Big site and will be booked out throughout the summer. Stunning views over the firth of forth.
Very windy when we were there, and exposed to the elements as you are on top of a hill. Best Steak house in town is on the main street, 'The Grange' served the best fillet steak I have ever tasted.
Local pubs good and locals very friendly. Will be spending a few more nights on this site this year.

First outing for us in our new tent, Wynnster Buzzard 4. North Berwick is only just over an hours drive for us and the weather forecast was good so off we went.
We pitched down at the bottom of the camping field nicely screened by trees. Site was very busy but we didn't feel like we were on top of each other.
Toilet block was clean but could do with a bit of sprucing up.
We had a lovely weekend here and would definitely go back.

What a beautiful place to visit and this campsite is the perfect base to visit it from. A clean, tidy campsite with all the features needed for a week camping. It has a family atmosphere where children and families were made welcome but respect and common sense expected i. E. Reasonable curfew and noise levels around 9:00pm most families were quiet and respectful of others with younger families. They have freezer facility for ice packs and a small games room and play area.
The walk from the campsite to beach and town is across a golf course and well signposted although not for the feint hearted as it has a 'few' steps down! The view is breath taking over North Berwick and when into the town plenty to do. We made use of the train station to take a trip to Edinburgh and the zoo but with the various shops, cafes, beach, bird centre and boat trips to the law you needn't venture out of North Berwick!

Our first outing with a caravan!
We arrived late and I checked on my mobile and we were told to make a home for ourselves and come & pay in the morning. I had previously emailed to book & was told to just turn up so after perusing the site carefully we found a big enough space to attempt to reverse and set to. A lovely couple popped out to chat & Colin helped my DH whilst his OH helped me toilet my dogs. We chatted about the site & she explained about the toilets (cleaning etc) and together they made us feel really welcome.
Our ptch turned out to have fantastic views and our wee awning went up a dream. We had a later night than usual with our BBQ and slept on until almost 11am.
We took our rubbish up after whilst visiting the spotless toilets/showers and found lots of bins but no separation for a 'blue bin'. Elsan was straightforward. We went to pay for our pitch and was told if we hadn't already booked we would have been turned away as so busy. Despite this we were without a neighbour for the following night.
North Berwick was a nice walk away right along the beach. We loved both and were sorry we hadn't found this gem so close to home when our children were younger. We enjoyed lunch in a beer garden where our westies were welcomed with iced water.
A visit to the nearby golf club was also enjoyed over the weekend. My goodness. Our welcome was fantastic and it was so smart! I was glad I had parted with my shorts and we enjoyed a couple of drinks before returning to a new wee home.
We will be back!

Very good pitch area large, good level grass area and able to pitch where ever. 2 x ad and 2 ch in 6 man tent cost £27.00 which I thought pricey for site. Every one seemed to be spaced out enough to allow a good area between tents. Toilets are plentiful with two showers in each block constant hot water and free that's the good points bad points shower screen stuck to you as the shower area so small and drying area very small. No plugs for personnel hairdryers. Sink area not very clean. Now I am a fussy camper and would not survive in the wild so take my comments as you will. Childrens play area very good and kept my 2 (10 & 11) amused. Area perfect to explore Berwick and Tantallon caste well worth a visit as is Dunbar. Staff on reception very friendly and helpful 10/10 for the girl on the desk.

We booked 2 pitches well in advance and paid our deposits. On our arrival the office was closed and our chosen pitches were occupied however we managed to get another 2 spaces together but unfortunately without the views so were a bit dissapointed. However we still had a lovely holiday at this site, we stayed for 3 nights the boys aged 11 & 13 found plenty to keep them occupied. The play park catered for their age group too and they played pool in the games room. Toilets were good & modern and always spotless despite only 3 toilets for the size of the site never had to wait. The views from the site are amazing the lovely beach is a short walk away. We plan to go back for a week in July.

Nice & clean facilites, which are cleaned daily, with level grass pitches which are sheldered by trees. A short walk through the golf course, for stunning views of the forth. The only slight negative is it is close to the road, but this is has a small fence, with grass embankment & trees. The local tesco is only 1/2 a mile away. I will definitly be visiting again.

I have been coming to North Berwick for over 30 years, it is a gorgeous town with glorious beaches. Some lovely shops in and around North Berwick, it is also well positioned for train trips to Edinburgh, a visit to the Zoo is definitely recommended and a trip on the Sula II around the Bass rock is a must.
We usually rent a beach front holiday flat earlier in the summer, but fancied an extra trip up to North Berwick so opted to stay at the tantallon.
Security problems: The first night we were here the neighbouring caravan (unoccupied, seasonal pitch) was broken into and TV etc was stolen. When I gave the police my statement I found out that this had happened numerous times over the season on this site. The cctv doesn't cover most of the caravan field so the offenders were not detected.
Although cleaners were seen going into the toilet blocks daily, I still went out and bought a pair of flip-flops to shower in as the showers do not look clean at all - black grime and mould that looks years old around the shower and bottom of tiles etc, and rotten goodeness-knows-what on the underside of the plastic shower mats that didn't look like they had ever seen a cleaning cloth (I wasn't inspecting - you have to pick them up and hang on a hook when finished!)
Gripes out of the way, the site is well positioned with the beach only a short walk away (either through the golf course or down lots of steps so be aware this way is not buggy friendly) with fantastic views from some pitches. A lovely play park for the children, a games room, laundry, a well stocked shop for essentials and little pitch and put green all part of the facilities. Really close to a large tesco so ideal for stocking up.

In previous visits we were delighted with this campsite, but it changed ownership a couple of years ago and seems to have deteriorated a lot since then, whilst the prices have increased dramatically. Now, besides being expensive for what you get, at £19 a night for 2 adults and a modest tent, we thought the facilities needed a serious upgrade. Broken toilet door locks, broken hairdryer, two showers not working, tepid water in both shower and washing up sinks. Not good enough!

Great camp site but at the time it was very muddy so I would say that if the weather is great, then the field would have looked a bit more attractive. They would have been better having designated pitches as the grass was being eaten up by the cars driving on it. The toilet block was OK; but didn't feel there was enough showers for everyone to use. Tip: If you go to the end of the site where the tents are pitched there is a road that takes you into a residential area. There is then a little jitty down the side which will take you right down to the beach and avoid the wannabe golfers! Another Tip: Watch out for a black and white cat (honestly)! It got into our tent, sat on our white towels (NOTE THE RAIN MENTIONED) and ate our pudding whilst we were at the beach! We joked about it and told reception, and were informed that it regularly wanders from the housing estate and is used to being fed by the campers! NB: There was a Tesco that had just opened up a week earlier (literally a walk down the road) so you don't need to take EVERYTHING. Maybe stock up whilst you're there it is big enough??????? The staff were pleasant enough and gave us the choice of pitches due to the weather. Children are well catered for with a park and indoor games room. We didn't use the showers so don't know what they're like. For a five star I would have thought they would have had a pub onsite? It was big enough to be used? All in all, good place but not sure if would go back as thought it was a little overpriced for the facilities on offer.
