Had high expectations for this site, looked lovely on pics and was ideal location for us. "Dog friendly" but cost us £12 per night for the dogs. Advertised dog walk which was OK but had to dodge quad bikes and off road motorbikes so letting them off lead was risky but it was a decent length of farm track to walk along.

The pitches were a good size and spaced quite well but no division (hedges/foliage etc) with ehu but no waste/water which was disappointing. Large new shower/ toilet block but only managed a shower on last day as no hot water (no discount offered for lack of facilities)

Great pub in the next village for food and plenty to do locally. Is next door to a outdoor adventure place and then the glider club (fantastic breakfast at the cafe there. Very reasonable price)

Fishing on site (extra cost)

Costing almost £160 for 3 nights we would not return. For that price we would expect fully serviced level pitches with fishing included - we have visited much better sites and paid less.

Very flat, level pitches, well maintained grass cut short. Plenty of bins, recycling, ash and general waste. Generally felt very well maintained. Shower in "fishing lodge" was excellent, one of the best on a campsite.

Good little kitchenette, complete with toaster, sandwich press, microwave, hob, oven, fridge, freezer and sink.

Washing machine and tumble dryer (pay as you use).

Very luxurious, recently refurbished shower block. Probably the fanciest I've ever been in on a campsite! However they were having boiler problems and the water was only lukewarm.

Excellent accessible toilet and shower, very well thought out with space to manoeuvre and plenty of grab rails.

Very beautiful glamping units, especially the safari lodge.

Not as peaceful as I would have preferred with aeroplanes flying over from the gliding club and helicopters from a nearby base, and quad bikes from the neighbouring business.

Shop was mysteriously poorly stocked - no cheese, meat, few eggs, no veg. There was milk, icecream sweets and wood for the fire. Firepits to hire. Receptionist on site for long hours - easy to ask for help if needed.

Children's cinema every Saturday in the barn, and egg collecting Saturday morning (adults too!) which is really lovely.

Extra facilities in high season - pizza van, coffee, restaurant.

Campfires allowed in firepits - £5 per night, wood £7 per bag.

Local taxi available from Market Harborough for around £20.

Overall, I think I probably wouldn't return. I think it would suit caravanners and camper vans, as well as families with vehicles better.

Good for: Mobility access/disabled facilities, fishing people, campervan /caravanners, families, car owners.

Not so good for: Back to nature, tranquillity, sensitive noses (manure), public transport (miles away), local café,

This is a nice site, well located and surrounding area is lovely. The views from pitches are good particularly around the lakeside.

The local pub (about 0. 5 mile away) served good food and ale (not sure if it is dog friendly inside).

My main issue with this site is that it is not value for money, it is a £30 a night site not the £38-£44/night charged (plus £3 for a dog).

There is a toilet/shower block but it is communal and although generally clean there were lots of cobwebs (long and short term). For the price paid I would have expected much better facilities and cleanliness.

The fishermans hut also has toilets and a good kitchen area which would be useful if camping. There was work going on in the shower block so perhaps it is not normally communal however the price should reflect the reduced facilities. There was also work taking place on the fishermans hut.

By the end of the Sunday almost everyone had left, can't help thinking that is due to the price as I usually find that most people stay until Monday on sites we have visited.

Had high expectations, fishing lake very good and lovely views.

Stayed on a “luxury pitch” far from it unfortunately. Rough granite road stone pitch, surrounded by over grown nettles. Only electric hook up. No water supply. Elsen point other side of the site.

Facilities very tired looking and in need of some TLC. Only one toilet for male and one for female. Plus 1 disabled. 1 shower massive cobwebs above it.

There was another facility block in the next field.

Could be a brilliant site, shame really.

A quick 2 nighter to try out our new caravan.

Pitches were a decent size. The toilet block was clean and warm.

There is a glider club beside the site so it's nice to watch these soaring overhead.

We ate in a pub called the Coach & Horses in nearby Lubenham. Really nice food and reasonably priced.

Also handy for Market Harborough

Three families camping together with tents and caravan with EHU. Plenty of space, clean showers and loos and beautiful lake. Friendly staff and loved the fact we could have a fire.

Pub (Red Lion) about a mile down the road can be reached via a footpath ( go straight over road at end of entrance to farm and then turn left along footpath a few hundred years down - brings you into village about 200 yards from pub) for a pleasant half hour stroll or straight down road but bit hairy as verges overgrown and cars go very fast.

Attractive large farm site with lake. One Facilities block, very clean, lots of sanitiser and cleaning materials.

It was only partially full when I went, but had had a very busy summer. There's a small supermarket in Husbands Bosworth about 3 miles away.

The ground was rather wet, it's on clay and there had been lots of rain. It's not always quiet - there were quad bikes the first evening and the noisiest grass-cutting machine ever the next!

But a nice site and I expect I'll go back.

Lovely site with stunning sunrise and sunset views.

Toilets and showers were spotless and there was plenty of sanitiser around communal areas.

The small shop was useful for essentials but only a few miles from local village amenities.

We enjoyed watching the gliders and evenings around the hired fire pit.

Only warning would be if walking around the wooded areas there are quad bike runs so keep an eye on children and dogs.
