Stayed here for one night while cycling from lands end to John o groats.
Ian, the owner was very welcoming and supportive of our quest!
He thought we were mad, but wanted to help in any way he could.
Great site with loads of good places to eat nearby. Thank you Ian!

Perfect site for our first venture out.
The owner (Ian) was there on our arrival and showed us the layout/facilities.
Well kept grounds and clean loo block. Felt very secure with the huge entrance gate/coded.
Good spot to walk into the nearest town for supplies, pubs and restaurants.

We stayed for two nights me and my partner with our two children 7 and 2yrs old, we had a very warm welcoming, easy accessible with hard standing pitch and electric hook up.
The owners are very helpful and make sure you know we're all the facilities are.
The camp site is lovely and very well looked after with a lot of little ducks strolling around which is great for the little ones.
With pubs and lovely walk trails located local to the site it's a hidden gem of a place,
Myself and my family will definitely be coming back.

Stayed one night due to a trip planed to Haydock races.
Owners were very welcoming. Booking process was simple and emailed through this website and got a quick response.
Pitch was a good size, electric was close at end of pitch.
Gate on the front made us feel very secure at night.
Toilets/ showers- basic but fully functional.
We’d definitely would stay again.

Basic farm facilities. Plenty of room between pitches on hardstanding with EHU.
No hot water at sinks and £1 coin for showers. Not very clean but very friendly.
Ideal for overnight stopovers on the way to/from somewhere.

Nice tidy site and very friendly owners.
1st class security behind that bloody great gate.
The only site local to access Warrington and Leigh.
The price is right at £20 a night.

Well what can I say… this is a great little campsite ideal for exploring Manchester and Liverpool.
Pretty much in between Manchester and Liverpool it’s a great base for exploring. I found campsites in and around this area a little thin on the ground, but stumbling across Laylands Farm was great find.
The booking process was so easy, literally the fastest response to a booking at any campsite ever. Ian the owner got back to me within 5 mins on enquiring. Bank transfer of the site fees and I had already got the gate code.
When we arrived, we opened up the gate, and a little unsure as to the etiquette, went to the farm house, where a wonderfully friendly lady said we could choose any of the hard standing pitches that were available.
As we knew we would be back late from Manchester on the Saturday evening we found a spot closest to the gate to not disturb anyone. The pitch was lovely and level, and very spacious, with easily enough room for an awning if you were taking one.
The facilities could do with a bit of an update, but they were always clean. This did not detract from this campsite. It was a little bit of quiet and just out of the city, it was a welcome break to come back to after exploring.
This would also be a great site if you are travelling further up north, towards the lakes and Scotland and wanted to break up your journey. The site is literally 10 mins off the M6

The site was very spacious and we had a good choice of pitches.
Our pitch was an extra large one and gave us room for a caravan, an awning and parking our car alongside the awning.
The electric hook-up and water supply was close by as were the toilets.
The ladies shower was hot but did not have a solid door, just a curtain which was fine.
There was a large grassy area where we could walk our dog.
The owner was very helpful and always responded to our emails when booking and was available during our stay.
