 I liked this campsite. Very basic. It is situated near some farm buildings. There is plenty of space to pitch up, so you are not too near your neighbours.

The toilet block is clean as are the showers, which had plenty of hot water.

The cost for a two man tent for two adults was £10.

 This is a site with character! Rambling old farm buildings, and a big field for the caravans and tents. There is a dirt track between the two which was a bit puddly, and there were some ruts in the field, but show me a campsite without puddles and mud this summer and you'll be showing me somewhere which isn't really a campsite! There are quite a lot of stored caravans but you can't see them from the field.

The new loos near the field are jolly useful, it would have been a bit of a hike to loos at night otherwise. The washing facilities have been there a while, but all seems to work fine (didn't try the showers so can't comment) and were very clean. I liked the private cubicles.

I thought for £3.50 this is a great bargain and I hope to be back for longer next time, to explore what is a lovely area.
Management response: Please note that as of August 2014, new owners have taken over this site and they are completely renovating the campsite. Therefore please bear this in mind when reading any reviews from visits prior to this date. Below is a brief update from the new owners:

We are are renovating the site throughout, and planning many changes for the better:

We have already introduced heating to the shower block and look to now totally refurbish inside and out.

We are upgrading all the roads and added 29 new hardstandings.

We are putting FREE Wi-Fi on the site

Upgrading all the electrics to 16amp

Completed our cottages

Our office hours are 9-12 daily but we are usually around. We ask people just to leave a message.

We are open 365 days a year, have 90 pitches 75 ehu and an area for 10 tents

 Well its us again, as we came on the thursday night to set the tents up it bloody rained again, but by the time friday came the sun had got his hat on again. As we was a large party, it was a bit of a struggle to park all our cars around our tents. This was due to the busiest weekend I have seen here which let this camp down a bit. Everyone was just pitching everywhere and this did cause a bit of confusion whilst driving on and off camp (cars and guide ropes everywhere) but overall a good weekend with the occasional water fight to cool us down.
Finally the only problem we could find is with all the campers on site at the same time is the water in the showers was rather cold so my advice is 'if its busy, get up early for your shower'

 Good location near to Bridlington, Scarborough, Flamborough etc. Disappointing facilities, the existing toilet / shower block is very old, basic and communal. The owners have erected a new block, which is not yet fully finished, but, in my opinion, have missed an ideal opportunity by only installing toilets and no showers and washbasins, except for 1 basin with just a cold tap.
Also, on arrival, we were not given information on where to get water from with the result that some people were getting it from the elsan water sluice pipe!

 This is our second visit here, we found it very friendly and very basic but cant grumble for the price £3.50 pppn. Toilets are very clean but could do with a mirror in ladies toilets.
Can be a bit breezy due to opening fields from the sea, but if you have a few windbreakers its not a problem. The owner is very friendly and for a small fee she will re-freeze your ice packs (put your name on them)
Shops are local but a bit expensive, so better off going into town, ie Brid, which is only 20 mins drive away. This camp site could do with little more lighting at the entrance.
If you like a pint there are some pubs in flambourough, we will come again, might see us there in the middle you cant miss us .

 Agree with recent reviews below. Lovely site with basic facilities. The portacabin loos mentioned below are now replaced with a permanent toilet block with clean, modern toilets. Free showers had hot water each time we used them. Plug socket for hairdryer etc there was well.

10 minute walk over fields into Flamborough itself.

I'm fairly new to camping but as long as you're not after every facility going under the sun, this site will do nicely and for £3.50 pppn, who can complain?????

 This was a return visit from our first trip last year. Yes people stated it was basic. But wow improvement. Lets start from the very begining (in the words of the sound of music). New sign and entrance to The Grange And the welcoming sight of the roses and new toilet block. Ab fab! including the gravel path up to the 'new toilet block'
Look folks if you want rustic working farm set in its own micro climate with access to coast village life you have it! The site is clean, the showers hot all day! But the rose amongst the thorn here is the welcome you get from, and I must appologise for not asking is the lady whom owns this site she is a diamond, friendly, witty etc etc. It's family run and you can tell, ask the people who come back year after year.
So shower set in a rustic feature fields and fields around you and one hell of a mix of ages I love this site please visit. You may see us there!

 Used this campsite for the first time and agree with previous comments, it is a very basic campsite but clean, quiet and plentiful hot water for showering. As to the toilets I found the ones by the farmhouse more modern.
Had no problems finding the place as it is clearly signposted as you leave Flamborough village on the Bempton road. Prices have gone up to £3.50 per person.
This is a good campsite for walking ,if you turn left after the farmhouse it eventually leads to the coastal path to either Flamborough lighthouse or Bempton. The village is within easy walking distance and has four pubs, my favourite was Seabirds where I found the food to be of a high quality and with good real ales also.
For wildlife lovers there was an abundance of Tree Sparrows , Yellowhammers and the Tawny Owls were very noisy every night.

 Stayed 3 nights on the big grass field. The toilet was a porta cabin and it looked like it should have been on a building site.

Every time you put the telly and the kettle on together it blew the fuse. I was always having to go out and put the switch back up.

There was no lighting on our site and you needed a torch to go to toilet after dark.

Nice and quiet very well located for Town, Bemton, Thornwick Bay etc.

Lots of people staying on the site so they must like it.

 ~~~The Site~~~
Went for a 2 night stay after hearing about this site from someone at work.
Great prices, only £3.50 per adult per night, not bad considering Thornwick Bay wanted £14.25 per tent per night!
2 Showers and 3 wash stalls are near the house, along with sinks for your washing up, all kept clean and in good condition, just be aware of the showers being a but nippy with them being in part of a barn! Showers are worked by pulling a length of cord attached at the top, can be annoying, but at least they are clean.
Two better condition toilets are near the house and showers, cleaner and more welcoming than the ones near the camp field, we used these more if we weren't desperate.
The ones near the field were a portakabin, quite old, but they do the job. I believe there is a 'drain' next the these to empty your toilets, but there is a sign on reception asking you to enquire.
The are 2 fresh water points, both on the field, one on the way the portakabin toilets tucked under the conifers, so you may miss it as we did!
Large rubbish bins are on situated on the 'road' towards the farm house. Electric hookups available for caravans, but not tents. Hedges give some protection for tents, use them, the winds can be very strong! Can pay nightly, the owner didn't mind at all, as we weren't sure on the weather. Dogs allowed. No playground, but this is a working farm with tractors and machinery, fascinating, but dangerous so be careful with young kids.
~~~Flamborough~~~

Only a 10/15 min walk into the centre of Flamborough with convenience store, Co-op, pubs, Post Office, and other amenities.

Only 10/15 mins away by car to Bridlington, which has a larger range of shops including a Tesco, there is also a Somerfield situated on the road between Flamborough and Brid. Cheapest parking we found was at the South Beach, which was 70p an hour with a 10/15 walk into Brid, on the harbour it is 90p.

Flamborough has abus service, but cannot comment onit due to not having used it.

Beaches at North/South Landing, and you can drive up to the lighthouse on Flamborough Head (around a mile from Flamborough itself), where you have to pay to park. Tours up the current lighthouse are available on some days, and have heard this may be possible with the old one too.

Another place to visit nearby is Danes Dyke, just outside Flamborough,it is a large earthwork dyke with ravine and stream running through, nice walk through and down to beach. Free to go and walk, but you have to pay to park.
