Shirley was wonderful and very informative for a ‘mature’ lady, we all loved her.
The toilet dump off was a long walk and the grass was a bit long, but generally brilliant.
The sunset was amazing.
An easy walk to Quorn station was easy.

Perfect location for a day visit to Loughborough University, about 4 miles away.
Very nice, helpful owner who directed us to pitch up on an area of firm ground with access to the EHU's, as the main field was still too soft due to all the recent rain.
The farm access road is quite long and rough, so needs a gentle pace.
As others have also said, there are HGVs based on site which does impact on the peaceful location. The tipper lorries all left around 7pm and returned between 3am and 5am. Inevitably this did wake us up. Maybe not such an issue at the weekend if the lorries are just parked up? My advice would be to check with the owner in advance.
£20 with hook up seemed fair as there are toilets and showers on site, but we were self contained.

The site is on a working farm. The field itself a bit uneven but ok.
The facilities are OK if a bit rustic. Two loos, hot showers and a dusty kitchen and inside area.
The owner was very friendly, Shirley likes a good chat.
The sound of the steam railway was great and there's a pub nearby.
The only issue was the noise of trucks and nighttime aircraft from East Midlands Airport. So do take earplugs!

We did read previous reviews and knew about the and cons of this site. However, it was conveniently located for the servicing garage for our motorhome & within walking distance to Quorn railway station (Great Central Railway). The trains are not visible from the campsite.
We arrived on Sunday afternoon, warmly welcomed by Shirley the owner and shown the basics. The site was lovely, quiet, adjacent to fields with cattle grazing on 2 sides and far reaching views with spectacular sunsets. $20 per night.
The silence was dispelled very early on Monday morning with the movement of huge lorries, vans, cars parked in a compound in and around the farm buildings - traffic movement continued up and down the adjacent very bumpy farm road during working hours. If you are staying on site during the day this should be considered.
The very rustic facilities were adequate for us, located 75m away inside a barn. 2 showers & 1 toilet. No toilet paper, hand wash or towels (be prepared & take your own) Lots of hot water in showers & washing up area only. Mops available so after a good clean everything looked much improved!
Wi-fi was intermittent & couldn't be relied on & no walks from site as advertised. Farmers have to make a living but perhaps the diversification into the lease to small business enterprises & vehicle storage is incompatible with a campsite.

Lovely site, very close to the Great Central Railway.
Hosts were lovely.
Amenities were basic but sufficient.
Lovely to wake up to the sound of the steam trains and see them passing.

Lovely set up and lovely owners. Very accommodating. Great showers and our dog loved the sheep! Generally a quiet site.
One night where the pub behind was a little loud but that is out of the owners control.
We didn’t use electric pitches, but there were 4 of them.
Water tap and bin facilities available.
Lovely site and good value.

You could pick fault with tired toilets and showers,
Some truck noise on the farm and furrowed surface of paddock and farm road BUT far outweighed by wonderful host, loads of hot water, great sunset, far ranging views and dark skies.
We cycled into and around Loughborough on great cycle paths, passing the Great Central Steam Railway and a good pub which were easily walkable on paths from the farm.
We were in a 6m outfit and no trouble - 8m might find turn into paddock and ground clearance challenging.
Very good value and a blast of England’s charming, non-commercial, camping past.

Great site for visiting the Great Central Heritage Railway being only a 10 minute walk from Quorn station.
The site is a paddock on a working farm with a few cows and sheep in the next field with lovely views over the countryside and great sunsets.
Very quiet at the weekend but busy with lorry movements during the week.
Friendly welcome from the farmers wife who showed us where everything was.
There is a shower and toilet in a barn which is showing its age but perfectly usable with plenty of hot water and a washing up area.
Great for a steam train weekend.

What a lovely small site, and what a fantastic lady that runs it. Couldn't do enough to help. Showed me where the facilities were. They are in an old stable block. Its a working farm after all so just go with it!
10 minute lazy walk to the the Great Central Railway at Quorn, plus if you fancy a beer or a meal, the 'Manor House' is next to the station and seems really popular!
Note to those of you with a long set up. The entrance to the field is at a weird angle so may have to be careful turning in.
Also the field seems to have been subject to ridge and furrow ploughing in the past so not totally level, but workable!
Enjoy the peace, quite darkness and tranquillity.
