We arrived for a long weekend trip late one evening. A sign directed us to pitch up anywhere that was free and the warden would see us when free. We picked our spot and put our tent up. It was a good flat site, so no need to worry about slopes etc.
The site is well looked after, with clean toilets and showers. The facilities are basic and only one toilet and shower in the gents and 2 toilets and 1 shower in the ladies with an addition of a shower in the washing up area and another loo in a shed for use by all. We never had to wait for either toilet or showers, but I'm not sure I'd want to be waiting on a day the site was full.
Our only real disappointment was the noise from the road and the neighboring industrial units. The road is noisy all day and all night and we could hear it at all times. Whilst not bothersome during the day it did keep my partner awake during the night. On week days the industrial units started banging and drilling before 8am. I suspect that both would be quieter if you pitched as far away as possible on the side nearest the entrance.
There are some nice walks available, with advice on where to go on the notice board. We walked into nearby Birdingbury and had a nice pint in the Sports club (I think it was called Birdingbury Club), but there are a number of walks to suit all.
We didn't find any local shops to buy food etc, but we were out each day and visited a supermarket on the way back to the site. I'm sure there are shops in the nearby Long Itchington.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, but we're not sure it's best suited to tents. If staying in a caravan the noise would almost certainly be negligible. The ground is also rocky which makes putting tent pegs in difficult (so take your mallet), and it's not got any real scenery to speak of. We liked the fact that it was adults only and the site was peaceful, other than the noise mentioned, because of that.

I first visited this site last year and it was a lovely site as I reported in an earlier review. A quiet and peaceful adult only site with reasonable fees to match the basic amenities and the ever helpful wardens with lots of walks in the local area.
But what a difference a year makes. On arrival we were shown to a pitch instead of being able to choose as in the past. Gone are the previous wardens who were so friendly.
To our dismay the fees have rose considerably since our last visit but with no improvement in the facilities. Some new industrial units have been built in the adjacent disused railway and work starts there at about six am. and went on until after ten pm. whilst we were there. The constant noise is of sports cars revving up and a metal works of some kind with sheet metal clanging. Ok if you want an early morning call!.
After speaking to other caravanners on site we were informed that this goes on all the time now. Also if the wind blows from the southeast paint fumes waft across the park from the paint spraying workshop making it unpleasant to sit out. So our return to this site was not a happy one but it was our last.

We have just spent a very enjoyable, peaceful Bank Holiday weekend at Lairhillock. It was easy to find & well signposted.
On our arrival we were allocated a pitch & a very helpful warden helped my partner reverse the caravan onto it. We had a grass pitch although there are several hard standing.
There was EHU & fresh water tap on our pitch & plenty of space between us & the next unit. The toilet/shower block is basic but clean with an endless supply of hot water. We saw a planning application for a new block.
The village of Marton is a 15 minute walk away with 1 pub which is also an Indian restaurant. As we had our 4 legged friend with us we ordered a take away which they delivered to our caravan door! Well worth a try if you like Indian food!
The nearby village of Long Itchington has 6 pubs! They were all very busy when we visited as there was a beer festival going on as well as it being lovely weather for sitting by the canal & watching the boats go by. Lovely walks by the canal too.
We visited Warwick & Stratford which are both a short drive away through lovely countryside.
The site is adult only so nice & quiet & far enough away from the main road that traffic noise is not a problem. We were able to pre order a newspaper to be delivered to us each morning by the warden. They also said there was no rush for us to vacate our pitch on the last day so we lingered in the sunshine til about 3.30.
We have already said that we will be using this site again.

We have just returned from this site. We spent a pleasant weekend there. We were welcomed by the warden who was very helpful and informative. We had a nice flat, grass pitch with EHU. There is a water tap by each EHU.
Being adults only it was quite peaceful but there were a few units together who were noisy earlier on in the evening but then became quiet at night. It is worth bearing in mind that they do allow groups.
The toilets and showers were rather dated but basically clean. The washing up sink is interesting! It is so high that you have to stand on a stool to reach it! The stool is provided, thankfully!
It's a great site to walk from. Good walks are to Draycote Water and back, and Long Itchington and back along the disused railway lines and canal. The warden was very helpful here.
We barely noticed the main road noise. The Industrial units next door, down on the disused railway line, were a little intrusive on the Saturday but they were clearing rubble so this probably isn't always the case.
We would definitle return for a weekend as it's close to home.

What a gem of a site. The wardens are fabulous and extremely helpful and relaxed. Its an adult only site which is great.
There are about 26 pitches, most of which with EHU. Our pitch was very quiet - I do believe that if you are further up the site, you do hear a bit of road noise.
The wardens are very relaxed about the time you leave and we even stayed until 5.00pm on the Sunday because the weather was so gorgeous.
There are loads of walks surrounding the area and a great one for the dog along a disused railway track. We visited one of the many country parks in the area which was gorgeous together with a little village called Long Itchington which had lots of great pubs!
The toilets/showers are dated but they are very clean. There is only 1 shower for the ladies, but I never had to queue.
I didn't use this facility, but apparently the local Indian restaurant will send a car to collect you and take you to their restaurant free of charge and bring you back - lovely touch.
We were so impressed that we are going back in August!

This is a lovely oasis in the middle of beautiful Warwickshire countryside.
Very welcoming warden who, as well as being a mine of information on local services and events e.T.C. Even gets your morning papers for you !
Shower rooms & WCs are spotless.
Lots of visitor information and book/magazine exchange.
Some lovely walks close by and chocolate box villages to explore.
Rugby, Coventry, Southam, Leamington & Warwick all within easy reach.
We will definitely be regular visitors to Lairhillock. We live about 10 miles down the road, but it feels like a million miles away.

My partner and I wanted a relaxing and peaceful weekend, as my first time camping my partner was anxious about the suitability. When we arrived we were greeted by a helpful and friendly warden, with clean shower and toilet facilities, we could not have asked for more.
The scenery was beautiful and the site nice and small offering a personal and private stay. I also got a marriage proposal too! so excellent stay and can not wait for my next camping expedition!

We were a large group (13 in total) with 5 tents and upon arriving the Warden greeted us and was a very friendly and helpful gentlemam. He pointed us in the direction of a group of pitches and we set about pitching our tents.
The facilities on site are more than adequate with a couple of showers and washing up /waste/ recycling facilities provided. People have mentioned it being near a road but honestly we did not notice this at all.
The local village of Marton has one of the Best Indian Resturants We have ever been to. When I booked the table for us I advised we were staying at Lairhillock Park and they arrange a minibus and car to come and collect us 15 minutes before our meal. The service was excellent and the staff could not have been friendlier. I would recommend if you are in a large group to get a menu from the wash room at the camp site and take a list of everyone's orders along with you. We did this and the Owner was very grateful and made sure we were well looked after for 'making his life easier!'
A Small car Journey south is a village called Long Itchington and again there is a lovely pub there call 'The Duck on the Pond' where we had a pub lunch on the sunday. Again food was great and service was excellent so well worth a visit.
Will definitely revisit both this resturant and also the site again in the future.

Visited this campsite for the weekend and what a little gem of a site it is. The wardens were lovely and friendly and gave us any advise we asked.
The site is quite away from the nearest pub (the black horse) but that wasn't a problem because if you book a table they will come and fetch you and bring you back whenever your ready ! will certainly be visiting again

The pitches are well laid out, with numerous electricity and water points. There is a modern chemical waste disposal, and grey water disposal.
The toilets are adequate and clean, as are the showers. The owner, Mrs Jean Elgar, is truly lovely, and the warden Geoff is so helpful. It is a child free site, so no noisy children. Dogs are welcome. The dog walk is about 60 miles long. This being a disused railway track, from which the scenery is beautiful.
The pub and indian restaurant is in easy walking distance, but if you ring the restaurant to pre book, they will pick you up from the site, and return you free of charge.
The village of long itchington is about 2 miles away with its canal side pub, and shops. There is some noise from the road, Not too loud, but what the heck!
To categorise this site, I would say that it is a compromise between a top notch caravan club site, and a superbly kept C.L
