Lovely site, great for kids and facilities regularly cleaned. Charging policy supports the "mean scots" stereotype with 50p an hour if you want to stay after 11.30 am and charging an awning rate for a small fibreglass pole awning. Better if they just charged 20 pound a night, it looks better and it is worth it. Doesn't have a shop but a shop keeper comes in the morning in his car, will deliver to you van! papers, milk, rolls eggs (I got two double yolks in one box!) etc. Also shops two minutes along the road, and a couple of pubs. 10 minutes walk into Callander or bus stop close by. Would recommend.

Toilet blocks & showers spotless. The park is within walking distance to Callander. There is a separate area for playing ball games and the park is good, part of it is under a shelter. You can also walk down to the river. You can arrive after 2pm but have to be off for 11.30am which is quite early . You can pay extra if you want to stay longer, which I thought was a bit much considering it already cost 18.00 a night. There is not a shop on site but 2 mins walk there is a Spar shop on the right-hand side. On a sat / sun morning there was a guy came around at 9am in a van / car selling newspapers, milk, butter, rolls.

We liked this site - good facilities but no shop - you can walk to the spar easily. You can bike down the cycle track to Callender which has a great toy museum - the track is past the terminal moraine - cross the road and go back on yourself when you come to a layby a little further on - that's the track. The site has lots of pine trees and the fishing is lovely - didn't catch anything though. No tents allowed - all felt very steriley clean - they probably wouldn't have liked the fact that tents might have made it look untidy! (I don't think this I hasten to add!).

Lovely well kept campsite, very welcoming . BUT no ground sheets of any kind allowed in awning,no vans allowed or commercial vehicles, which isn't so good as we use my husband 4x4 vehicle to tow with, but as we booked they let us on. No tents allowed , and no ball games after 9 pm not so good in the nice weather nice but very strict rules

As a regular visitor to this site along with our 2 boxer dogs we have always found it an ideal location for all the local tourist attractions and places of interest. It is always busy during the summer season and booking is recommended. The site facilities are very good and the toilet/shower blocks are spotlessly clean with the children's play area positioned well away from the main pitched areas for those who don't have kids. Although the site site does not boast a shop for provisions etc. It is only a 5-10 minute walk away from Calander where their are plenty of stores available. We have always found the people to be very friendly and regularly meet up with them and enjoy a drink or two. The dogs love the stretch of river which is situated at the bottom of the site which is never really fast flowing or deep during the summer months. Well worth a visit.

This a great site plenty of room and the facilities are very good. It was busy when we landed and we found it very quiet. The family's where mainly at the bottom end of the site One gripe is that the wardens although very nice where not over helpful, I say this because the site is so big and when we arrived it was nearly full we had to find a spot ourselves, it would have been helpful if they had shown us where to go. But would definitely use this site again when in that area.

Right in the middle of everything! A short walk and you could be walking up mountains or shopping in the town of Callendar. If you do visit you can expect a friendly and organised welcome. *Consider the sun when choosing your pitch* The trees to the right create shade from early afternoon onwards. The facilities are fantastic plenty of showers etc for everyone. There is a mobile shop on weekend mornings that comes in very useful. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended our booking an extra 3 day. Late check outs are also available. Only a couple of down points– Only glass recycling is available but this is hardly something that would put you off.– No pub. There is one over the road but for the amount of guests I’m really surprised there isn’t a pub or restaurant onsite.

July 2005 This site was busy when we stayed but we opted for the quieter side, away from the family area with the play park and space for ball games so we felt it was quite peaceful. Toilet blocks clean though showers a bit hot, my kids would have squealed! Beautiful situation within minutes (in the car) of Callander which is a bustling wee town with touristy type shops, Co-Op and a Tesco. Would go back again as its an ideal base for exploring the Trossachs.

July 2004 We arrived on a Friday and it was busy. The lady on reception was not over friendly!!!. The pitches are close together. The site won best site in Britain 2003, but I struggled to understand why??? The toilets are ok, clean enough, but every thing felt very commercial, we tend to like smaller, personal sites. I am surprised it didn't have a club house!. After the weekend the site became much less busy, there was more space, so we began to enjoy it more. The site does have a nice river, and a dog walk (although no dog bins). It is an ideal base to tour the Trossachs though!

September 2003 Very well laid out and maintained. This is a quiet site with a super toilet block and a good kiddies play area. This site is beside the river with free fishing - didn't detect any fish at that bit but maybe just me.
It was as mentioned very good but felt at that time of year £15 for a night was a trifle too much.
