We visited this site for the first time this year and really enjoyed our stay.
We were a group of eight adults and six children and the owners couldn't have been more accommodating fetching picnic tables over to our pitch and lending us their bbq.
The site is nice and quiet, the pitches are all flat and we had plenty of room for our group. The shower/toilets/washing up areas are all beautifully clean and the grounds well attended with lighting around the pitches at night.
There are two shower blocks. The showers are more powerful in the main block where reception is, although the water was always lovely and hot in both blocks.
There is a small shop on site where you can buy essentials and the prices were very good.
There is also a freezer in reception where you can cool your cool blocks. Several of our group enjoyed fishing in the lake in the grounds.
The site is within easy reach of Darsham and our group did a lovely walk through heather parks from Darsham to Dunwich which is about 2 miles.
We had some rain whilst there but the site drains quickly and so you are not walking mud into the tents. One piece of advice. Take insect repellent with you.
There are lots of gnats. Great site and would definitely visit again.

Visited for the third year running, always been good, but its now great since its under new management. They've extended the site but not ruined its feel, quiet and personal.
Big pitches, great fishing lake, great views, brilliant clean facilities !
Great for Southwold, Aldborough and a brilliant place called Snape Maltings. Suprised by the camp shop, so cheap and had everything I needed apart from bread.
Great dog walks, great pubs nearby, will definitely be back and recommend site now that the farmer doesn't site you on your pitch ! Can't wait to go back.
Peace and quiet. Not spoiled.

We returned here again after discovering it last year. A very peaceful site in glorious countryside. As adults with no children, this is perfect for us as we avoid busy child friendly sites.
Perfect for exploring Minsmere, which is ten minutes by car, and a glorious walk of approximately an hour. To give campers an idea, to walk to Minsmere, walk around the reserve and walk back is approximately 9 miles.
The team are very friendly, and keep the site immaculate. Although the weather was not as kind as it usually is, we didn't fare too badly, as the rain came during the night.
All the surrounding villages are worth visiting, there are some good pubs to eat, namely the Ship at Dunwich and the Eels Foot at Eastbridge. We will most definitely return again.

Stayed here over Easter, to be near Minsmere, Southwold etc. We were the only motorhome on the site (around 30 grass pitches, with hookups). Its a very basic site with minimal facilities - washrooms were clean, but not always able to supply hot water. Queues for ladies showers (2) both times my wife tried.
For Motorhomes the location is less than ideal, as its a 1 mile walk along a narrow lane to Westleton, and there are no useful footpaths nearby. We cycled to Minsmere & Dunwich, which is a nice easy ride, although we had horrible weather.
They were building an additional 40 pitches in the adjacent field, but again, from the outside the washing block looked small. Unlikely to go back there - quite a few of the caravans on the site seemed unoccupied - those that were there may have been there for the fishing. We felt £17 was too much for what was on offer.

We stayed here for one night whilst on a tour of the Eastern counties. The site is mainly level, very clean and tidy and the toilet block very clean and well-kept. We had a warm reception from the owners and the site was very good value.
The reception has a few provisions e. G UHT milk, tinned food etc and there are the usual basic essentials in the way of services; water, toilets, basins, showers, washing up point, electric hook-ups and chemical disposal etc. The field next door looks like there is expansion underway and a few more pitches will be available soon.
This is a very well-placed site for exploring the Suffolk coast, and there are a number of beaches, harbours, nature reserves and woodlands nearby if you prefer a relatively quiet and unspoilt environment (rather than endless entertainment).
The local villages also have a traditional feel, with small independent traders and are pleasant places for a gentle stroll on a nice day.
Framingham and Orford castles are easily reached and Southwold is a very pleasant little town also. You need the car (or a long walk) to get anywhere (even a shop or pub), but there is no disturbance on the site itself. Kids would be safe but might get bored!
We haven't any children and prefer adult-only sites so it's perfect for us though. But maybe the new developments will include more child-oriented facilities - so this might change in future.

We stayed at this site for the first time this year
John and his team were all very friendly, the site is immaculate and peaceful and it was a pleasure to return each day after a long walk.
We regularly saw a Barn Owl hunting over the site which was a treat.

This site is very friendly, clean, and easy accessible. The staff could not do enough for us and are extremely helpful. Pitches are mostly level and the TV signal is good.
There is a huge field adjacent to the site for your dog to run on. A large lake is adjacent to the field and all have full access. No charge for awnings or dogs.
Close to Dunwich beach and just a short drive to Southwold and Lowestoft.
Showers and toilets were exceptionally clean and the water very hot. I would definitely go back to this site time and again.

We stayed here at May half term with our two young children in a campervan and tent.
This is a great site which I thoroughly recommend as a base to explore the Southwold/Suffolk coast area. It is a basic site (no playground etc) but Mill Hill Farm gets the basics right.
I think other small/farm based sites could learn a lot from Mill Hill.
The shower and toilet facilities are really decent with plenty of hot water. Plus, the washing-up area is indoors which is very civilised if the weather is patchy.

Lovely site with no traffic noise which made a refreshing change. Lots of sheep in the field next door and a very vocal owl at night!
Check out the cycle shop round the corner by the Fox Inn for bike hire and routes. This is a brilliant area for walking and cycling. Very isolated with hardly any shops nearby so do make sure you have everything you need as you can't pop out to buy a bottle of wine!
We visited the Anchor Inn at Walberswick after a 5 mile bike ride which was great, with lovely food served in a nice big beer garden (dog and children friendly).
Despite all the comments about the toilets being a long way away up a steep hill, it really isn't that far, a couple of minutes walk at most! Don't let this put you off as the tent field is really lovely and away from all the caravans which are really packed in.
A great site if you can make your own entertainment as quite far from any towns or official 'days out'.

What a wonderful site. Stayed here with my husband and daughter (8)for two nights. Lovely toilets and showers, 2 of each. Washing up room, more like your kitchen from home, with washingmachine and dryer. Staff were extremely helpful and v. Friendly. Lots of room to play badminton etc. My daughter spent most of her time catching butterflies which was such a lovely picture! Give this site a try you will not be disappointed!
