We stayed at Brook Meadow for 5 nights on EHU. We were situated in the rally field which is in front of the lake as you drive down.
The site was spacious with the central focus being the lake. The lake itself is lovely and nice to walk around. There is quite a lot of geese poo on the ground.
The shower block is in a log cabin, with 2 showers which include a toilet and basin in the room which is handy. There are also 2 other toilets to the front of the block. Washing up facilities are available with 2 sinks and there is a washing machine and tumble dryer also. A microwave was available and a hairdryer. The shower block could do with another couple of showers and toilets as there were queues a couple of times.
There was lots of room on the rally field for children to play, one group were playing rounders and we tried to fly kites.
All around a lovely site, with a gliding company next door which was nice to watch the gliders during the day.

Stayed here for a couple of days just before the bank holiday. Was nice and quiet but started to get busy on the Saturday of the bank holiday. The lake area is lovely and there is also a field towards the rear. We had no problems waiting for the showers etc but I can imagine a bit of a wait when it's really busy. Plenty of hot water, could be cleaner but was ok. Owners were friendly and helpful and very relaxed. For £10 a night it's well worth it, add another £6 if you want to fish in the lake. I'll definitely go back.

There are a few electric hook ups, but if you don't want electric there is plenty of space in the field for camping and limited space by the lake. We didn't have to book, despite it being a bank holiday.
There were 2 toilet cubicles and a further 2 toilets in the 2 shower cubicles. It was nice to have a toilet, sink and shower together in one room, but I had concerns that this would cause lengthy queues. I was amazed that I didn't have to queue once! Particularly with it being a bank holiday weekend. The showers were lovely and hot and there was also a small radiator in the room.
Unfortunately there were quite a few dogs on the site and very few owners cleaned up after them so we had to check the ground carefully before pitching the tent and had to warn the children to be careful when playing on the field.
It also would have been useful to have more or bigger bins on the site.
There is an airfield nearby used by the gliding club so there is some aircraft noise, but we really enjoyed watching them.
Would certainly use again if in the area.

Just back from a couple of days at this fab site. Had no problem booking, just told to turn up which was very handy as it was the bank holiday weekend. Huge field to pick a spot, we chose the main field, although around the lake was lovely but we were concerned about our youngest. Even though it was a busy weekend there was loads of room so plenty of privacy. There's a big hedge to provide shelter too.
There aren't any facilities for children as such, but a big field, some woodland and the lake to walk around was enough for us.
The adjacent airfield really added to the weekend. Before we arrived, we stopped to watch the planes and gliders taking off and landing, and when we got to our spot the planes were overhead entertaining us for hours.
There's been a lot of criticism about the facilities, which I found perfectly adequate. Although in an ideal world could be a bit cleaner and a couple more toilets / showers. Nice touches like an iron and ironing board, microwave and fridge. Best bit I liked was the comfy sofa outside to just sit and chill. This site is a bargain at £10 a night (no elec). All in all, a very relaxing weekend, I'd recommend this site and we'll definitely be back.

Brook Meadow Farm is a working farm in Leicestershire/Northamptonshire. It has around 10 hook-ups and a chalet with two bathrooms, separate toilets, 3 rental chalets. A wonderful lake with some pretty big carp. How sad it has been to see the decline of what was a wonderful place to visit. The hardstanding have all but disappeared. There are many full time residents on the site. The prices have escalated to £15.00 per night for a caravan with electric hook-up - not keeping with other sites in the area and there is a awful amount of 'dog poo' about, which makes it difficult if one has children or if one is camping in a tent.

Just returned from a great few days at this site ok it was midweek and we had all the campfield to ourselves but all we wanted was a couple of chilled days doing nothing and that's what we got. Owners was very helpful and was always about should there be a problem. Site was very clean and the fisherman's lodge with the microwave / fridge etc was a godsend as the weather was great. Showers was always clean and presentable and my family of wife,me and my dog (Doberman) was made to feel welcome we pitched in the field behind the lake leaving the lakeside pitches for the fishing parties but we didnt have to could have pitched anywhere would we return ?? you bet ! just need a few more days off work and we are on our way. Market harborough about 5 miles away for all the basics etc. Once again well worth a visit.

Just returned from this site, staying there for the Festival of History at nearby Kelmarsh Hall.
Arrived at 2pm on Friday afternoon where we were directed to our pitch by the owner Jasper. The electic hookup pitches are on the rally field, furthest away from the fishing lake. The facilities of two shower / toilet rooms were supplimented by portable toilets, urinals and showers (which I had never seen before!) so little if no waiting at all.
Pitch fees were £15 per night which seems reasonable.
All in all a very good site which provided an enjoyable stay and I would certainly return.

Just come back from a weekend at this site with the kids and we have all enjoyed the stay despite the horendous weather yesterday. We pitched on a non electric location on the lower field by the lake which made a nice view. There is an airfield nearby, this gave us good views of low flying helecopters, props, gliders and even hot air balloons. This was really good to watch while sitting down having a drink, they were not irritating by any means.
Facilities were clean, plenty of hot water. There is also a microwave, fridge and kettle for any to use, hairdryer, iron board, washing machine, book / mags to read. 2 pot washing points. 4 toilets with wash basins. 2 showers, these were being well used and I can imagine that during peak season these would not be enough. Apart for that a well recomended site that we will return to.

A great site really quiet lovely location. My only gripe was the toilets. It was a busy weekend with a VW show nearby.
The toilets could not cope and after a downpour there was mud all over the floors. As well as being unisex I feel four toilets is just not enough.
A car is a must as well as no shop on site. That said I had a relaxing weekend and would go again.

A very nice site, The price (£9 for a myself and a 1 man tent) is a little higher than what I am used to paying for a campsite but it is worth it. The tent area is next to a lake and is very nice, caravans were in another field behind a hedge. The grass in the tent area was cut short and well kept. The site was quiet and away from roads. The facilities were located in a wooden hut close to the lake and consisted of two shower rooms with a shower, sink and toilet in each, two further toilets and a small kitchen area. The controls for the showers are somewhat unusual, to get water you have to turn a knob and then press a push button to get water and then press it every 30 secs or so to keep the shower going. There were instructions on the wall but I did not notice them so spent some time trying to figure out how to operate the shower. Even though the shower stops when the push button pops out you need to turn the knob off when you have done otherwise the shower will be cold for the next person. The kitchen area contained a sink, kettle and microwave and there was also a washing machine and tumble dryer. To use the washer or dryer, you need to put a £1 coin in a slot which gives you 1 hour. I went on a Sunday night and the facilities block was empty when I went to it at about 9pm.
