Spent two nights here on Easter weekend and it is an excellent site. The facilities are immaculate, with heated blocks, plenty hot water and power showers. The site has an interesting layout, set in an old quarry and gives good privacy. Site owners were helpful, although I did get slight telling off for arriving in the dark! They need to make this clearer in their description. The woman evidently wanted to get finished, despite the facth that it was only 6.30.
The location of the site is ideal. It's about a ten minute walk from the town of Leyburn, which is a nice town with a busy Friday market, great pubs and a few places to eat. The area provides good access for The Forbidden Corner, Hawes, Ayegarth Falls and Semer Water. However, you will need to drive or use public transport to reach such places. Overall, superb site. 10/10.

Great location, quiet site with clean heated toilet block. The lower part of the site was awash during very heavy rain on already soaked ground, and parts of the site were a little muddy but that was more to do with the weather than any defect in the site.
Probably more attractive for adults, walkers rather than families with children.
We will definitely visit again.

Stunning! There isn't really any other word could describe our 5 nights here. We arrived with 2 children and a dog to be met with the most 'tame' wild ducks and ducklings I've ever seen. The kids, (and us adults!) really enjoyed feeding them. My 8 year old was amazed that they ate from her hand. Days out included the forbidden corner, (a must!) and an afternoon at the teapottery and the chocolate factory. (I've come home 4 stone heavier but what the heck!) Myself and the girls went into Leyburn for the market, (its a female thing!) and then back to relaxation and tranquil settings for a drink sat outside our van with the BBQ cooking tea. Once we have been filled up, we sat back and watched the aerial display of the local bats.
The showers were always HOT and powerful. The wardens helpful and happy. Only down side we can find is the approach road in. Hubby walked down the hill and then called my mobile to let me know the road was clear. Same in reverse for coming home. We have come home happier people for being there and well be booking again shortly.

The pitches for tents were at the top of the site and at the side of a long drop down a quarry face, not at all safe with children of any age! The toilet facilities were at the bottom of the site and quite a climb back up for anyone, even worse for youngsters. Tents seemed to be an afterthought and we were shocked at the location of the camping area. We think that they shouldn't bother with the tents and make it exclusive for caravans, for which it may be a nice site. The toilet facilities were clean but hot water was limited at busy times! It's a long walk into Leyburn, approx 20 minutes along a busy road. We would not return to this site at all.

What a nice little site, the entrance to it is a bit scary if you aren't too confident at reversing your caravan I would possibly send your passenger on ahead by foot as there's a 50 metre run where its only wide enough for one car and its a blind spot so I imagine it may be fun if 2 caravans met halfway - well it would be for me with my lack of reversing skills ! The site itself was lovely and close enough to Leyburn to walk or even better take your bikes. Walking round the site there looked to be some really nice secluded corners for tents and with it being an old quarry quite a lot of protection from the elements. Not many amenities on site but wasn't a problem and Leyburn is close enough for the shops. We went to the forbidden corner - excellent day out - all in all a good weekend always helps when you have half decent weather

The general appearance and first impression of this site is that it is a bit scruffy in comparison with other CC sites; it also has quite a few seasonal pitches. It could do with another toilet block too. However, we understand the Club is dealing with this, and the facilities that exist are spotless as always. The site is in a disused quarry and very sheltered; lots of wildlife to be seen. Don't go if you don't appreciate ducks hoovering up for you during breakfast! A very friendly place, and well situated for discovering Wensleydale without having to drag your van too far from the main road.

Spent 3 nights here on our first camping trip... myself and 2 children. Excellent facilities - loads of hot water, super showers and all so clean. We will be camping here again...didn't want to leave! A children's playground would have been nice although my children had no difficulties entertaining themselves.
Toilet and shower room for the disabled was excellent I thought and every eventuallity cosidered.. grabrails in all the right places and sink, shower controls etc at appropriate heights for those in wheelchairs. Plenty of space for transfers although a mobile shower chair would be better than a static one. There was also a flip down shower seat on the wall.
Leyburn is close at hand and has everything eg. bank, chemist, post office supermarket and lots of places to eat. Aysgarth Falls is worth a visit as well as Richmond. The Forbidden Corner is a must!
