To find site:- From both directions on N175/176 exit into town of Pontorson and the campsite is well signed from all directions.
This is an exceptionally popular campsite with all nationalities which I am sure is in no small part due to the very friendly reception you get on arrival from the people that run the site. As an example when we arrived we were told to go and find a pitch, settle in, and come back later when we were ready to sign in. There are around 120 pitches for touring units most with a generous 16amp electric supply. All of a good size but some, near to the mobile homes, are really large and also have the advantage of having their own water/waste/ electric supplies and it would seem at no extra charge in the low season. The building that houses the Reception also contains a bar with a terrace overlooking a very nice heated swimming pool. There are numerous facilities for children of all ages. Behind reception is the site toilet block which is of a high standard with WC's on the outside of the building and a unisex shower section in the centre of the block. To the other side is the laundry and dishwash facilities. Bread can be ordered at reception for the following day. Apart from bread and ice cream there is no shop on site. Likewise there is no restaurant although they do serve breakfast in the bar and on three nights a week a travelling takeaway van visits the campsite. An added bonus for this site is the free WiFi connection which can be accessed from most pitches. Camping Cheques accepted. Date of our visit late August 2007.
The town centre of Pontorson is only a few minutes walk from the site. On Wednesdays there is a popular Market held, located between the Church and the Hotel de Ville. Just a little further away is a Champion Supermarket which also sells fuel. There are many excursions possible from this campsite with the most obvious being Mont St Michel which is just over five miles away.
Twin Axle Caravans:- The official policy of the campsite is that they don't accept them but they are willing to consider them by prior arrangement. One reason mentioned to me was that quite a few of the pitches can't accommodate vans of this size so it makes it difficult in the main season if someone arrives on spec. The advice is to always telephone the site in advance (everyone speaks excellent English) if you are thinking of taking a twin axle van to this campsite. It would also be useful if you mention that you want to use Camping Cheques or at least have a Camping Carnet.

A spacious well kept site with good sized pitches for vans/tents with just a few statics. Most pitches were level and private being screened by good hedges but some of the service roads were a bit tight for large outfits. All the facilities are in one area near reception an you will find excellent toilets/showers and washing up and laundry facilities. Next to the reception is a small swimming pool with a few sun loungers also a sauna which is quite small so has to be booked and is chargeable. At the back of the reception building there is a small bar which doubles as a breakfast room on a morning. A nice touch this. There are also internet facilities here. Although just on the edge of town I found the site very quiet. The town centre is just ordinary but has everything you need. A footpath/cycle track runs in the other direction along the river to Mont St. Michel. The site is easy to find from all approaches to the town. Just follow the signs. This site was very busy at the time of our visit so If just turning up I would recommend you don't leave it late.

Stayed here at the start of May and had a great stay. The pitches are a good size nearly all with electric hook ups. The pitches had tall hedges surrounding them which provided great shelter from the winds we had suffered on a previous campsite! The showers and sinks were in a heated block and were kept very clean at all times. Toilets were also spotless clean and there was plenty of toilet paper too! There were good facilities for children, a swimming pool which was outdoors but heated, a sauna and a bar. There was also a little petting area with goats, rabbits, ponys etc. The campsite was alongside the river 9km to Mont Saint Micheal and bike hire was available. Also the site was only a 5 minute walk into the town which had shops bars and restaurant's. Would go back if visiting that area of France.
