarding female warden but didn't experience this personally. No shop on site but plenty of tourist info leaflets available. Nearest shops a couple of miles away in Abergavenny. Two pubs within easy walking / cycling distance, although it is a very busy main road with traffic travelling at high speeds. Food at the Lamb & Flag was a bit better than standard pub grub but not exactly gourmet (what did we expect from a pub?). That said, there was an attempt to use local produce. Good wine tasting session at the nearby vineyard, although there wasn't much to see as the wine isn't actually made there. Would stay at this site, again.

Will definitely be back here. Nice flat clean site. Plenty of space for everyone. We went with a couple with a tent - they were allowed to camp next to our caravan rather than being segregated in their own area. Owners friendly. Reasonable price. Toilets & showers cleaned regularly and are more than adequate. Access easy from the A40 onto main site. Everyone in Abergavenny is friendly! Lovely walking nearby.

Stayed for a week and can say that we thoroughly enjoyed the whole time. Campsite was immaculately kept and facilities were no different. Good base camp for all activities, we did both active (Walking) and visiting sites of interest. There are plenty of both available and there is always plenty of information situated outside their front door. Again the Davies' are very helpful. Well worth a visit and we will always be prepared to go back if in the area. £10.00 per night for two adults, a tent and two dogs is more than a bargain.

This is my first experience to camping and very lucky to choose this site for starting place. spacious space with flat and short cutted grass. There are seperate site for caravan and tent and lucky us there are only two group at the time so it was like camping in a private area.
The site situated in a farm between blackmountain so there are cows around while we hanging around, made a perfect country side athmosphere.
There are basic facilities such as shower, toilets, laundry machine etc and it was very clean. We went to the river (thanks to the friendly owners who've been really helpful to gave us any information) which is just 5-10 minutes walking distance and swam for a bit although it was quite dangerous because of the rocky base.
Would definitely recommend Pyscodlyn site for relaxing time in a cozy countryside area simply because we had a great time there. So definitely worth a visit!

You have the the option of staying on the field in the middle of all the statics and sited touring vans, or on the open 'tents-only' field, with no water or lighting. We chose the 'tents-only field, which turned out to be only a short stroll to the facilities. You could camp where you wanted with plenty of room and flat, soft pitching, which had fabulous open views down the valley and to the surrounding mountains.
The facilities were small and basic but cleaned regularly. The Ladies had 4 toilets, two basins, and two showers, (one room cubicle no shower curtains, 20p for about 12 mins) in the ladies, and similar facilities in the gents which was further down the statics field, where the elsan and rubbish points were also situated. Near the Ladies, was a washing-up room/laundry with two sinks, and coin operated washer and dryer, and this is the only place on site to get water for the tents field. We had glorious weather for the the 3 miles into the bustling market town of Abergavenny.
The campsite farm is on the A40 main road (70 mph.) It is pavemented all the way, but was very busy and beloved of bikers (but not hikers!) who like to congregate by the bus-station cafe in Abergavenny.
There are regular buses to Abergavenny and Brecon from the bustops a few yards from the camp entrance.
An ideal base for exploring the area, well served by public transport and reasonably priced at £10 per night for tent and two adults. We would return to this site.

May 2005 I'm very new to camping, this being the third outing for my two children and myself but this site had all the things we needed. Basic but regularly cleaned shower block (can't comment on the Ladies, all boys here!) and clean and spacious dish washing room. The site was flat with short grass and plenty of space for my kids to run around with a football. There were trees around a lot of the site and as it's in a bit of a valley the breeze tends to come from only two directions.
Although my visit was on a busy bank holiday weekend with lots of families, the site was quiet and the owners were frequently around should you need help. The lady in the farmhouse was very helpful, so despite not having a shop as far as I could tell, she helped with small things wherever possible, even to selling me a stamp when I ran out of ones for postcards.
Waitrose in Abergavenny is only a few minutes away by car, and there is a late opening garage with shop on the way as well, very useful on Sunday's. We visited the Dan-Yr-Ogof caves (about an hour away) which was an excellent day out, the Big Pit (about 20 minutes away) which was free to enter and included a 50 minute underground tour (no children under 5 years though) and a day out at Raglan castle (about 20 minutes away), a fantastic place, lots of areas to walk around and a cafe just round the corner by the farmhouse. More info on the places above can easily be found on the net, but I had so much more printed out that we could have done, that I will definitely be going back. Everybody I met at the places I visited was courteous and helpful, so much so, I even felt brave enough to try a little Welsh! Diolch yn fawr.

August 2004 Would recommend Pyscodlyn site, even thought I can't say it! The owners are very friendly, and even lent us the 20p for the shower. Showers and toilets are basic but clean, although at our side of the field there was only 2 showers, so a queue builds up during the morning. The camp site is close to a nice pub and not far from the town centre. It was central for doing lots of tourist things on the map. I would definitly visit again.

August 2003 Psycodlyn is a very comfortable campsite run by a friendly family. The ground is flat and the grass soft and there was plenty of space for the kids to play even on the weekend. Only 2 min from Abergavenny and on the A40. Great walks from the site with the Sugarloaf and river Usk practically on site. Amenities were very nice and clean but the showers required 20p to operate. Around £7 a night for a couple and tent. Definitely worth a visit
