A wonderful level site with brand new facilities. Warden is on site about 11am and back again in mid afternoon. Toilets, double size shower, washing up room with a fridge, kettle, EH and Grey waste point. No toilet waste. There is also a snack wagon but was not open when we were there. You are within easy reach of magnificent beaches with white sand and loads of tiny little shells, large sand dunes. Site warden was very friendly, would stay again. £15 per night for 2 adults and MH with EH.

First of all: We had free Wifi! Great to go into the wilderness and connect the world.
The place is quite small and directly next to the Balranald Nature Reservoir.
The small facility rooms were clean and newlooking. There is a washing machine and a dryer(?) and a small kitchen area.
The staff was very kind and helpful and gave lots of informations.
No shop nearby. 2 very nice beaches with sands close to the campsite.
Highest recommendation for people who are looking for silence. No partying. Ah! Important to mention: The Corncrakes are very noisy in the night. But for such a rare bird acceptable!

Wonderful location with superb facilities and just about every camping need catered for. The home made cakes sold at the snack van were delicious. Owners were helpful & welcoming & genuinely keen to ensure all campers had everything they needed. Price including electric seemed good value for money and so fully understand the extra charge for showers - they are great. Our first stroll over the sand dunes took our breath away - the beach was stunning & the sea so clear. A true gem of a site and well worth travelling to.

Great site in a really good location. Yes, you don't have a direct view of the beach (it's about 50m away over a small dune) but there are really good views of the surrounding countryside and hills.
The beach is beautiful and can be accessed directly from the site - gently shelving and in a large sheltered bay - safe and ideal for kids. We're not birdspotters but the RSPB reserve was an excellent experience. There is a waymarked walk around the headland where you'll see all sorts of varieties, plus some great views out to the Monach Islands.
Toilet block and shower block were very clean. Only gripe was that showers were extra - in our mind this should really be in the fee. That said, the wifi was free, which is something we'd normally expect to pay for (and was a boon given the absence of 3G throughout the Western Isles!) No CDP available so you'll need to empty at the ferry terminal.
With a CDP and free showers the site would be perfect, but we'd still highly recommend it bearing this in mind and would visit again.

A really good site with the added benefit of WiFi, which given the lack of 3G in the area is a real plus. Great recently constructed facilities and the RSPB reserve on the doorstep make this a must visit site for bird watchers. I spent 3 happy days here taking hundreds of photos and walking through the machair and dunes. The smoked salmon and sea trout from the local smokehouse are wonderful.
I certainly did not regard the cost as being unreasonable.

This is the third time I have visited here. September was too late weather-wise last year but May and June this year were good. I love it here!
The RSPB puts on guided walks around the bay and headland with the Warden which are fascinating. Nothing is ordinary here, almost every bird is something only seen in bird books when you live in southern England. There are Otter and Eagle Walks within 20 miles too. I could hear the Corncrakes but didn't manage to see one.
The bay is wide and shallow so would be safe for children.
Free WiFi is good and my 3G dongle got a good signal from the mast on the hill opposite too. There is a drying line already and a washing machine may well be added, the owners are very helpful and this is a new site which will build up amenities when they see if their considerable investment is paying off. The snack van offers superb food with fresh local fish and home cooked cakes. Open 10 to 3. Well worth using for lunch.
The Hebridean Smokehouse is a must for fresh and frozen local fish. They have a postal service too which friends on the receiving end appreciated!
The CDP at Lochmaddy is gross (no water there) but the one at Berneray Ferry is excellent and the trip out there well worth it. Have a look at the north and west coast beaches (especially the west where you walk through the sand dunes to get there) they are stunning.

I spent four nights here, I was warmly welcomed by the owner. Lovely well drained, and level, toilet and shower block is new but is cleaned and maintained to a very high standard. Washing up area very clean, plenty of information on the area. Spoiled myself by using the electric kettle. Showers are fantastic, another bonus is the snack bar, staff very polite and efficient. I recommend the bacon rolls and coffee lovely. The site is remote and not a lot separates the site from the mighty Atlantic and does get a bit draughty. I would like to thank all the campers who offered assistance when I was down sizeing my tent on rather a draughty Sunday. Took lots of photos lest I forget my visit many thanks. I will return

A very windy campsite but in a great location for exploring the beaches of N Uist. The site is adjacent to the Balranald Nature Reserve and there is a lovely walk through the reserve direct from the campsite. Although there are no sea views there are lovely beaches 2 minutes and 10 minutes walk away.
Clean, quite new toilet and shower block and a small kitchen with 2 washing up sinks. Showers need a one pound coin but it lasts for plenty of time and the water is nice and hot. Washing line for drying clothes but no washing machine or dryer.
Friendly owner – if you arrive and they are not around you can choose a pitch and they visit every day at about 8. 30pm to collect fees, etc.
Free Wi-Fi which we could access from our pitch.
No CDP – nearest is at the Berneray ferry port.
Sollas up the road to the north (about 5 miles?) has a Co-Op and a community hall serving teas and snacks in the afternoon.

Spent 2 nights on this site on 1st and 2nd June. It is a lovely site with very friendly and helpful owner. Toilets and showers are first class. Beautiful countryside views and very short walk to superb beach. Wifi was improved while we were on site and we were able to go on line in our van at the far end of the site. Excellent. The only site we were actually able to use the supplied wifi. The owner also runs a food van for bird watchers, campers alike and the menu looked excellent. The only downside we found was the lack of laundry facilities - a washing machine and drying line would be great and also there is no CWD although this is available at Ferry port on Berneray which is not too far away. I would certainly recommend this site with level hardstandings and good camping area.

Really nice setting and within a 10 min walk you can be on the RSPB reserve nature trail. We didn't have much time, so tried to do it on our mountain bikes. But ended up having to carry the bikes are fair bit over boulder-fields, so wouldn't recommend doing it by bike! Fab trail though, a must-do.
I felt £20 a night plus £1 for a shower was very steep though, especially given no waste disposal. My wife said it was an excellent shower though!
