When we arrived there was no warden on duty and they didn't turn up until about 9pm a sign on the door indicated which pitches were available and we were easily able to take care of ourselves, only problem was the loo's/showers have an entry code number so it was only when a kind soul took pity on us and gave us the code we could have a wee !
Apart from that blip we would highly recommend this site for peace and long walks in the woods. Our dogs were exhausted by the time we left !
Lots of rabbits, deer and squirrels kept us happy watching in the early morning and around dusk.
Loo's/showers could have been cleaner but the wardens don't seem to be on site much perhaps that is just because we are at the end of the season ?

Grassy site set in woodland. Excellent shower facilities and site security. Good for exploring local area. Could benefit by having a play area for the kids and can be a bit noisy from the nearby road Site can be difficult to find by sat nav. Some pitches uneven but blocks available with help from friendly site staff. On site shop handy for essentials.

We stayed at this site for a couple of nights in June. On arrival we were met by the site managers who were very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. Our pitch was of good size; giving us enough room for our 6 berth tent, kitchen tent, trailer and car. There was plenty of space for tents but on this particular weekend the site was mainly occupied by caravans and motor homes. EHU is available on some of the grass pitches but we did not request this facility. The toilet and shower block was kept immaculately clean. A combination lock is used to ensure only campers use the facilities. As fish and chip van visits the site each Saturday night. We noticed a number of campers waiting for this but on this occasion it became clear that for some reason the van was not going to turn up. However we were really impressed as about 30 minutes later a member of staff came back on site having collected fish and chips in their car! We visited Cannock Chase with our two young children. There was no play area at the site and no ball games were allowed; but this wasn't really a problem for a weekend trip. They enjoyed walking on the chase. We also visited the Cannock Chase Museum which was interesting.

We stayed here for a weekend in May and had a fabulous time. The pitches seemed well spaced giving a lovely relaxed feel to the site. The toilet blocks were clean and the standard you would expect from the Camping & Caravan Club. The site wardens were friendly and helpful. The surrounding area is excellent for walking and mountain biking. The only downside, if any, was perhaps the need for a play area, possibly something rustic in keeping with the area, however our children still had a great time. The other thing is that we tried to book another weekend here but the site is extremely popular so you may need to book way in advance to get in. Overall, an excellent site and we will defintely return.

Great site, clean and well kept. Site managers were very helpful and friendly. Downfalls were the road right next to the site which cars went up and down all night, also the small holding alongside the site had several cockerels which woke us up at 3.45 each morning.

What a beautiful site, staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to ensure we were happy and settled. Unfortunately the English weather had made the surrounding walks into "mud-baths", I wish I had packed my "wellies"! Never-the-less we still explored, such a beautiful place, we only live 20 miles away, I had no idea this site was here it is hidden in a forest glade.
We were lucky we had a hard standing away from the road, I would think it could be quite noisy as it is a very busy road.
Tents, caravans, etc are inter-mingled which I think adds to the friendly atmosphere. Children have plenty of room to play. Rabbits galore, all in all an absolute "treasure"!

August 2004 This is a very nice campsite situated in a wooded glade, on a gentle slope. We were not members of the Caravan and Camping Club on arrival, so had to pay just under £10 per person per night - a bit on the pricey side. However, the cleanliness and quality of the facilities made up for the high cost. The pitches were a good size too. I managed ok with my normal metal tent pegs. The main road outside the site was a bit noisy at times, and some kind person (probably a caravan-hater!) pipped his horn early each morning! We'll go there again for sure - it's so nice to have a place with facilities that you want to keep clean after you've used them. One final comment: buy an OS map and compass if you plan to walk the area - Cannock Chase doesn't have well-marked pathways, and there are paths everywhere!!!!

June 2004 Well kept clean & tidy site. Friendly wardens. Sorry Holiday Site Managers. Basics & ice creams available on site. Fish & chip van calls 7 pm Saturday. Good dog walks & human walks all around. Cannock Chase Museum a couple of miles away handy if weather bad. Nearest pub about 1.5 - 2 miles. Site is very uneven, needed ramps. Also pegs difficult to get in - suggest take rock pegs. Very sheltered, trees all around so your Satellite dish probably won't work.

July 2003 Thankyou to Malcom and Josie ( Wardens) and also Sean and his Wife (Assistant Wardens) for a wonderful Holiday. Your campsite is beautiful.
Toilet and Shower Blocks are kept spotless and no charge for the showers.
Dish Washing facilities also spotless. There is a little shop on site selling milk, sweets and ice lollies, also other basic food stuff.
Nearest local shop 1 and a half miles away but very expensive, take your shopping with you.
The campsite is in the middle of a forest and is very peaceful. Although no park for the children there is ample sapce between pitches for the children to play, ball games are allowed.
This is definately a family orintated site. I would definately come here again. It was wonderful.
