We have just returned from another visit to this site - probably our 5th or 6th! Peaceful, beautifully kept and truly rural with a genuine village feel. Nearby pub is legendary and unique! In separate camping field (no hook-ups) there are now 2 wcs for campers or off gridders. Main site has usual facilities expected on a CS, own sanitation facilities expected, as is usual. Owner very anxious to maintain standards - and she does, by working hard to ensure guests are welcome and the site is kept well. Thoroughly recommend this site.

We stayed at Latchetts from Christmas Eve for three nights. There was only us and one other touring van. The site is absolutely lovely, so well kept and a lovely sized pitch. The owner is very pleasant indeed and very welcoming (without being over the top!). We will definitely be going back in the summer when we can really make the most of all the lovely walks and scenery. The local pub is great and within walking distance. We took our little dog with us and it is perfect as there are loads of walks.

Excellent place and surroundings. Owner very laid back and friendly. Chiddingly is a world away from the hustle and bustle and yet only a mile away from the main road. Each pitch is very large, our 34' RV was easily accommodated and they are private with a large grass surrounding. We will definitely be returning, maybe with our bikes as the roads are very quiet. I must mention the pub just 300 yards up the road, great atmosphere with live bands and friendly staff. We cannot recommend highly enough and full marks are easily deserved.

Stayed for a couple of days in October. Handy location for Eastbourne/ Brighton area as we wanted to visit Drusillas with the children (about 15 minutes away) and visit family in Brighton (about 40 minutes).
Good hardstandings with hookups, just as well as the grass area were very soggy and muddy, so the children couldn't roam too much, but more the fault of the weather. (7 year old wasn't impressed).
The owner was friendly and non-intrusive, ready with a wave in the mornings.
Hadn't noticed when booking that there wasn't any toilet/shower facilities, but luckily we have our own so wasn't major issue. Does make the fees seem a little steep though for this time of year.
Nice little site though, all said.

Management response: Thank you for the visit to the campsite and for your feedback. To confirm you were charged just £14 per night for your unit, 2 adults, 2 children, electric hookup and were placed on a hard standing pitch, which we and other guests feel is very reasonable. We look forward to welcoming you to our site again in the future |

We stayed here for 4 nights whilst visiting family in the area. Really nice site with large level pitches. Two separate areas, one for caravans/motorhomes and the other for tents. Jane (the owner) was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. Some good walks and a great dog friendly pub down the road which has live music at the weekend, serving excellent food at reasonable prices using local produce. Will definitely return!

A beautifully manicured, back to basics site. Perfect for a CL chill out.
We did a couple of nights midweek at very short notice. The owner couldn't have been more helpful.
There's a stunning local church and the site is easy walking distance from a good pub. You know you're in the country but you're not too far off the beaten track either. It doesn't get better than this!
Great country roads to cycle and our teenagers loved Knockhill Moutainboard Centre just 30 mins away.

Would recommend to friends
Would visit again
Liked: We stayed for a week and a day in early July, we would have stayed longer if there was availability, but with a fantastic site like this one it was fully booked for the following week, it has lovely views and the fields next to the site are where the owner keeps her horses. There are 5 hard standings for Caravans and Motorhomes, there is also an adjacent field which is used for tents, this has its own toilet block. There is a very good pub in the village which we ate at several times, I don't think I can think of anywhere that you can get a lovely meal for 2 with drinks for under £20, but you can at The 6 Bells in Chiddingly. We have booked to return in September.
Disliked: What is there to dislike ?, nothing, the owner runs a terrific site.

Fabulous quiet, picturesque site with 5 lovely spacious pitches with electric hook-up and lovely view of surrounding countryside. Hidden from nearby lane by a hedge.
We have returned here many times with our touring caravan since we discovered it 2 years ago.
The owner is lovely, friendly and chatty and always keeps the site very neat and tidy. A heavy duty metal gate is kept closed at all times, only opened when someone is going in or out, so it feels secure at all times. Easy access to fresh water tap, easy disposal of waste water and toilet waste. There are recycling boxes next to the bins (great as most people love to recycle rather than bin cardboard, glass & plastic).
A beautiful area (separate from caravan/motorhome area) has recently been developed for campers with tents and it has two lovely new toilets.
There is a great pub a short walk away that does lovely home-cooked food.
All in all we love this site and would highly recommend it!

Our first visit to this picturesque. Quite, well laid out, clean site. What a fantastic discovery. A great base to explore the South Downs, Brighton, and many other great places in Sussex.
Water, chemical waste and bins for recycling are all close by and site is secured by a large metal gate which is kept closed at all times.
Jane the owner couldn't have been more friendly or helpful and made us feel so welcome. She made our stay in the area so much more enjoyable by giving us lots of local information and places to visit.
For campers, (tents)Jane has recently opened a lovely new field with a 2 toilets.
The local pub was only a few minutes walk away and served great value home cooked food and had a great atmosphere. Different types of live music several times a week, but not in the main bars, so you could choose whether to go and listen.
We will certainly be going back there and highly recommend it.

Been here a few times and cant beat Jane the owners friendliness, the site is all hard standing with lovely views and horses wandering around the field.
the 2 pubs near by are nice with good food but we continue to keep coming back here as Jane is so friendly.
This is what a CS should be, we don't need the facilities some provide that why they are put in caravans and motorhomes although I understand some people like these.
