Stayed in this site for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. Great little site with friendly & helpful staff. Good, clean facilities that were looked after well and therefore you had the feeling that all the campers were happy to respect them as such.
Lynton/Lynmouth are lovely places and we enjoyed loads of really nice walking, right on the door step of the site. You would be hard pressed to find a small site in such a great location in this area.
The pub next to the site seemed ok but the food was a little unadventurous and basic, stick with the bbq I would.
Would definitely go back again if we go back this way again.

We only spent a couple of nights here after 2 weeks in Dorset and Cornwall and regretted not having booked longer at this site - situated in a valley right next to the river, it is the prettiest campsite we have stayed on. All the facilities were clean and well kept. The owner and staff were all very helpful. Next door to an excellent pub, with good beer, cider and food. Wonderful walks to Lynton, Watersmeet etc and drives to exmoor to see the ponies and to the Valley of the Rocks - we will definitely be going back.

Absolutely superb little site! Staff wonderful, facilities excellent. Good shop on site and lovely cafe for very cheap breakfasts, at the price they give stuff away at it's debatable whether or not to buy anything. Great pub next door with good food and beer at good prices. Best of all, you can walk to Lynton in about 10 minutes, then walk down into Lynmouth in another 15 and Cliff Railway up again. You can more or less abandon your car on site and walk everywhere from there. If you've not been to this part of Devon before, then be prepared to be amazed, check your car/van/truck/cycle brakes before hand. If you've never driven down a 1 in 4, it's better than Alton Towers! Cannot recommend this site enough, it deserves support!

Just returned from a week at this lovely little site. Although getting onto the site with a caravan is not the easiest of things to do, ( you have to go past the site down to a car park and turn round). It is well worth it. The site is outstanding. The facilities were always clean and tidy, with a well equipt laundry room and loads of space for washing up. They offer breakfasts at the cafe on site and they appeared to be very popular. They have a small shop which stocks all the essentials, but the best thing has to be the staff. They were always so friendly and so accomodating and willing to help us in any way they could. The site itself is very picturesque. Set next to a beautiful river, with immediate access to publc footpaths which take you on a beautiful woody walk into nearby lynmouth, where there are shops and numerous pubs and places to eat and lots to see and do. There is also a pub just next to the site which offers food at quite reasonable prices. This is a lovely little site. I well recommend a stay here as you will not be disapointed. I will definitely be going back.

Absolutely lovely campsite in a beautiful location. I almost don't want to say too much (best kept secrets and all that). We were worried on the way there as we got delayed and it says in the terms that if you don't arrive by 7pm you may loose your booking. We turned up at 8pm very apologetically to be greeted by hey that's o.k, were usually open until 9pm! The site is small & open, no hedged in pitches, which is perfect for me. The little stream is delightful & there is a nice pub within falling distance of the site. Lynton & Lynmouth are breath ta-kingly picturesque, I will definitely be returning to Sunny Lyn

What a peaceful site. We have been twice in high season and low season, both times have been wonderful in this very peaceful part of Devon. The site and its amenities are spotless the owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming. There is nothing better than spending the evening sitting outside the tent by the river with a nice wine and good company spotting the various different birds hunting on the waters surface and waiting for the bats to arrive...Idyllic. Must mention the breakfast..its great, we always drive down overnight and arrive just in time for the breakfast served in the cafe.. its worth the wait to get on your pitch and you miss all the snarl ups on the M5 !

August 2004 A small but beautiful site which is very well run by friendly and efficient staff. River runs throught the site and depending on your point of view, the noise of the water is theraputic or mildly distracting. Would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Small shop. Also a cafe that does a lovely breakfast. If you want to get away from it, you can't go wrong.

2004 This is one of my favorite small sites, the area has so much to see. For example: Watersmeet, valley of Rocks, Woody Bay (The drive from the Valley of Rocks to Woody bay is a must, if a little hair raising. Nice to walk too, with a little tea room by the 50p toll for cars. Porlock and Dunster are not too far either.

February 2004 This site offers caravans with views up-river, log cabins with central heating, camping and heated apartments. We have stayed in all these but the apartments. It is a wonderful site, with friendly owners, a rushing stream and a very close cosy pub. This is our favourite tranquil haven for getting away from it all. Park up your car and leave it, you can walk up to Lynton or down to Lynmouth in no time and the river walk along to Watersmeet is a must (if only for the home-made veg soup and cakes!).
