We're looking forward to returning to this site!
When you book in you are allocated a pitch. Each pitch is reasonably sized. They state they don't accept tents over 4 berth but after giving the dimensions of our vango tigris 600 we were accepted as it fit in within the pitch.
A nice clean shower/toilet/dishwashing building is right next to the camping area.
Although others have mentioned road noise we hardly noticed any noise from it.
One major bonus was that we never felt 'ripped -off' with any of the prices within the site. The Bar was VERY reasonable .Bingo is on most nights .There was entertainment on on the Saturday night (not great but free so can't complain).
The pool (free to use) although small was a favourite with our kids.
£1 for a sauna was well worth it. The small games room has air hockey,2 pool tables and various arcades.Fishing is also available on the site but I didn't check the prices.
The one issue we had with the site is that it badly needs a proper play area for the kids. There is a small playpark at the camping area but there was nowhere for my daughter to ride her bike or for kicking a ball about etc.
If the play area problem could be sorted then I would give this site a 10/10 as it covers so many bases.
There is a shop onsite but morrisons/aldi's are 2 minutes drive away. The large beach at St Andrews is also only minutes away.
Overall we had a great weekend here and really look forward to returning.

This is a cracking site, not one to miss, well looked after clean & tidy. The bar on site has bingo Mon - Fri & entertainment on a Saturday, the prices are extremely good for a caravan site. The pool is small but adequate, and the best thing its free, there is a sauna, with a small charge of £1. Small walk to town and plenty of pubs and eateries as you can imagine for St Andrews. We will certainly going back to this site in the future

Were here for 2 nights. The pitch we had was a hardstanding and there was plenty of room. Toilet block was clean. Dishwashing area was clean but the water was not very hot. There is a pool on site which is enough size for my little boy to swim in and you can sit and watch at the pool. There's is a bar (drinks not expensive) on site and a games room. Playparks dotted all about. Not far from Morrisons and a few minutes drive from St Andrews town centre. We went to the secret bunker which was very interesting. Also plenty choice of restaurants in StAndrews, we went to one called The Rule very nice 2 courses for 7.50 very good value. Kids menu good choice also. Also a chippie just past Morrisons and plenty more choice of takeaways in St Andrews I also noticed. And well of course there is the beach, which we didn't go onto as it was very windy and cold that day.

As a novice found the hard standing a little tight but got there eventually. The little pool was lovely and quiet mid pm. Regular buses came on time. Facilities very clean with nice hot showers. Staff friendly. More for families than couples I would say- no chance of game of pool couple of families had laid claim for the evening and kids where there till late. How about a table in the actual bar?
That said a very pleasant site and we just headed into town where there are plenty of pubs and restaurants. St Andrews is a lovely town.

Spent 2 nights here (Friday/Saturday) with my wee 9 year old daughter. The pitches are well marked out and spacious, plenty of room for even the most show offy of tents :-)) On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful and our pitch was in a relatively flat field near main road. I agree with lorna b in that I never noticed the traffic noise at all. On the first night after settling in, we took a stroll to Morrison's to get some supplies, this was a 10-15 minute walk, very handy and the store is open 'till 9 PM. The field we were on was quite empty on the Friday night but by Saturday evening it was chocka block, a lot of kids riding about on bikes, kicking footballs etc. I'm not complaining about that, it's a family site after all and I quite enjoy a bit of activity, but if you're looking for peace and quiet you may wish to consider this. The toilet facilities were clean and easily accessible, and the showers were ok but you do need to be quick!
The facilities are also good, nice bar with a bit of kareoke (how do you spell that?) if you like all that, and the games room actually has games that work! The bar staff deserve a mention for their patience and friendliness despite being run off their feet. Didn't visit the pool but it looked ok from outside.
St Andrews itself is an amazing town, steeped in history and has some fantastic shops, I recommend taking a wee seat in the Abbey with a fish supper and a can of Irn Bru! The last time I was in the town, there was a sea life centre now it's changed to St Andrew's aquarium which I found disappointing and not very good value for money but hey, it's up tae yersel as we say in Scotland.
So in summation I would say this is a very well organised and good value-for-money park well worth a visit.

Have just returned from 2 nights here and wish we could have stayed longer. It's a lovely friendly, relaxed family site with 4 playground areas for several age ranges, indoor swimming pool, plenty of clean modern toilets and showers, and it's close to St Andrews / shops. We had a good walk round the site itself (trying out the different play areas) and a gated path leads down to the riverside where you can feed the ducks and swans, or go fishing. Even spotted a little bunkhouse contained within one of the amenity blocks.
To address some points made in previous reviews: yes, the site is also close to a road, but we were only 4(empty) pitches in from the roadside and weren't bothered by the noise at all; and yes, they could do with extending the length of time the shower stays on once you've pressed the button, but there is no limit to the amount of times you can press it, the water pressure is good and the water is hot!
We drove down to the nearby Morrisons because the pavement alongside the road was a little narrow for prams and pre-schoolers. The beach at St Andrews is spectacular and barely 10 minutes away in the car.
A very good spot for a relaxing weekend with the kids - we're already planning a return trip with other caravanning friends.

We booked here for 3 nights with our 2 dogs, but ended up only staying for 1 night. The plus side is that the site is close to St Andrews with a regular bus service, and Morrisons nearby. The on-site shop is handy, as was the swimming pool. The biggest downside was that the site is right next to a very busy and noisy road - not very relaxing! Without going near the busy road there is nowhere safe to walk dogs, although to be fair once across the road there was a nice loop walk up towards the nearby farm which a local lady told me about (I asked at reception on the site, but the girl there couldn't advise). As we had all our toilet and showering facilities in our motorhome there was no need for us to use the park facilities, so I can't comment on them. The pitches were very close together, so not much privacy. The swimming pool is ok, but quite tired in my opinion. The bar/restaurant was ok, but no-where apart from one table outside in the shade (probably put there for smokers) to sit - not good for dog owners. I see that someone else mentions the well maintained gardens, but I didn't think that aspect of the site was particularly good - they could do with establishing a very thick hedge between the road and the park to try and block out road noise. There is a thin hedge and trees there, but nothing spectacular.

Myself my partner and our 12 year old daughter had the pleasure of this site for a fantastic but unfortunately very windy long weekend in May. The site has everything one would require, heated swimming pool ( free) sauna, bar area, children's arcade,a small store which stocks all ones basic needs. Morrison's the supermarket chain is literary five minutes from the site and St Andrews town centre is only 10. The shower blocks are well heated and clean, the only complaint here is the timer mechanism in the shower cubicle is extremely short. The entire weekend was extremely enjoyable, the only thing that spoilt it was the wind which I am afraid the staff have no control over.

We decided to chance a late-season getaway at Cairnsmill so we could do the tourist thing in St Andrews. The park was close to empty (including staff), but we were placed on a rather muddy pitch in a shallow hollow just outwith the lea of a large hedge (which would have provided some much-needed shelter). As the weekend passed, the wind and the rain caused the pitch to turn into a quagmire, which rather spoiled things and the car struggled to get the caravan out of the mud at the end. On the face of it, the facilities looked good - shop, swimming pool, games room, heated toilet blocks etc. The shop provided the essentials and the toilet blocks were clean (and empty), so no complaints there. The swimming pool was also empty, which was great for the kids (and me!). However, the water was not particularly warm and the changing rooms were freezing, which made getting dressed an interesting experience. The games room is accessed through a lounge and both share a bar. Everything was open despite the fact that there were so few people. The kids and I were disappointed that several of the machines in the games room were broken and both pool tables were in an unplayable state. I can only hope that this will be rectified for the new season. All in all, Cairnsmill is a nice wee site with decent facilities and we definitely benefited from the fact that it was empty. I'm not sure what it's like when it's busy though. Our experience with the pitch with rather off-putting too.

Just got back from spending a week at this site-had a lovely time -great facilities, very helpful staff and good weather too! Lots to see and do in the area. Big Morrisons supermarket just down the road. Bus stops outside the gate- beautifully kept grounds - very friendly locals. Would certainly re-commend this site and would also return to it!
