This is the second time we have stayed at this site as it is ideal if you are visiting the Great Central Railway at Quorn.
With the recent heavy rains and our van being large, we did get stuck on the wet grass. But as the site was not full, Mr Thomas said stay where you are are and plug in and on Sunday we will get the tractor out and give a tow out. This is what we did.
We did not use the on site showers or loos as we have our own in the van. Bare in mind this is a working farm so there is vehicle movement with some Tarmac lorries which use the farm.
Mr & Mrs Thomas were helpful and friendly. No rush to get us off the site on Sunday unlike some places.
We will certainly go back again.

Great location for visiting Loughborough.
But agree with other reviewers that the toilets and showers were basic (dirty and no lol paper).
Owners very friendly

Very basic site but perfectly fine for a few nights camping.
Host very welcoming.
Be best to have your own on board toilet / shower though as facilities on site could do with some TLC.
We enjoyed our stay … Thanks

Lovely location and handy for visiting family. Nothing had changed since a previous visit 6 years ago.
Toilet facilities are awful - I don't know how 1 toilet works if the field is full especially as the farm workers appear to use it as well The water heater in the toilet leaked all over the floor when turned on so no hot water.
We didn't fancy using the showers as we were only there for 2 nights and it was very cold and everything looked dirty. Also no light outside the building so torches definitely needed (and own toilet paper! ).
Apart from the run down facilities, we had a friendly welcome and we're glad we had family nearby.
Recommend the cafe at the nearby station for breakfast

Owner really friendly & on site.
Shower looks naff but actually hot & powerful. Use of washing machine & hot water sink to do dishes.
Toilets could do with a spruce up but work just fine.
Electric hook up no issues
Great location for surrounding area with a pub within easy walking distance.
This is a working farm so there is traffic early start & late afternoon.
8/10 from us.
Tidy up facilities to make it 10/10

Peaceful site with beautiful scenery.
Very friendly welcome as we had been before and they remembered.
We felt like we had had a weeks break not just a weekend!

Treat it as basic and it's great. The lady looking after it is lovely, you can have electricity, and there are 2 toilets and 2 showers. Don't expect mint clean facilities, they are a little grubby, but the showers are hot and powerful and toilets work.
It's a working farm with a field and basic facilities. But for the price and location I can't knock it. We'd go back to have a night/day out at the GCR or Quorn. They could spend a chunk on newer facilities, but it's a small field and you may never get it back!
It's also a working farm so expect tractors, trucks and farm staff!
All nice guys though.

Very pleasant rural location within easy walking distance of shops, pubs, public transport and the Great Central steam railway. Ideal base for exploring the local countryside.
Easy to control showers with hot water and good water pressure. Very reasonable pitch fees and very friendly owner and fellow campers.
On the down side the shower cubicles, walls and floors were very grimy.
The toilet cubicle walls and floor were also dirty and scruffy although the toilet itself was clean (there were only 2 of us using it). The one toilet roll ran out half way through our stay and was never replaced. The 'kitchen' area was also very dirty.
This is such a lovely site for those of us who just want somewhere quiet and basic to stay so I really hope the owners improve on the cleanliness of the facilities.

Track leading to site has some pretty large craters to negotiate. Unable to rate facilities as closed for covid. Camping field is furrowed but ok round the edge. Grass too long. Noisy site but is working farm sawing, banging, lorries etc.
Unfriendly welcome from lady in charge and in spite of paying on arrival we were further accosted on day 3 by her demanding to know if we had paid her. Get a receipt is my advice.
Nice spot with lovely views and close to amenities

Track from main road very rough full of rocks and holes. The grass on the site had not been cut for weeks. The waste disposal point is a very long walk across fields.
The access to the field requires a U turn before you can get through the gate.
Overall not very impressed with site but on the no plus side the views are nice.
