What I like is the campsite itself. Very clean, nice pitch and late arrival times, when arriving from the ferry.

Verry friendly owners. Beautiful surroundings. Nice dog walk.

Pitty the pub was still closed.

A little disappointing is the cleaness of the showers in relation with the price. For £ 35 I would have expected cleaner showers.

The box inside the door has not been cleaned for a very long time. Washing tables only 2 and rather minimal.

Really liked this site, so laid back.

Owners were so lovely it felt like we had know them for years.

Pitches were fab, great sizes.

All facilities were cleaned, showered spot on, lovely and hot, stayed on without a push button too.

Tumble dryer available.

Lovely walks nearby. Pub down the road and a village shop.

Right near a park for children.

Walks down to water.

Will definitely return

Great feeling about the place and great for kids

Very disappointed with the deterioration of this site, after many previous visits over the years when using the Harwich-Holland ferry.

Guests must now book (and pay) in advance, receive the gate code and pitch number by email and let themselves in on arrival. No staff to be found at all on site.

The washing-up sink was dirty and neglected, the washing machine had been removed and the pub had closed down. That made WiFi unavailable, as well as food or drink.

The site has been renamed 'Strangers Holiday Park' and is gradually being turned over to static lodges which are for sale.

Campers were mainly Dutch and German tourists off the ferry, as it is the nearest site to Harwich, but it's a high price for such limited facilities, no longer open all year.

 The site is very level

Kept tidy. the showers and toilets are very clean and tidy with baskets on the back of the doors to put your things, shampoo etc, lovely and hot

The only thing was the pub on site was not open was disappointing as was going to have a meal Saturday night

As the nearest campsite to Harwich for the ferry to/from the Hook of Holland, we have stayed here several times and it is popular with Dutch and German visitors.

The large level site is now very secure, with high gates and CCTV, and the facilities have improved over the years.

It is disappointing that the hours for eating at the pub are so limited, as strangers arriving on the ferry at 8 pm cannot make it along the narrow country lanes in time for a meal on arrival. We even remember being able to get breakfast in the pub some years ago, which would surely be popular with those from abroad, keen to try a ‘Full English’.

WiFi is only available inside the pub or its beer garden, not across the site.

As it's very close tot the Ferry in Harwich used this campsite many times in the past when arriving in- or departing from the UK.

In the past not really for it's quality (acceptable nothing more) but purely for the afore mentioned logistical reasons.

Our most recent visit changed all that; campsite has been upgraded significantly; quiet in the night, well organized, a huge and flexible check-in/ out-time window, easy check-in and now even hard-standings and very well maintained grass pitches as well.

And a decent supper/dinner on site!

We'll definitely use it on our next visit to the UK if we arrive/ depart from Harwich.

Very clean, and peaceful. Owners friendly and helpful.

Arrived to late to order food from the pub, but owner had menus to order from local place which was very helpful.

Toilets, showers etc clean and tidy.

Washing machine and dryer on site if needed.

Only downside was pub only served food from 5pm till 8pm and we really fancied pub lunch.

Will definitely book again.

Well kept site. Helpful and friendly host.

Close to the ferry.

Located in nice village. Nice historic pub.

We use it more often on our to and from England.

The Site was good, and well laid out.

Pub only opened from 5pm three nights a week, however the fish and chips was very good.

We Couldn’t log on to Wi-Fi and didn’t think the toilet/ shower blocks were very good, a bit cramped as nowhere to put clothes to keep dry whilst showering apart from a small grubby basket screwed to the door.

We didn’t stay for our 2nd night.

Stayed here for one night after arriving from the ferry at Harwich. Friendly owner greeted us at the gate, directed us to our pitch and indicated where all facilities were.

Unfortunately, although I was told when booking in January that the Pub kitchen closed at 8. 30, on arrival at 8. 15 was told kitchen closed at 8pm.

Otherwise an immaculately kept site with good showers, dish washing, laundry, chemical waste and water.

Large area of well cut grass with three statics at one end.

Hardstandings as well as grass.

Tranquil site hidden behind pub.
