A lovely little site with a village (excellent Indian restaurant) near-by, and plenty of walks straight off the site. The warden is friendly and helpful, and as other reviews state - the facilities were clean but basic, but never busy. Our dog was welcome. Just one negative - if you pitch on the far side of the field there is some traffic noise as the nearby road is a bit of a race-track for motorcyclists. Quiet at night.

Just returned, small group of vans.
Site is lovely and extremely well drained, not problems with mud despite all the rain we've had.
Easy access from main road.
Frances the warden very helpful.
We all had a great time, at least that is what everyone said.
If they ever get round to building a proper toilet and shower block we would definitely go back, this is the one thing that sadly lets it down.

My wife and I spent 3 weeks at lairhillock in april and enjoyed every minute of our stay and will be revisiting asap
The site is friendly and quiet
The toilet block is due to be modernised but adequate
The pitches are good
The owner is very friendly and has full knowledge of the surrounding area
On arrival the wardens show you to your pitch and that's your break started
We loved it and the people we met who just went to enjoy their caravan and have a relaxing time
We cant wait to go back

The site is very nice, but the facilities are dreadful. Toilet in the portable cabin so small I had to straddle the pan so I could close the door. There is another toilet in a shed, clean but leaves a lot to be desired.
Plenty of water points along with power points. Washing up sink left a lot to be desired its about 4 feet from the ground, I did not see a playground but there is plenty of open space. I did not use the local pubs or attractions as I had business in the area so cannot comment.
The warden was quite helpful and its a pity the owners don't invest in the facilities. I think the price of £15.50 per night is overpriced by £5.00. We shall not return.

We found the facilities very basic and would really rate this as a Cl site. The toilets were very small and the shower even tinier. There was a toilet in a shed which was larger. To access this you had to put your finger in a hole in the door to open it and hang an old wooden sign up to say it was occupied. There was a larger shower again in a shed which when we visited the grouting around the base of the shower was black. It definitely need a good clean. The plus side was the area round the site, which was beautiful countryside. You are in easy reach of lots of interesting places. We found the Old Mint in Southam a good place to eat. Jean the warden was friendly and helpful and I would give her 10 out of 10. On the whole I think this site at £15. 50 per night in February overpriced. Although in it's blurb it states facilities for the disabled I would not recommend it. All in all not worth another visit.

Just come back from the BH weekend at Lairhillock. Generally a nice quiet site except for some traffic noise, didn't particularly bother us, but it was noticeable both day & night it didn't keep us awake but I would suggest taking earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
We didn't have any noise from the industrial units next door that has been mentioned by some previous reviewers admittedly we were there over a BH weekend but even this morning (Tuesday) they were still pretty quiet.
Site was full until yesterday anyway but as it was mostly caravans and motor homes the facilities coped very well. The facilities block was kept very clean, but is a little basic and could do with updating. The showers in both ladies and gents are very small I could just about open/shut the door whilst standing on the floor but I am only 5' and size 12. My hubbie who is 6' and a slightly larger size had to actually stand in the shower tray! Having said that the showers were hot, powerful, clean and free.
There is another shower in the washing up area which is much larger, but if you use that one anyone wanting to wash up has to wait.
The washing up sink is an old 'butlers sink' and is set rather high so you do have to use the step provided to wash up. Also there isn't really anywhere to put your dishes while they are waiting to be washed.
There is also a separate toilet in a shed next to the main block, which is a lot more roomy and we actually liked, as long as you remember to lock the door!
Site is in a good location and we had two very enjoyable trips out to Charlecote Park and Kenilworth Castle. One place I really must recommend very highly is the local Indian Restaurant 'The Essence of India' the owners run a free taxi service to and from the site. The food was excellent as was the service, a treat not to be missed!
All in all Lairhillock is a nice site, and despite the slightly 'quirky' facility block I would definitely return.

What a quirky little site this is. The pitches each had a tap &EHU between two. Nice flat site The quirkiness comes from the facilities.
There is porta cabin men & women toilets with 2 loos & a shower in ladies & 1 loo & shower in the men's. The showers in both are free & hot. Only problem with them is they are so tight you have to stand in the shower tray to shut the door or open it from the inside.
The sinks are also very small but there is lovely loo & sink in a shed. Yup a shed! There is also a huge shower in the washing up area. As mentioned before you have to stand on a step provided to reach the sink to wash up.
We loved the site and will definitely be going back.
The real surprise was the Indian restaurant in the local village Marton called The Essence of India. They offer a free taxi service to & from the site which we took up. We were so glad we did as the food was brilliant one of the best Indian meals we had. They also deliver to your pitch.
We found the wardens to be welcoming and very helpful. As previous reviewers said there is a relaxed attitude to packing up which was very welcome. Lots to do around the area so pop along you won't be disappointed.

Nice quiet site. The wardens really friendly. Showers are a bit small and the dishwashing area could do with modernising, have to stand on a step to reach the basin and also not much room to put your dishes.
Apart from that would recommend this site. Toilets were always immaculate I just feel the facilities could do with updating a bit.
Area is lovely there's a nice garden centre, Blooms on the B road to Rugby[out of site turn right and then a little way up there's a B road on right]. Also there are a couple of nice pubs [out of site and turn left] right by the canal and a nice walk along the canal.

A nice quiet site, we were given a nice welcome and help to position the van.
Toilets and showers are ok but could do with cleaning daily, the one in the stable where you wash up and get information is nice and large (remember to lock the door)
Directional TV aerial needed.
Lots to do around the area, recommend Kenilworth Castle with it's new Elizabethan garden or Charlecote park.
Kenilworth it's self is very nice.
Lots of flys around when we were there.
There is a flock of rare tree sparrows in the trees around the site and lots of other birds.
Great place to break journey from north to south coast. 7 miles from M69

We arrived for a long weekend trip late one evening. A sign directed us to pitch up anywhere that was free and the warden would see us when free. We picked our spot and put our tent up. It was a good flat site, so no need to worry about slopes etc.
The site is well looked after, with clean toilets and showers. The facilities are basic and only one toilet and shower in the gents and 2 toilets and 1 shower in the ladies with an addition of a shower in the washing up area and another loo in a shed for use by all. We never had to wait for either toilet or showers, but I'm not sure I'd want to be waiting on a day the site was full.
Our only real disappointment was the noise from the road and the neighboring industrial units. The road is noisy all day and all night and we could hear it at all times. Whilst not bothersome during the day it did keep my partner awake during the night. On week days the industrial units started banging and drilling before 8am. I suspect that both would be quieter if you pitched as far away as possible on the side nearest the entrance.
There are some nice walks available, with advice on where to go on the notice board. We walked into nearby Birdingbury and had a nice pint in the Sports club (I think it was called Birdingbury Club), but there are a number of walks to suit all.
We didn't find any local shops to buy food etc, but we were out each day and visited a supermarket on the way back to the site. I'm sure there are shops in the nearby Long Itchington.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, but we're not sure it's best suited to tents. If staying in a caravan the noise would almost certainly be negligible. The ground is also rocky which makes putting tent pegs in difficult (so take your mallet), and it's not got any real scenery to speak of. We liked the fact that it was adults only and the site was peaceful, other than the noise mentioned, because of that.
